Lovely hotel, food was perfect for us and kept the kids happy, the hotel and pool area was very clean. Lots of activities for the kids going on throughout the day and evening entertainment for them too. This themed hotel is aimed at children under 12 so fitted our needs perfectly as we just wanted a break whilst our older son was snowboarding with the school.

Staff were super helpful, including the manager and entertainment manager who greet you upon arrival. We thought this was a nice touch! The rooms all overlook the pool but are all double glazed so as soon as you shut your door there’s no noise. Two lifeguards on duty at the pool so felt very safe with the children, and a couple of water slides added to the fun. The beach is a 5 minute walk down the road and is very nice.

Only niggle for us was it felt at times like the hotel wasn’t geared up for the amount of guests. Not enough tables and chairs and definitely not enough sun loungers. This isn’t helped by families reserving 5 when all their kids do all day is play in the pool. Never the less we overcome this by spending most daytimes on the beach and returning around 330pm and always managed to find 2 :-).

Definitely recommend visiting and we will be retuning I’m sure, but if your reading this pirates village just buy some more tables, chairs and sun loungers!

Lovely hotel, very clean and tidy with very friendly helpful staff who I couldn't fault and can only compliment. The rooms are a bit basic in the kitchen area but that didn't bother us as we ate out mostly as we were self catering. The lifts were a bit intermittent in serviceability but this only bothered us when we needed to move our cases.

The hotel is in a great location only a few minutes walk from the town centre with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants close by including McDonalds which really pleased our 8 year old! We also got a taxi to Magaluf a couple of times which was less than 10 euros and took around 10 minutes. The first time we went to Blackbeards Restaurant which was lovely, the second time was to see the pirate show which was an excellent night

The pool is fantastic and the slides were a big source of fun for us, not too racy for our 8 year old but quick enough when aided by a floaty!

The negatives for this are all guest related. Firstly the sunbed situation. People getting up ridiculously early to reserve a spot around the pool even before the sunbeds became available. We usually got the pool around 12ish with no hope for a bed but also at times struggled for a bit of space. Every day there would be beds covered in towels but not being used for hours, in fact one day a family didn't use theirs until 4pm! We didn't realise you could ask staff to find you a bed until our last day. Nobody had told us. And this is British behaviour, not German! The photo below showing towels was taken at 630 am as we were leaving for our coach back to the airport.

The slides are an accident waiting to happen. They are not marshalled so children obviously don't understand the concept of waiting and I saw a few near misses when someone didn't get down quick enough and got taken out by the next kid down. So much so that I would only go down after my daughter so I knew it was safe. This could be avoided if parents got off their arses, put their beer down and watched their kids. One day the lifeguard had to carry a young girl who must have slipped on the concrete steps to the slides because her chin was cut and bleeding everywhere. No idea where the parents where.

Another worry was at night during the entertainment we saw kids moving the pool guards to retrieve balls from the pool and also climbing on the pool furniture (the shipwreck in the small pool). Very dangerous and no parents keeping a watch.

Lastly at the end of each day the pool area was an absolute tip, full of plastic glass, bottles, crisp packets etc all left for the hotel staff to clean up. Why people cant put things in the bin is beyond me! See the 2nd photo.

If it wasn't for guest behaviour I would be back in a shot

First off just WOW!!! this is our 5th visit to Pirates Village and we were a bit unsure as what to expect with covid having brought on some staff changes, this didn't last long as we arrived to hugs and as always massive smiles. Mo is a real life superwoman never stops and is always making sure the guests are greeted with a massive smile that light up any room.
The reception staff are second to none no matter what you are looked after nothing is to much hassle, from the minute you arrive to the day we left, even leaving the desk to say goodbye and take care as we were boarding the coach with a hug for the whole family.
The entertainment staff are next level Lucas is like a hyperactive kid on a sugar rush, Robbie is amazing with kids as is all the kids club staff. kids club is very secure behind a locked door where a parent signs the child in with your room number and a phone number which they ring you on if your child wants to leave and must be signed out by an adult!!!.
Nerea (the witch) Amazing, funny, great with the kids and is a great addition to the staff instantly formed a friendship...

