I booked 2 rooms based on the positive reviews. Susan was very helpful with the booking process-we requested one room downstairs. Upon arrival Jeff showed us round, and on finding out that one couple was celebrating an anniversary, brought us a bottle of bubbly to share. Our rooms were beautifully decorated, comfortable and quiet. They were larger than they look in the photos. Breakfast was a great selection, with enough choice to satisfy everyone. Easy walking distance to shops and restaurants (we liked Fellini's) and a short drive to Monticello. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks Susan and Jeff, Liz C
Leathers-Snyder is a beautiful, restored inn that is convenient to the downtown mall area of Charlottesville. It is easy to access and within walking distance of many great restaurants and art galleries and shops. The staff is friendly and helpful and willing to accommodate food allergies and any other needs of its guests. We highly recommend staying here! Wonderful!!
I really enjoyed my 3 night stay at Leathers-Snyder Bed & Breakfast in Charlottesville. It is conveniently located about 3 blocks from the Mall and is an easy walk to good restaurants and entertainment and the free trolley to UVA. Susan and Jeff are very friendly and accommodating and I was impressed by their breakfast. My room was comfortable, spacious and clean. As a solo traveler, I felt much more comfortable staying here instead of a standard boring hotel. I highly recommend the inn if you ever need a place to stay in Charlottesville.
This was the perfect location for many of my daughter's bridal party to stay for an extended wedding weekend. And it soon turned into the perfect wedding headquarters for other special activities. The bridal luncheon was served from the spacious kitchen, and the beautiful sun room was where the 6 bridemaids and bride had lunch, did their make up and talked about the excitement of the day. As mother of the bride, this spacious, comfortable Inn and its gracious host Susan, made me relax and enjoy all the beautiful memories the weekend had in store for me.
We stayed one night at this B&B in Charlottesville and enjoyed ourselves. The room was nicely furnished and comfortable. The location is pretty good, less than a 5-minute drive from downtown attractions and UVA; about the only complaint we had was that the street noise was a minor distraction, but not too bad. Breakfast, though advertised as 'continental' was a lot better than what one might expect, with fresh fruits, baked breads, etc. Also, the price was quite reasonable. Unless perhaps you are a really light sleeper, we highly recommend this inn.
The host couple are very kind and nice. They have given our family memebers all convenience for their visit. We love their healthy breakfast very much. (Fresh fruits, jucie, unsweeten homemade cake, cereals, eggs, etc. )
I rented all four rooms for my mother, brothers, and my sister's family for my son's wedding. It worked perfectly as a central family gathering place where we could sit and talk in a cozy setting. Everyone enjoyed the stay. Susan and her husband were gracious host and were very accomodating.
Stayed for one night - accommodation was clean, good and unpretentious. Our host was relaxed friendly and was good enough to make us early breakfast so we could make an early start. I would stay here again next time i visit Charlottesville - no fuss, no hassels
I didn't actually stay at Leathers-Snyder but for my recent wedding situated several of my bridesmaids and close family there. They all raved about the accommodations and especially the breakfast that was served Saturday morning. But the best part was I chose to get ready at the B&B. The spacious sun room gave me and my girlfriends plenty of room to do our make up and we took over the kitchen to set up lunch and champagne. My photographer photographed my dress in the main room and said the setting was perfect and that the sunlight in the sun room was going to make for great photos. It was the ideal place to start my day!
I stayed one night with my husband and baby. Susan was a great hostess and the breakfast was delicious, especially the home-made cake! Our rooms were comfortable, spacious and beautifully decorated. We were made to feel very welcome. Overall I would highly recommend this B&B.
