I stayed at this hostel for 9 nights. It's right across the street from the Nicabus station and a convenient pharmacy with only a few minute walk to downtown Granada. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Suggested tours are available and a private taxi driver if needed. There's strong wifi, and a bar next to the pool with hammocks and chairs. Great vibes! Awesome spot to stay when visiting Granada!!

I loved this place and it was a highlight of our trip to Granada, Nicaragua. The staff was awesome. Very helpful with everything. Tours were excellent. They were friendly and a joy to interact with. The hostel itself was great. Clean rooms, beautiful pool. Nice kitchen and common areas. Location was great too. Close to cheaper shops and stores but also close enough to walk to the center of the city. The pool was not too cold and refreshing. Our daughter loved it. We had a room with a fan only and our friend had the room with AC. It got hot, but if you are used to the tropics, this should be fine. I would definitely stay there again. We took a trip to Masaya volcano and to lake Opoyo and both were very good. We were hooked up with great guides.

We stayed here for two nights, in a private shared bathroom unit. The unit came with a double bed and the loudest fan on earth possible. There was AC but not working (found out later you need to pay extra for it). The windows had no nets for mosquitoes. Pool was a bit muggy and full of hair. Kitchen was clean. Location kinda close to the Center. If I could I would have stayed elsewhere but we booked last min over Easter week. Front desk staff Diana was great! Place was very clean.

While staying at the GM Granada Hostel we had a day with no running water. The air conditioning costs extra. The staff were friendly and there is a nice pool area. Staff spoke limited English as a heads up for some travellers.

Response from Gregory M, Owner at GM Granada Hostel
Responded 06 Mar 2018
Dear Justin, as explained at check in, Granada is currently repiping the main water lines in the city...so there are daily water outages to areas efected by the city improvements to the water lines. Like was explained during check in, the house has a 1,500 gallon water tank just for this type of situation. My most sincere apologies that the guests used all 1,500 gallons the day you were visiting with us, leaving the house at the will of the municipal water district. Like most 3rd world cities, the instant access to water and electricity that we are accustomed to are not always just a faucet or light switch away. This is a very common issue while traveling in 2nd and 3rd world locations. Yes, AC is an additional cost, as a $20 private room with AC would be a most remarkable find!!! I imagine that you are new to traveling as aside from actual Hotels with a markedly higher price point, it is customary for AC to be an additional cost anywhere you will travel and utilize hostels within Central America. Often times you will see a double private for $20 and double private with AC for $30. Here we simply offer it at check in!!! Thank you so much for your nice words about the staff...there was a complete change over in staff mid January from a completely English speaking staff and it is nice to know that the new staff are doing well!!! You must have stayed with us on a Wednesday as Diana our administrator is English speaking and her day off is Wednesday...again my apologies for any issues with limited English staff. We are currently working to find more bilingual staff and your comments are very appreciated... The 2 stars really hurts as it statistically drops our rating far more than it sounds your stay was unpleasant. I wish you the best, but am saddened though that you did not fill out a comment card in reception to let us know of your disappointment before you went inline and wrote us here. The comment card wpuld have allowed us to remedy the areas you found unpleasant more quickly. Thabk you Justin, travel safe... Gregory Marzilli owner GM Granada.

An amazing place, especially having the price in mind. The hotel is beautiful especially in the reception and the big eating area. They offer a lot of facilities such as kitchen, laundry, tours, board games etc. It has a good kitchen with all the necessary equipment, and a nice pool and bar area - the pool was bigger than on the pictures. We stayed in a double room with a fan, but you have the option to buy ac. The room was simple, but still with mirror, tables etc. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The receptionist, I think her name was Diana, was amazing and she obviously knew a lot about the area and was very useful to us. It is located about 800-1000 m. from the main plaza, but we felt safe walking around there. In general the hotel offers everything you need(and more) for your stay in Granada to a very fair price.

We stayed two times for a one night in a dormitory (equipped with fans). The place is nice and clean and staff is friendly and helpful (there is a Canadian-Aussie couple so no worries if you dont speak Spanish). I really appreciated quite well equipped kitchen. There is a blender so you can make an own smoothie :). I would definitely recommended the place to a friend.

Go for it! Located close to the bus station, lovely renovated, clean and with swimming pool allowing to cool down during a warm day. The city centre is few minutes walk, not too demanding. Staff were friendly, everyone English speakers, really helpful. Very good value for money, so far one of the better hostels we stayed at in Nicaragua.

We had a lovely stay here. Room and bathrooms were fine and kitchen was great. Pool table and swimming pool are fun and the pet turtles are super cute! Bit further away from town but an easy walk in. Staff were lovely also!