Food is amazing there is always something on offer whether it is from the restaurant or the poolside snack bar.

now onto the rooms which are kept clean by the amazing band of cleaners at pirates village plenty of space for what is needed beds are comfy and towels and bedding are changed regularly every room is facing the pool and all upper floor rooms have a balcony every room has AC a kitchen and fridge with ice box.

the pool and surrounding grounds are cleaned every day and in my opinion most of the time those staff are overlooked by guests and deserve the recognition for keeping pirates village clean and safe.
the main door is manned at all times by security and only guests of pirates village are allowed into the hotel adding to the safety of your family/children.

all i can say is get up, get involved with activities and shows don't just lay there topping up your tan children aren't children for long, make memories that will stick with them and make it a holiday to remember.

until nest time Pirates Village you were amazing and see you ALL for visit number 6

Just got home after 11 nights at the Pirates Village, we stayed self catering, 2 adults and 3 kids (9, 11, 14)  the room was just too small for us all. As far as I'm aware all of the rooms are the same which consists of a bedroom and a kitchen area where the 3 kids slept.
The air conditioning only seemed to have one temperature which was about -40 and it gave us all a sore throat every morning but it was too hot to leave it off.
I wasn't impressed with the staff at the hotel, I found the bar staff very rude and unhelpful. The Scottish lady that worked there was very helpful though and the Pirates were pretty sound too. You could only pay by cash at the bar which I found strange for this day and age.
The rooms were not cleaned very well, the maids would empty the bins and change sheets and towels but they wouldn't clean or sweep up, this really annoyed me.
The pool doesn't open until 10am and closes at 6pm. and you get asked to get off your sunbed at 6pm too so they can pack them away.
The hotel isn't in a good location if you are self catering and planning on going out and about on an evening as all of the restaurants are a 15 minute walk away.
If you're all inclusive they shut the bar at around 10pm. The all inclusive drinks were very limited and you had to pay for cider and bottled lager (if you had cash)
The hotel has a decent pool and splash area for the kids and to be fair the lifeguards are very relaxed and don't mind you doing frontflips/backflips but apart from that it doesn't offer much to keep the older kids entertained after 6pm.
There are safes in the rooms but you have to pay for them, we had a TV with no remote so I assume you had to pay for that too.
Hairdryer in bathroom, shower was good and powerfull.
No iron.
Electric hob in our room was in a sorry state and took a while to heat up.
In summary, If you have very young kids and stay all inclusive it would be a cheap enjoyable holiday howether I won't return to the pirates village but will return to Santa Ponsa as its a great resort. I will try to stay either side of the bay so I'm close to the beach and restaurants.

Where do i start from walking in the doors we had a room change sat on the Toilet Seat it fell off , on the Balcony there was a Smashed Glass & a Dirty Towel Staff at Reception were very good & sorted it straight away Mo & Beverley were the only members of Staff who were friendly Bar Staff were really rude & be aware this Hotel is NOT fully inclusive therefore we bought drinks most of the time infact we bought 2 Bottles one Day whilst sitting around the Pool & a Male member of Staff would not take the Bottle Lids off for us we asked & he point blank said NO there was a fixed Bottle Opener behind the Bar
Food was atrocious & at Dinner Food started at 1pm & one of the children in our Party had a bowl of Fruit taken from him at 12.58 pm which i found highly rude considering this is supposed to be a Family Orientated Hotel
Not one of the Bar /Canteen Staff ever Smiled they were highly rude. Cleanliness in the Rooms were not very good at all from the Day of arrival there was spilt Coke on a bench & it was still there on the day of departure
Electric card wouldnt work so was given another one second one was playing up so called Reception sent a cleaner up banged on the key card fob, did not even say hello, there you go bye or any contact which again was very rude! The astro turf around the pool was filthy. Also be aware that it is not noted it is a cash only hotel, no card payments at all. Would strongly not recommend this hotel.

With regards the room, the fridge was rusty, wardrobe broke, cot in tatters and there was a hole in the ceiling (filled with tissue paper). The cleaners have days off in this hotel, with rooms being cleaned only on certain days. I have never heard of this in other hotels personally and it was particularly difficult as most people we spoke to had stomach bugs there, including ourselves.

The frontage of the hotel is impressive to be fair, but it feels very cramped inside. The interior is underwhelming with very little to entertain the kids.

