Detailed Reviews
Writing this review from a point of as a single woman traveler.
Stayed at Holywater for exactly one week .
This hotel is not in the main , loud, dirty Lakshman or Ram Jhoola side but on the more expensive , quiet refined side of Rishikesh called Virbhadra.
However, the plus point is you are Rs 20 away from all the action of Lakhsman /Ram Jhoolas etc by their local tuk tuk or Vikram.
The place is extremely safe with well lit streets which was very important for me.
The beauty of this place is you walk out and you are onto the famed Astha Path which is the beautiful promenade connecting all of Rishikesh together. Walking on this path in the early mornings or evenings with the cold brisk air is simply wonderful after being used to covid masks.
Now the hotel :
From the moment I arrived check in was smoothly done.
Receptionists Megha and Parmendra were extremely helpful with everything i wanted. They are not just handling the reception but are your local tour guides as well.
Nothing is ever a no and they are always smiling.
The rooms are extremely clean special thanks to Anita . She thoughtfully kept a couple of extra sachets of coffee for me every day.
However, the rooms could do with some improvement in the lighting aesthetics like softer lamps instead of the brighter lamps.
Since i had taken a breakfast and dinner combo package here is also the review of Varr their in-house restaurant:
Loved the decor, the huge copper thalis and the over all presentation which gives you that unique Indian feel.
The food is fantastic on some days, some days its a hit and miss, A simple poha can be excellent today and really not so good and chewy after 2 days.
Menu for breakfast and dinner is the same every alternate day.Since it is completely veg there are no other options except cold muesli or cornflakes and toast.
The desserts however made by their inhouse halwai are consistently fabulous.
The wait staff needs to pull up their socks. Because it takes a long time between the order and delivery. Wait time between starters and main course is also quite a bit.
Altogether this is an extremely fantastic effort from the General Manager MR DEEP and the Vice President Mr JOYDEEP.
Both were always around to ask how I was doing, listened to my complaints / suggestions and implemented them immediately.
JOYDEEP special thanks for helping me extend my stay by a couple of days.
Would i stay here again?
Yes many times over.
Since this chain is also expanding to other cities would definitely want to stay in their other places as well due to their quality and consistency.

If you love the idea of being tucked away in a peaceful spot with a stunning view of the mountains, “Holywater” by Ganga Kinare is perfect for you. The hotel is decorated beautifully in muted tones and a simple, fuss-free aesthetic. Uniquely built, the hotel has a beautiful authentic pure veg restaurant, spa for relaxing, terrace for morning views and sunsets and rooms overlooks the adjacent mountains and river Ganga. The food was perfect 5/5 and the hotel is safe and sanitized following WHO guidelines and Stay Safe Council standards.

Small , very nice property owned by Ganga Kinare . Located on the opposite side of River Ganga. We stayed in Devnadi Family room which is big enough and comfortable for 4 Adults to stay . Property is very clean with good vibrations. It's parent property is located 200 meters away on the other side of the road .(ganga Kinare's rear side facing Ganga) . Food is delicious . We enjoyed Temple style Breakfast & Lunch Buffet. Anyhow Lunch is not worth for Rs.750 + Taxes if you are not a good eater . They have good courtesy of distributing Holy Ganga water in a nicely packed Glass bottle during Check-out. The front look of the hotel may not look attractive but the vibe inside the hotel is excellent . We will book this property again (or Ganga Kinare) during our next visit to Rishikesh .

The hotel ambiance and staff are the highlights. Staff were very friendly and quick to respond. The location is ok ok. We stayed in the largest room they had, so the space was nice. The breakfast was decent but not extraordinary. Restaurant food felt a bit pricey but has a unique menu. Taste was good. The overall experience was great and would recommend it.
Another plus point is they use glass bottles instead of plastic. Kudos!

This is the second property by Ganga Kinare Hotels and is very close to Hotel Ganag Kinare and also the Ganga ghat. The location and amenities provided are excellent.Holy water is a very good option if one doesnt have the budget for Hotel Ganga Kinare and comes with all the facilities provided at the Ganga Kinare. you are allowed access to all the amenities like spa, activity area and the Ganga aarti at the Ganga Kinare, without any extra cost which is a big thumbs up.Hotel staff is cordial and well trained. Everyone from the front office at Holywater, restaurant Varr and the housekeeping staff are very polite and helpful. We loved the hotel embossed car provided for our sightseeing and the service by the driver. This is the number one place to stay in Rishikesh for someone looking for comfort, great location, well behaved staff and comes at a very reasonable price.Basically a 5-star experience without the 5-star price.
The best surprise was the Ganga Jal in sealed bottles given by the hotel at the time of checkout and was a perfect gift from this holy place. My wife and I loved our entire stay.

