Detailed Reviews
The couple that runs this hotel is friendly and helpful (and own a lovly dog) We stayed 7 nights and each night we had a different dinner. breakfast was good and lunch too. The rooms were clean, the bathroom too. No airco, but that wasn't necessary because at night the air was cool. Lots of things to do for sportive people in the neighborhood (Walking tracks, swimming pool, cable cars) but also some small nice medieval towns to visit.

Good restaurant, friendly welcome by the owners, good place for a short as well as longer stay.
Stairs fom the parking space to the rooms t.b. considered. Silent room with good view to the mountains.
Perfect starting place for hiking tours.

As much as I liked Valmorel, that much I disliked Hotel Du Crey.
Lazy stuff: when breakfast runs out at 9h00: bad luck., when the coffeemaker breaks down: add a post-it 'out of service', ... this is no service at all. Seems like the only thing they are interested in their own lazy life.
Food was awful every day during our 3 day trip.
And most important: don't let the fullboard fool you: if you pay for dinner, you'll have to make your picnic-package your own, using the leftovers from breakfast.
Nevertheless: Valmorel is a nice skiïng area, just pick another hotel.

I've read some really different stories about this hotel. Some say it is excellent others poor I'm sorry I've to agree with the people that say "poor". We stayed there for a week. The room was very very basic and small. They only cleaned it once at our arrival. The other days they only came to empty the trashbin and (if needed replace the towels). So every morning after we used the bathroom we cleaned it ourselves a bit (not something you have to do when you are staying in a hotel ??). One day there weren't enough towels (because they had a small washingmachine and no extra towels) so our friends with 4 people only got 3 towels. At the reception they said "people shouldn't trow their towels away so fast...
We didn't get a lot of information at arrival we had to ask everything.
The drain of the shower didn't work that well.
Wifi only works downstairs not in the rooms.
Breakfast was ok. Dinner was simple but ok.
I can not say this is a 2 star hotel.
Still Valmorel is great and we had a lovely time there. We might go back there..... but we'll stay in another hotel that's for sure

Me and my partner stayed during the Easter holiday at hotel Chalet du Crey at Valmorel. Le crey is a little part down the road to Valmorel and we couldn't ski to the hotel anymore because the snow had melted. We slept in the annex building on the second floor. The rooms were a bit small but the bed and closet were nice, the bathroom was perhaps a little too small for 2 grown adults. The breakfast and diner aswell as the lunchpackages were really good. And the All inclusive bar was a succes. I would recommend the skiing area for beginners with a lot of bleu and red pists. Hotel price/quality was also very nice. Only Belgian staff.

+1
We stayed here with a group of 35 persons via Skiworld. We arrived on Friday morning and had a breakfast included after the welcome words from the owner: Herman. He had a lot to tell, but did it in a joyful manner. Good thing is that you could already go to your room, although it had not been prepared yet, to change into your ski outfit. We stayed in B4 a twin with a bathroom and enough closets to survive 3 days of skiing and partying...Partying is possible here because of the free bar that starts at 1600, stops at 1930 for diner and then continues until 2300, after which the bar closes strictly at midnight.
We stayed in the next-door-building, which obviously doesn't have the amount of water availability as the main building. The second day before dinner there was no water available anymore to shower.
The last day we could store our luggage in 1 room, although for 50 persons that's a lot of luggage, and take a shower after skiing that day.
Breakfast buffet is well equipped...so I totally disagree with jhml. He obviously didn't listen to Herman when he mentioned at his welcome speech that breakfast will continue to be filled up until 0930. After that you'll have to deal with the left-overs. You are here to ski/snowboard, not to stay in bed until that time!
You may even prepare a lunch packet and aluminium-folio, water and plastic bags are provided.
Since it looks like this place is only for sleeping-bus-groups, I wonder if you can book this place privately.
Although this place is not located in Valmorel itself, the free bus service brings you there within 5 minutes.
Free internet.
Staff are students that stay for a couple of months, and they are very friendly and joyful.

With my wife we stayed 2 nights at this Inn, the only one open in Valmorel where everything is already closed from the beginning of September, which in itself is a real scandal! Pension is clean, rooms also, the setting is great, the boss wife very nice and available. In my humble review the can lunch absolutely insufficient for this Award even for 2 stars (no pastries, only 1 yogurt,...). We did not have dinner because the menu is very limited despite what is indicated on the site. Disappointment regarding the manager who “welcomed” us more than freshly and who we did not see afterwards!

We spent 7 days in this Pension run by two friendly and extremely helpful people. We were well received by Christophe. Accompanied by his wife Sylvie, this smiling, dynamic, invested duo took care of us. The family kitchen developed by Sylvie is delicious. Their little dog Darling is a doggy happiness, adorable and affectionate. We are delighted with our stay.