I’d say the pool was impressive, if not for being stupidly overcrowded with people and inflatables. Sun Loungers are gone by 8am leaving people fighting over the broken ones which never seem to get chucked.

The outside entertainment was suspended due to local’s complaining and so they moved what little entertainment there was inside the smallest of interior rooms. This was a frightening experience for the kids (and parents) as youngsters were petrified of the pirates in such a congested setting, with no-way of getting to the door (it was carnage).

The cocktails were fantastic that we purchased. The only issue with them was that you had to go through the dining area which smelt of sick. Not sure what the smell was exactly, but it was there during all our stay and meant we never considered eating there.

To end on a positive the double beds were massive and comfortable and the rooms very soundproof.

We spent 7 nights at pirates village all inclusive, we arrived at around lunch time and upon arrival the room wasn't ready so we had to store our luggage in the luggage room. First impressions was that the pirate theme inside and outside of the hotel was spot on!
We were then hastily told to pay the resort fee and to fill in our own guest information forms, I would have expected this to be done for you prior to arrival.

We stayed in a family suite on the 1st floor, the kids room was great with 2 sets of bunk beds, a TV and mood lighting. The main bedroom/living area wasn't great! The bathroom is basically in the bedroom, the shower and toilet area is enclosed in a frosted glass but this has a striped clear glass design to it which means you can see through into the toilet, meaning that you can see whoever is using the toilet from the bedroom. It's a terrible design and feels almost like when the room was designed they forgot to build the bathroom and then it was thrown in, in a really badly designed after thought.

We were all inclusive, this was great for drinks but food was a bit repetitive and not particularly good quality, there's certain food and drinks items that isn't included in "all inclusive" it seems that if you want the good stuff then you have to pay for it. The food in the restaurant is all uncovered and multiple times I saw flies on the food. There was also never any ice in the ice bucket for the all Inc guests (might seem petty but when it's 36 degrees out, you want ice) there's also no ice lollies included in "all inc".

The pool area is just not big enough for the amount of guests, there's no where near enough beds or parasols, I find it really bad that guests have to actually go out and buy their own parasol to ensure they have one. The sunbeds aren't unlocked until 9am but guests are down from about 6am putting towels down on the floor to reserve the spot they want! Pools aren't opened until 10am which in my opinion is ridiculous especially when you have kids that have been up since 7am, hot and wanting to get in the pool. The pools are dirty with moldy grout and moldy pool grids, the astro turf isn't stuck down so there are edges sticking up all over the place just waiting to trip someone up, the pool with the slides in are not deep enough especially with the speed you get spat out of the slide, you end up hitting the bottom of the pool.

Also theres no aircon in the communal areas e.g receptions and restaurant....

I stayed in pirates village in 2018 and it was a fantastic holiday, entertainment by the pool, pirates shows, evening entertainment every night and was overall a wonderful time. So having such a great time I booked it for my sons 6th birthday, we travelled in May.
We arrived in the evening time and had a lovely greeting by staff, check in handled promptly. You aren’t informed about the remote at check in but I remembered from my first stay so requested it on check in. It’s €20 deposit which you get back at check out.
Lifts were working for the first day and then were a hit or miss and didn’t go to the ground floor. This wasn’t fixed during our stay.
The Pool : the pool is absolutely freezing, so cold you couldn’t swim for long and it was late afternoon before it was bearable. Pool doesn’t open until 10am which is late considering kids are generally early risers. The pool had absolutely no entertainment, one day a lifeguard had a water fight with kids and that was it for the whole stay. Pool closes super early, staff asking you to tidy up and leave the sunbeds from 5pm. If you had a trip or beach day you didn’t get time at the pool.
Entertainment: when queried about no evening entertainment we were informed that due to complaints locally regarding noise their entertainment had been shut down. Kids making the most of it playing on the pirate stage and adults chatting but definitely a big miss. Previous stay had excellent entertainment and well worth paying the extra for whereas now I don’t see the value for money.
Staff: the staff at reception were very friendly and helpful and the majority of staff at the pool bar and restaurant friendly.
Cleanliness: I found it very clean, rooms cleaned and towels changed regularly and hallways and stairs kept clean. Funny smell at the back stairs going into the restaurant.
Food: food was good, drinks and snacks had good variety.
Rooms: rooms were clean, comfortable bed and big wardrobe. Ants were a problem in the kitchen.
Fridge froze everything. Our shower leaked and the head was broken but we made it work.
Overall it’s a nice hotel and Santa ponsa is a great destination but with early pool closure and no entertainment I don’t think it’s worth the price you pay.
Location: location is great, supermarket a two minute walk away and a store selling floaties and loads of stuff for kids right across the road. A lovely short walk to the beach and Main Street of Santa ponsa.

