We have just returned from nine days holiday at Le Hôtel Savoy and it was the best ski holiday ever. We have been to Meribel about 30 times over the last 17 years previously staying in catered chalets, however with Covid, this is no longer economically viable for a couple and so we turned to a hotel.
We had eaten at the Savoy on several occasions in the past and knew the food to be good, so it was that we booked for early March. Unfortunately Covid struck us and we had to cancel the day before we were due to arrive, as we were still testing positive. The hotel were brilliant allowing us to transfer our deposit to another room three weeks later although they were within their rights to keep the deposit, as our cancellation was after the cutoff date.
The service from and professionalism of the hotel staff is first class, not only that they were also friendly and helpful. Generally their english is perfect and they had no hesitation entering into conversation and providing advice.
As I mentioned earlier, the food is very good, both the cooking and presentation, the menu provides enough variation to cater for most tastes, but is small enough to ensure that everything is fresh. Breakfast was a buffet with a wide variety of choices and eggs were cooked individually to your choice.
Our room was very comfortable, with a balcony facing south and masses of storage. Admittedly we had the best room in the hotel, as this was all that was available at such short notice, but I am sure that the other rooms, will be of a similar standard for their price.
The hotel bar was a sociable place to meet, it serves tapas style food at lunchtime as well as afternoon tea and delicious looking cakes from 3-5pm.
Although the hotel is in the middle of the town, it is only a few yards away from an escalator that will take you up to a small ski run which will then take you down to the lifts at Le Chaudanne, just a couple of minutes skiing. On your return, you can use the same escalator or the free bus which stops outside of the hotel, there is no need to stay on the bus whilst it travels all the way around the town’s one way system, as you can get off at the rear of the hotel , Les Ravines stop, and access the hotel through the lift in the car park at Les Ravines, which delivers you next door to the hotel’s ski room. Whilst a ski in/ski out hotel has its attractions, at a premium, the location of the Savoy is not only convenient to the piste, but also to the restaurants and shops in the town.
We will definitely be returning in 2023

Spent 3 nights at Hotel Le Savoy with 4 friends for a Ski Weekend. Our rooms were clean, simple given the focus was skiing so we appreciated the efficient styling of the room, leaving space for luggage and ski gear.

Breakfast had a great selection of cold meats, pastries and cereals, with hot options as you would expect. Compliments to the management on their bean selection for their coffee machines, it was an excellent cup of coffee to start the day.

The hotel is equipped with a boot room on the lower level and the workflow of leaving in the morning, putting your boots on, grabbing your skis and walking down to the Chaudanne quite straight forward. We really appreciated the little touch of the spa slippers in the boot room at the end of the day so you could walk back to your room in fresh cool slippers.

We used the Ham-am and the Sauna after our Ski days out, they are small but could support a group of 5 without feeling overly claustrophobic. The facility is clean with fresh towels on hand, along with classic spa water cocktails.

The bar was a really nice spot to meet before dinner, and with the fire going, and the friendly bartenders enthusiastic to get our pre dinner drinks in our hands, we were grateful our dinners were booked close by.

The management team were very accommodating and the bar and breakfast stuff were friendly and knowledgable at every turn. A really great touch of service was to be able to pack our bags and check out on our last day of skiing and come back to the hotel and be able to shower in the spa and leave fresh and relaxed.

I would highly recommend the hotel, especially to a group of adults. Whilst it does it's best to cater to children and they are of course welcome, I tried to think of the same experience with my own children and could see how it would quickly become stressful with the layout of the hotel and the lack of child oriented areas. That said, there were families there and they too looked quite happy.

The staff and the management team deserve high praise for their attention to detail and overall client centric demeanour. The location of the hotel is perfect to step out to a selection of nice to quirky restaurants, and it made wandering back from the Tavern across the street that much easier. Intersport is around the corner and makes for a quick pickup and drop off of ski essentials.

A great combo of location, service and facilities. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Just returned from a family holiday week of skiing in Meribel, and cant say enough good things about Le Savoy. It’s a chic 4 star hotel right in the middle of Meribel village, probably 5min walk to the Chaudanne ski area, so almost ski in and out. The rooms and bathrooms were spotless (thank you Alice for putting up with our mess), high end toiletries (Dyptique) and the food (especially the breakfast) was very good. But its the service at the hotel that made it a 5 star stay for us. We are pretty discerning guests and usually stay in 5 star properties (eg Kempinski at St Moritz), and we were blown away by the service. Even from before the trip, the front desk staff (Antoine, Maxime, Lucy) were incredibly patient and helpful in organising lessons, ski rental, etc. And when we got to the hotel, every single member of staff (special thanks to Rodrigo, Pierre Eric, the lady helping at breakfast) went out of their way to be helpful. And not in the snooty, pained way that you experience sometimes, but they were genuinely interested in making our trip as pleasant as possible, including driving us to the pistes every day and even carrying our skis and poles to the ski locker in the hotel. It was our daughter’s birthday and we got two cakes delivered to our room. The only small issue we had was that the rooms weren’t that big (but not a huge deal since we were out most of the day), and that the loo was separate from the bathroom and didn’t have a wash basin. But other than, can’t fault the hotel and we will definitely return.