It was really an amazing stay at HolyWater, we have visited this month and staff is really generous and helpful. The location is just apt for those who wants to see ganga and enjoy a walk near the river ganges. The hospitality was really amazing, it was our first time visit to rishikesh but it didn't felt like because of the staff and it's people. Mr Maan sigh, aajay Choudhary, Amit Rayal, and his whole team for serving us food which is like really delicious and lovely. Everyone from the front office at holywater, restaurant Varr and the housekeeping staff are very polite and helpful. This is the place to stay in rishikesh for comfort and great location. Would Love to come again and againagain, we really enjoyed our stay in this hotel.

Relentless work pressure due to the COVID situation at the hospital, made me drive out with wifey and kid to Rishikesh.
Since we had decided late, the long weekend made the taak of getting a decent hotel difficult, almost everything was sold out. Then we chanced upon Holywaters by Ganga Kinare. We had stayed at GK before and loved it, so we got interested in this place managed by them.
Made the booking through Booking.com and chose the family room.
Started from Noida at around 8 am, the drive was lovely for the greater part of the trip, barring a few diversions due to on going construction of the highways. Use and follow Google map. The surprise was the drive through Rajaji National park and then the Chila Dam road. It's breathtaking, the road is newly laid. It also avoids the entire traffic of the Haridwar-Rishikesh road.
Check in was smooth, Parvinder was so cooperative, so was the lady at the reception.
The room was big and spotlessly clean with nice decor. All covid protocol was being maintained. They also have a basement parking.
From the room you get to see the hills and partly the Ganges. It has a nice balcony too.
The highlight of our stay was the food. The restaurant Varr, provides thalis based on temple food. On day one we were served Badrinath food, and on day two, Braj bhoomi. The food is served in beautiful brass utensils and the variety and quality is amazing. The service is so courteous, it makes the whole experience even more worthwhile.
The hotel is very well located and the Triveni Ghat is about 2.5 kms away. You can get access to the amenities of the Ganga Kinare hotel just about 5 mins away. The riverside walkway ia just across the road.
Overall a lovely experience and at a lesser cost than Ganga Kinare.
The winning note is struck by the quality of service, the cleanliness and sophistication.
If you are visting Rishikesh, stay here.

Nice to stay there , enjoyed Ganga Aarti at their sister concerned property Hotel Ganga Kinare,
They provides pickup and drop within the two hotels as complimentary, one can get auto rickshaw easily to roam around and to avoid the traffic , they provides handmade soaps which is really good, Their restaurant Varr serves temple food which is really good in taste.
Special mention to Pankaj and shubham , who arranged our jungle safari and made our stay memorable.
Will definitely visit again soon.

We are a family of 6 who travelled from Mumbai and spent 2 days in Rishikesh
The hotel is 35 minutes away from the nearest airport which is Dehradun Jolly grant. Overall we had a good stay, staff and service is really good, you feel they care and their humbleness is what we liked the most.
We arrived around 1130 am, we were quickly checked in, only one room was ready at the time, the second room was ready in next one hour. Room is clean, dont think i wish they look into is the vent in the bathroom is common for all rooms i feel. Their was a strong cigarette smell in the bathroom and it existed the entire time, sometimes getting stronger specially at night
the hotel allows you to attend the Ganga aarti they conduct in their sister property Ganga Kinare. We did attend the ganga aarti on our first evening and we are glad we did ! it was a small get together of the hotel guest and the aarti was a positive experience of our stay. Thank you for this !
I had a meal plan (breakfast and dinner) included in our room rate, their restaurant Varr has temple theme based thali. Which was quiet an experience. though the same thali is available for both lunch and dinner we were glad we only booked on half board or else would have to eat the same meal both times : ) no issues with the Thali, it was a very good experience but not sure if we would want to eat the same food twice a day. service and hygiene again is very well maintained which I personally appreciate a lot. Breakfast was also good, you can experience indian breakfast options like Dosa, Puri, also they had Muesli available. fruits were limited but nothing to complain about. Options are limited but whatever they have is good.
The only negative experience I had was with the rickshaw driver the hotel arranged for us the second day, the hotel confirmed us the fare before calling the auto and we confirmed it. however later in the evening the driver over charged us and was extremely rude, I did inform Megha and the gentleman at the reception about this experience as Megha had arranged this driver for us. Megha was really helpful during our stay. Tourist rely on hotels and the services they provide, this particular incident didn't go well with me and I strongly recommend that this driver shouldn't be called for guest usage purpose.
Overall as I mentioned it was a pleasant stay, and we were given Ganga water as a farewell gift which is a very thoughtful gesture, we will definitely stay again whenever we return to Rishikesh.
