Stayed here for 2 days. Only has 7 rooms so is very quiet. The outstanding element is the amazing hot tub which overlooks the Alps outside. You can book it for 30 min sessions. One watch out - the wi-fi in room 5 is rubbish, you have to walk over to the door to get a signal. Overall very good

We had a marvellous evening at the Cocoon restaurant « la guinguette » this summer. Everything was perfect: the food, the wine, the atmosphere and the service. The views from the terrasse were breathtaking with a nice glass of white wine looking onto the Mont Blanc. Joey is an amazing thoughtful host who makes sure you spend a wonderful evening.
Can’t wait to go back!

We can’t praise this hotel enough. It’s like we’re staying with our family. Regis, Corine and Joey are so lovely, nothing is too much trouble for them. We took a group of disabled sitskiers on this trip. Regis and Corine transported us to the slope where it was easier for us to ski with the group. Life would’ve been much harder for us without their help.

And Fifi my adopted dog is a absolute angel. Can’t wait to visit them again in April. Biscuits are on order Fifi 😁👍

I have never been on a ski holiday and wanted to leave early before. Our room was small and dark (room 3). Our view was of the car park. Frankly the position of the room would have been best suited to the purposes of a garage. Every night we had to go out to eat as there was only one meal to choose from in the restaurant which was always meat. We were told on the Saturday we arrived that we couldn’t eat that night, or Sunday or Monday but were invited on Tuesday. After a long days skiing, it would have been lovely to be cocooned and go for dinner in the hotel. Instead, we had to get all togged up and walk up the mountain to eat! It was a cocoon, but not in a way that made us feel good! There was no kettle in the room for tea or mini fridge for keeping anything cool. There was no bath. There was no safe in the room. There was no space! On the positive side, the bed was very comfortable; breakfast was good and the hot tub in the afternoon was fantastic after a hard days skiing. The proximity to the chairlift was convenient but a pretty hairy walk when icy. All restaurants were a good 10minute walk up the mountain away. The spar is right at the top of 1800 about a 15 minute walk away. The owners son, Joey was very hospitable and kind. We will not be returning…

Response from Hôtel Le Cocoon, Service clients/Réception at Hotel Le Cocoon
Responded 22 Feb 2022
I am happy that you've made a safe trip back. I am sorry that the room you've reserved for your stay did not meet your requirements but it was the last room of the hotel for your dates ; you've got certainly a description of size and furnitures of the room before you accepted it and it is not written that there is a kettle or a mini-bar in the room. However, the kettle is free of access in the breakfast room... Our Boutique hotel has only 7 rooms and you've got the smallest...I can understand it was not big enough for your long stay. The hotel is made in a big chalet with only 1 floor ; 5 double rooms are on the ground floor and 2 family rooms are on the 1st floor. The outdoor parking is in front of the hotel. There is no other possibilities and people arriving with a car are happy to park close to the hotel and have a view on their car. Concerning the restaurant, we've have been forced to change our card because of a lack of staff. Since the end of january, my husband is alone in the kitchen but he cooks one different meal every day for people willing to eat in... On Sunday, the hotel customers have had a cheese fondue but you have not reserved that day. On Monday, the restaurant was full for Valentine's day and a special menu ; on Tuesday, you didn't reserve a table with us when it was a fish! You can't say it is always meat! There are also 2 different restaurants close to the hotel at 5mn walk not high. I am happy to read that you have enjoyed part of our offer as the bed, the breakfast and the jacuzzi...and the hospitality of our son. And I am very sorry for all the inconveniences you have faced. With my best regards

Just left this fabulous hotel and was extremely impressed. The rooms and views were great but we hadn't expected the thoughtful details and little extras. A sauna and outdoor jacuzzi overlooking Mont Blanc were a big hit with all the family. The owners even organised drinks and canapés around an out door fire and then a private dinner for 8 guests in a little hut with a fire in the middle where they cooked the cote de boeuf and duck to order. Plus delicious starters and puddings. We hadn't asked for any of this so it was a lovely surprise. I haven't written a review before but this hotel deserves a big thank you!

Family dinner at the hotel restaurant on our chalet hosts night off, with a lively 20 month old in tow. The owners and hosts couldn't have been more welcoming and accommodating. Food was superb (the duck was excellent) wine was the best had in La Plagne and from what we saw the hotel would be a top place to stay. This place really deserves to do well, good luck to them.

Went for a long weekend to Cocoon for ski touring in La Plagne, and was hugely impressed with the Cocoon setup; lovely buffet breakfast, 3 course restaurant dinner, time slots for sauna/jacuzzi (overlooking Mont Blanc!) and very comfortable & cozy room and bar/hang out area

The staff (especially Joey) were amazing and really created a 'homely' atmosphere (only has 7 rooms), free from overly draconian covid restrictions but at the same time respectful of the current rules and also any concerns people might have

Also very helpful with recommendations for hiking, ski de fond, ski touring routes given the main lifts/resort are closed atm.

We had a great dinner with 8 in the private cocoon grill chalet. Good food, great atmosphere and owner/chef cooking and animating the discussion, we felt at home

We went for dinner as a group of 12 and the food was lovely. Staff were very friendly and attentive.
One minor negative comment is they don't really cater for children.
It is a quite expensive restaurant compared to others and when we queried what a veggie fondue would be they advised it would be bread and salad. Needless to say we didn't have the veggie fondue!
If staying in Plagne 1800 then it's worth a visit, as a treat.
