Hotel's Favourite
Recently stayed at this hotel situated on the piste at les arcs 1800. Fantastic location and superb service. The hotel rooms are a little tired but immaculate and clean. As if the hotel was more than just very very good and perfectly located, the food was on a different level absolute 1st Class everything presented was of the highest quality. The head chef Mr Pierre was always on hand to be certain the standards were always maintained. The all inclusive deal with this standard of cusine was very special indeed. A bargain for the cost effective public. Well done Mr Pierre you made our holiday that extra special we WILL be back.

We stayed at this Hotel over the Christmas period and found that the hotel is in a great position very close to the lifts, meeting point for lessons and the ski hire shop. The ski lockers are a great touch, having somewhere warm plus accessible from the Hotel itself makes such a difference at the end of the day and is so convenient. The Hotel reception staff are all very friendly and speak good English. We found the food in the Hotel to be the one thing which really lets this Hotel down, the food was at best lukewarm and the variety on offer was not the best with the kids option always the same few things daily, the free wine with your meals is one saving grace but it would also be nice to have some sort of soft drink option for the kids and any adults who do not drink.
The rooms are a nice size, warm and cleaned regularly with an additional heater in each one should you need to dry things like wet gloves. The bathrooms however are a little odd as they do not have a high up stand for the shower head or a shower curtain so you cannot have a shower, which in these days is often more preferable than running a bath.
Also note there is no free wifi in the rooms unless you upgrade to the VIP package and pay extra so just be aware.
Overall this is a good location for a ski holiday and for us intermediate skiers the slopes are fantastic with lots of long blues and more challenging reds, more than enough to keep us happy.

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your valuable review. We can only thank you for leaving such detailed comments, which not only let us know what we are doing right but also some points we need to improve. Rest assured that all your remarks have been taken on board. We regret that you found our menu limited as we believe we provide a good selection of salad bars, various cold meats, quiche or hot pie, grilled or roast meat, burgers, fish and a variety of homemade desserts. However, we welcome any suggestions that you may have on your next visit. Also, while it is true that a VIP room package includes free WiFi among other advantages, we would like to note that we do also offer free WiFi in our common areas. We would love to welcome back to one of our 58 holiday clubs in France. Kind regards, Jérémie, Service Relation Clients de Belambra

This is a good value, family orientated, hotel in a great location in Arcs 1800.
The staff throughout the Hotel were all extremely good natured with a smile and genuinely looked as if they were enjoying their work.
In my opinion the reviews posted previously generally give a fair assessment of this hotel.
The buffet provided at breakfast and dinner was adequate but the quality of the dishes did vary at times. At peak times the restaurant was under pressure for seating and certain things would run out.
We ate one meal at the Zinc hamburger restaurant which rather lacked atmosphere and tried the raclette in the Mont Blanc speciality restaurant that we enjoyed. When dining at the Mont Blanc you can also choose dishes from the buffet next door. Both these options are included but need booking the day before.
Our room had good views out over the slopes and was adequately sized for 2 people, but would be a tight squeeze for 3 adults. The bathroom is nicely fitted and clean. There is a separate toilet which is rather compact in size. As there is no "proper" shower facility in the room we did make use of the courtesy showers which are situated near the bar toilets.
Drink prices are pretty standard for the French Alps; large beer 6 euros, cocktails 8 euros. An all inclusive drinks package is available for 6 days at 105 euros which can also be used at the Zinc sun terrace at lunchtimes, I will leave it to you to look at the bar prices and do the maths. Be aware that some restrictions do apply.
One thing that does need some attention is that the music played on the sun terrace in the afternoon included very explicit lyrics, which might be very offensive to some English speaking clients. I did mention this to the staff who immediately turned the music off.
One day was a white out and so we took the local free bus to Arc 1600 and took the funicular (ticket included with lift pass) to Bourg St Maurice for a look around. Not too much to see but it helped fill the day.
To reach the livelier bars in Arc 1800 is about a 10 minute walk to the right downhill on pedestrian paths.
To the left of the hotel is the ski pass office (just pass the Bou Bou bar). In this area there is also a Spar supermarket and a pharmacy.
We hired skis and boots from the Skiset shop under the Hotel which can be accessed from the ski locker rooms. We were at the shop at opening time on our first day and a queue was already in place.
The transfer to/from Geneva airport took over three and a half hours due to traffic jams. Geneva airport is disorganised and there are long separate queues for checking in luggage, security and passport control. I recommend getting through all these processes as soon as you can to avoid being late for your flight.
Finally would we use this Hotel again?
Yes we would without hesitation.