Just returned from a week in Santa Ponsa and stayed at the Pirates Village.
The hotel is a family hotel, and very accommodating to children. They are a variety of activities throughout the day for the children. They is also a kids club within the hotel. The hotel is very strict on safe guarding the children. No child is allowed to leave or enter the hotel without an adult.
The only negative I can say about the hotel is the swimming pool. It is absolutely FREEZING!! Due to this- my children did not enter the pool, at all. But some children were quite happy playing and swimming in it.
We went all inclusive. The food is amazing, plenty to choose from, and they also have standard children's food available, chicken nuggets, chips, etc.
Although they are snacks available between meal times, there is a charge for chicken and chips , of 4euro. Burger and chips, and hot dog and chips are free within all inclusive.
The entertainment is mostly for the children. Mini Disco followed by a play or an act. The hotel is lovely and clean. We only had a small issue with the cleaners not leaving fresh towels, but we just got them from reception.
Overall, a great family holiday. We will most certainly return in the future.

My experience at Pirates Village Hotel in Santa Ponsa was extremely disappointing and it stinks. The hotel's poor standard, lack of maintenance, and overall unsafe conditions made for a very unpleasant stay. From the moment I arrived, it was evident that cleanliness was not a priority. The bedrooms were only cleaned every few days, and even then, the job was not done properly. Cracks, mould, and dirt were found everywhere, giving the hotel an unhygienic feel. Infact it was disgusting.

Adding to the list of issues, the equipment provided in the rooms was faulty. The broken kettle and missing door on the security safe were clear indicators of a lack of attention to guest comfort and safety. When I voiced my concerns and requested a different room, the hotel staff offered another room that was identical, raising doubts about the management and owners perception of quality.

The hotel's staff seemed overworked, and the overall culture within the establishment appeared problematic. Bed sheets were changed, but they were often ripped and stained, possibly due to issues with the laundry company, according to the reception. The bathroom, after being cleaned, actually smelled worse, highlighting the inadequate cleaning standards.

While the entertainment was acceptable, it was far from impressive. The activities were standard and lacked creativity. It became evident that the lack of investment from the hotel's leadership and management was holding back the staff from delivering a better experience.

The hotel was overrated and overpriced for the poor quality it offered. Moreover, it was severely understaffed and not properly maintained, making the overall experience even worse. Finding a sunbed or a clean area was a struggle due to the lack of rules and discipline around this matter.

The food was terrible and lacked quality. The hotel's decor was also subpar, with cracks, mould, and foul smells throughout the premises. The cleaning staff appeared to be undertrained and lacked proper auditing. They seemed to do the bare minimum, leaving the rooms in a filthy state.

The only positive aspect of my stay was the efficient air conditioning, but unfortunately, that was not enough to compensate for the numerous issues plaguing the hotel.

It is evident that the hotel tries to portray itself as a fun and rough "pirate" experience to justify its shortcomings and lack of investment. However, this strategy does not excuse the hotel's numerous problems, which negatively impacted my vacation. It is clear that they have been and continue to get away with zero investment and poor standards and brand this as "pirates".This is really sad and quite frankly foolish. People are not stupid and I will not be suprised if this "hotel" exists in the future.

In conclusion, I strongly advise against staying at Pirates Village Hotel in Santa Ponsa. The hotel's poor standards, lack of cleanliness, and overall disregard for guest comfort make it an experience that will likely ruin your holiday. I recommend considering other hotels, even if they may cost a bit more, to ensure a pleasant and enjoyable vacation.

We booked a ground floor room for 2 adults 2 kids. I don't know about the others, but the rooms higher than ground floor have balconies rather than terraces and the balconies have much less space. So depends what you need/want really!
