Just finished an amazing week at La Chaudanne and would like to thank all staff for making us so welcome, from time of arrival (nice early check in) until early departure one week later.
Breakfast is very good, wide selection of hot and cold foods, lovely atmosphere in the bar for apres ski and free cake is a bonus.
Room functional, a little small but nicely laid out.
Spa and pool area really good, lovely way to relax after a day’s skiing.
We had dinner at L’Ekrin, a most magestic restaurant, a 6 course fine dining experience where the staff were exceptional, every one of them.
Only complaint is the daily charge of EUR 32 for car parking which is unnecessary given the cost of the week’s stay in half term week, over EUR 210 on top of the bill is an expense we could have done without....

This was a great hotel for a skiing holiday. The hotel ski shop, across the road, is just a few short steps from the 'Chaudanne' ski area where the ski schools meet and the lifts start.

It has a cosy hotel bar for afternoon tea or drinks, and a lively wine bar attached to the hotel, which seemed to be quite 'the place to be' in town (booking recommended). Breakfasts were hearty and full of choice; staff were attentive and helpful.

The 'superior' room was smaller than I expected but when I checked the photos online I realised it was just clever photography and it was actually exactly as pictured. Perfectly habitable, but nothing special, and it didn't really matter as you really are just falling into bed exhausted when skiing.

Notably, there were no walk-in showers in any of the four rooms our group had: just attachments on the bath. Another friend had a shower but no bath so, if this is important, check with the hotel when booking.

Stayed at La Chaudanne for 4 days skiing in the 3 Valleys in Feb 2022 and had a very enjoyable stay. We were in a group of 8 and overall the stay was comfortable with the hotel staff very attentive and welcoming.

The hotel has a great location being very close to the main ski lifts at Chaudanne.
One small moan would be the lack of a stand up shower in our superior room which was a little frustrating.

Overall highly recommended.

I booked a short break (4 days) at the Chaudanne Hotel towards the end of the season after a break from skiing of nearly two years due to Coronavirus restrictions. Our welcome after a long day of travelling was excellent. Baggage and car parking were dealt with immediately, as was the transfer of our ski equipment to the shop across the road, where it was looked after professionally for the time we were there.

My friend and I stayed in two of the small rooms in the eaves. The accommodation was a bit tight, but was exactly as billed. We could have stayed in the larger rooms, but for such a short period and each of us on our own, our bedrooms were adequate. Plenty of hot water and towels and twice daily service all made things easy for us.

The cocktail bar was very professionally staffed, with Marco being a particularly skilled and knowledgeable barman.

We only ate in the restaurant once (except for breakfast) and it was a nice meal, with good service.

All in all a lovely stay with great staff. We'll be back.

In the center of town but with public parking nearby, this hotel is very nice with friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are nice but nothing exceptional however very clean and the bedding is comfortable. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the street below (but not a lot of traffic so not noisy). Good breakfast with a large selection of items in the restaurant (called le 80) connected to the hotel lobby. Again the restaurant staff was amazing, friendly and helpful and welcoming. An overall great stay I would go back any time

Our stay at Hotel La Chaudanne over the Christmas and New Year period was an unforgettable experience. I would like to express my most sincere gratitude to the entire team, especially the reception and bar staff. Their kindness and availability were remarkable, answering all our questions with a smile and accompanying us throughout our stay in an exemplary manner.

The setting of the hotel, combined with the warm and welcoming atmosphere, made our stay perfect. Every detail, from the thoughtful decor to the impeccable cleanliness of the rooms, helped create an environment where we felt truly pampered and valued as guests.

It is with a heart full of joy and gratitude that I highly recommend the La Chaudanne hotel to anyone looking for an exceptional stay. Thank you to the whole team for these unforgettable moments, your professionalism and dedication really made the difference.

It's hard to be more convenient for the start of the skiing day - just roll out of bed and you are at the bottom of the pistes. However the real difference at Hotel Le Chaudanne is the staff who couldn't be more polite and helpful - always with a smile. Yes Brasserie 80 serves fine food, yes the rooms are comfortable and well serviced, yes Chaudanne Sport takes care of all the skiing hardware, but all that is topped by a friendly and focussed team who make this a five star French experience. Well done.

I just spent a week at the hotel and skiing in Meribel with my sister and it was everything it promised to be and more! The accommodations were lovely, the spa facilities excellent and the service was fantastic. The real wow factor though was the ski shop across the road Chaudanne sport. The service was absolutely exemplary. Every single member of the team there went out of their way to make you feel important and served, from remembering names and bringing you your gear out, to making great adjustments to my sisters boots and selling me a pair of boots that made my skiing experience one of the best I have ever had. The attitude of the team was fabulous and this is the part of the experience that makes the whole trip great. Thank you to the whole team! We will be back

Room Tip: The small room option is very small works well for a couple not for friends as it is a shared bed.

The hotel is situated really close to the slopes, not quite ski in but close enough to be called convenient. The room, although on the small side was very pleasant with a great view into the valley and always clean. The staff were friendly and helpful, the concierge not entirely to be relied upon but friendly enough when reminded! Breakfast was a real treat, a huge and tasty selection of just about everything you could think of for breakfast and more! The Brasserie 80 was atmospheric and lively and the food good and the bar area was cosy and welcoming after a day on the slopes. The wellness area was slightly disappointing, only a small sauna and steam room and a small pool filled with kids, however the spa was tranquil and the treatments good. The ski shop across the road was probably the best I have ever used, the staff were friendly and helpful and the equipment was top quality. To sum up its a cosy hotel with mountain atmosphere and the price tag isn't too eye watering!

Great location near main lifts and ski school. Breakfast was poor as they never refreshed the supply and it was often empty. No tables to be found. Room and decor were tired and in need of a refresh. Hotel was otherwise clean. Concierge (with mustache) was notably poor and exceedingly rude. We left the hotel early since it was not the vacation we had hoped for. Moved to neighboring hotel kaila which was extraordinary. Impossible to believe the stark differences between the sister hotels. One is definitely the pride and joy while Chaudanne is the ugly stepsister of the family.