Myself and my partner stayed here for a week, we booked through Travelski with a package that included the ski train. Arrived at the hotel early on the saturday, dropped off our bags and got changed in the public changing area within the hotel and got straight on the slopes. They called us to let us know the room was ready at around 3pm and so we could check in from then. The location of the hotel is great, ski in ski out, and the heated locker room is a bonus. We left our gloves in there overnight too to dry them out.
The room was small but clean. We had a double room. More than enough space to hang clothes however and we were able to control the radiator to make the room a good temperature. Lovely view of the mountains out the window. No shower over the bath, only a shower head, but we found we didn't mind this too much as a bath at the end of a day on the slopes helped us feel relaxed.
Food: there was a good range of choice (although burgers were present every day), we had the buffet four nights and went to the Mount Blanc restaurant twice. We had fondue and raclette and both were excellent. The wine was on tap which we took advantage of every night. The buffet did get very busy, and at times you could struggle to find a space. As it was just the two of us we had no problems but we did see several larger groups struggling to find a table together. Again, breakfast was fine with several options such as pancakes and waffles cooked fresh. The after ski snacks and drinks around 5pm were appreciated.
Walking distance to multiple bars and places to eat, as well as several ski shops and souvenir shops. Hotel also has a bar with deckchairs that face the sun which is perfect for Apres Ski - also has the advantage of happy hour from 3-5. The entertainment in the evening wasn't for us really, although one evening we returned from an outside bar and found karaoke ongoing which was fun to observe - there were some great (and some not so great) singers up on the stage!
Overall, we had a great stay at Hotel Du Golf. We would return in the future.

Make sure you ask for drinks package will save you a fortune..If I could give no stars I would…. As a group of 9..On arrival we were greeted at reception after we found the hotel if you can call it that Youth hostel come transport cafe… the exterior of the hotel is like many in Les Arcs… we were not shown to our room so we had to find it with 9 suitcases and 6 boot bags great fun 🤩… the hotel should only be given a one star. The rooms are very dark and dreary one plug socket you can find easily the other plug socket you have to hunt for, total lack of light… one upright radiator that didn’t work… air was to open the window and free but at least you could breathe…. Reception area, bar area boot room are pretty good…. At the welcome meeting that was in french so had no clue, asked a lady with a brown bob and she just basically dismissed me and my family never to return to explain anything… best laugh of all was entertainment was in English… food is just dire breakfast eat of a tray.. hardly any choice for a vegetarian… it’s self service and you clear your tray away if they can’t see your tray they come tell you off, mine was down the side of my chair… dinner or even worse paper tickets needed for entry what a waste of paper must be a better way to do this, we ate out several nights where we could get a booking… food is some of the worst food I have ever seen let alone tasted and no one clears your plates on evening we had 27 dishes stacked up in middle of table. They don’t do plates. I took pictures of the food and was told off. Asked for tomatoes, reply we don’t have any… salad consisted of which was certainly off tuna which made me sick one evening… you have to pay for WiFi in crystal brochure it says WiFi available it should say you have to pay..