We stayed at Le Savoy for 4 days as non-skiers visiting Meribel. What a fantastic, stylish boutique hotel! Its location is superb, right in the centre of Meribel, close to bars, restaurants and coffee shops, yet not disturbed by noise. Our room (sun tradition) was small but perfectly formed and exceptionally clean with a great terrace with lovely views. Staff were friendly and helpful, and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay.

The hotel is in a great location, in the middle of the town. It's easy to ski to the lifts from a slope right next to the hotel and the staff were more than happy to bring us back from the lifts after a long day on the slopes with their shuttle. We stayed in a suite which was a good size for a family of 4. Breakfast was good too.

Fantastic hotel, great bar, friendly staff, clean and compact rooms, lovely breakfast.
Great Location, the lift is just across the road and up the escalate to the slopes.

Only one negative area:
Boot room could be better! we were all overheating in this room, so getting into and out of boots was even more uncomputable than it should be.

would stay again for sure.

We stayed here for 9 nights in January, the hotel is in the middle of the town and opposite the Tourism Office, where there is an escalator that takes you to an easy ski run down to the Le Chaudanne ski lift area. The hotel is very comfortable, the food is excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. We stayed on a half board basis and the management ensured that on our second week our dinner wasn’t a repetition of the first week. I unfortunately i injured myself after 3 days and spent a lot longer in the hotel than I really intended, but the staff were really helpful and considerate, their mini bus delivered and collected us from a restaurant a few kilometres away, as well as to the medical centre. We are hoping to return next year.

Just back from our trip which was the 3rd year that we have now stayed at this hotel. Fantastic location with excellent facilities.
The head bar man is a real character knows us too well now who is always glad to provide whatever is requested.
The staff were very young this year but so very helpful, would always recommend this hotel and will be returned next year!

We had 2 rooms, 4 people. Stayed here for our ski trip.
Absolutely superb, lovely hotel and all the people working here are really helpful and friendly - they even picked us up from a bar at the other end of the resort to save us walking with our skis when we came off the slopes early due to weather!
The hotel is very central to the bars and restaurants of Meribel, the piste is just across the road and up an escalator.
All of my party agreed this was one of the best ski hotels we have stayed in. Definitely will be back.

My husband and I stayed at Le Savoy 4 nights during the week before Christmas 2022.
I booked the stay directly on their website and 10 days before the stay they sent me an email if there is anything they can do. That was a sign of good service and when we arrived the service did not disappoint.

Service; They made reservations at great restaurants for us, the shuttle service was very handy and the staff really made our stay pleasant.

Location; Couldn’t be better if you are there to ski. Very short walk to Piste Escalator with a quick run to the Chaudanne (no need to walk there).

Bar/food: We the breakfast spread a good variety and enjoyed it before skiing everyday. The bar has a cosy fire place and we enjoyed our drinks with the Charcuterie board which was from the local cheese maker (with a shop next door) which we enjoyed.

Thank you Team Hotel Le Savoy, we look forward to staying with you again.

Dear C Quinn, Thank you very much for your question. We should open 2019 bookings in March. Nevertheless, Elise, our Reception Manager would be more than happy to see with you your preferences for next winter. We wish you a very pleasant day and hope to hear from you soon! Sincerely, Claire de Saint Denis, Hotel Manager, Hotel Le Savoy Meribel
Answer from SABLE

The hotel is located less than 50meters away from the slopes (right in the city centre, next to the Tourisme office). Technically, the Savoy is not ski-in/ski-out but is very close. Moreover, as soon as you put your skis on at the access, you don't have to use anymore your ski pole to reach the main lifts (max 30 seconds later) as it is a slope (not flat like in many places).
Answer from SABLE

Dear Pascha, We can accept both request, week & weekend reservation but it does depend on our schedule. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, just call us and we will let you know. Looking forward to talking with you. Best regards from Sunny Méribel, Martin Leverd