Starting with the positives, the hotel is ideally located at the bottom of a lift with the ski hire shop just outside the main entrance. Rooms are okay, good views and tidied every day (not cleaned). Beds comfortable and hotel mostly quiet during sleeping hours but you always get ‘those people’ who aren’t considerate. Water pressure & temperature very good. Ski lockers great. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Some purely miserable.
On to the negatives… the buffet restaurant was the absolute worst part of the hotel. It is totally unenjoyable with people descending into chaos! The staff don’t put any thought into trying to implement a more controlled, calmer process for people to get their food and just run around trying to tidy up just adding to the chaos. People are rude, barging into each other, pushing in etc. As a vegetarian there were no options other than the basic salad that was there every night, and the pasta which sometimes had a vegetarian sauce but not always. The tables were often not set, or half set. Wrist bands and dinner tickets not checked once, totally pointless. Didn’t see any effort to implement covid restrictions other than some people wearing face masks. Could never get a seat in the bar, same people sitting there every night, all night.
Spa meant to be free for crystal ski, but we had to pay €30 due to ‘a breakdown in communication’.
There was a lack of information around the hotel, everything advertised was only in French. We found out about apre ski snacks every day from 4.30pm, from another English couple, but after 3-4 days of our stay so only got it a couple of times.

Overall this hotel is very good, rooms are clean, a extension adapter did help as there are limited plugs and the shower is hand held over the bath (I thought this would be a problem but really wasn’t that bad) staff were all very friendly/helpful and I guarantee the people who have reviewed staff being rude were most likely rude themselves! Food was good for a week stay, yes it’s not fine dining but overall we thought it was good. The drinks package is very good value. If you want a decent clean hotel in an ideal location to get straight on the lifts then I would certainly recommend here. Last point the entertainment/ band they had when we stayed in Feb were brilliant (new band with a very good vocalist and a drummer called Ben!! Please let me know the bands name, if they have one yet!)

The hotel is a bit tired, the staff slow, and the information lacking. We showed up at 10am, but werent allowed to check in until 5pm on the dot. If you want food between meal services, good luck, and the dinner tickets make you feel like you stepped into a time machine back to the 90s. You get 7 tickets per head, and dont lose them. The Spa is not included in the daily rate. We certainly weren't impressed when we checked in.
But this place grew on us over the week. The food is not outstanding but good. The rooms are small but very tidy, and made up daily. Every afternoon during the week they have activities for kids in the room under the bar, and usually there is some kind of afternoon snack. Finally, there is the location, which cannot be beat. Walk out the ski room door, and the lifts and ski school meeting point is right there.
If you want 5-star service, this place is not for you.
If I didn't have kids I wouldn't stay here (or in fact in Les Arcs in general) but with them this is a comfortable, clean, convenient place to stay.

The good: the beds are comfortable and the location is ideal with easy access to the slopes. The staff are pleasant.
The bad: the rooms are small and dated; the shower is hand held over the bath which is suboptimal
The awful: the food!! It's really poor. the choice is very limited and I haven't once had a meal that was hot. Thankfully there was a microwave to heat up the food but the inside of the microwave was disgusting. It's like eating in a canteen and you have to jostle to find a table. If you are lucky there will be enough plates to actually get some food but once you get some you won't know why you bothered despite the food costing you 30 euros per day. Selection so far have included overcooked burgers, overcooked salmon, pizza, chewy beef and chips. We have given up eating in the hotel despite having paid half board and now go out to restaurants.
In addition the communal areas do not seem to be cleaned regularly; the tables in the restaurant are dirty, carpets are stained and the floors in the ski locker room haven't been cleaned for 4 days now and are ankle deep in dirty water.

Good ski in out location. Great food, very helpful staff and clean rooms but a little dated. We went with Inghams (not a good decision as the only part they were involved in was the transfers which they messed up in both directions). Would recommend getting there by ski train to Bourg-Saint-Maurice, then use the funicular from the station to Arc 1600 where there is a free 10 minute bus ride to Arc 1800
