My husband and I were pleasantly surprised by out stay at Hyatt Place downtown Houston. The rooms were large and comfortable and the location was very convenient- just a few blocks from Minute Maid. We will definitely stay here again!
This place is nice and clean and one of the beat hotels I have stayed at. Close to Minute Maid stadium, only 4.5 short blocks away. Breakfast was included so that’s is always a plus. Valet Parking so you don’t have to deal with parking garages.
Nice people and hotel overall. My room was never cleaned not once. No towels given nothing. I wouldn’t advise you to pay for a upper room the view is terrible. We got a brick wall and the top of a parking garage. Oh and I paid more for my room then what was advertised. Whatever.
Perfect location to be for any event. Not too much going on but just enough. Beds super comfy, beautiful bathroom space, a working elevator lol. Super clean lobby and restaurant. FYI Starbucks on sight and didn’t know until check out soo I will be back.
Enjoyed our stay but I know it will be even better when the bar and hot breakfast are available again. The GM did tell us the bar will be opening back up on May 19th. Dang! We missed it by a few days. The views from the bar area are very cool. It’s on the 16th floor. Requested something extra special in the room as a surprise for my spouse. It was out 20th anniversary. They had silk rose petals on the bed. Two small bottles of wine and two glasses. They even left a handwritten note signed by the employees wishing us a happy anniversary which was a great touch. The beds are comfortable to me. Maybe a tad bit firm for some people. The pillows are great if you like feather pillows. I do!! Air conditioning is fantastic (thank God!!) and bathroom was super clean with good water pressure and hot water. Lots of old phones in the common areas which are Super cool. The lobby is nice and still looks so new. Very clean. It’s has a coffee shop and a snack area with a large variety of products. Literally, right next store is a quaint little coffee, breakfast, sandwich, snack, crepe shop! Yummy! The church across the street has a restaurant that serves hearty lunches M-F. Lots of men in suits on their lunch break. You know it’s good if the locals go. Definitely. Walk a block up to Rachel’s Cafe for an awesome Burger at a great price! Been in business since the 50’s. Seriously good burger. Front desk staff are very welcoming, professional and attentive. I enjoy when you have staff that remember you. It feels more personable. Great feeling! Staff also had recommendations for area things to do. Great location as well. We walked to the Astro’s game, the UFC fight and the Bayou Music Center. Will stay here again!!! Soon, I hope IMPORTANT NOTE: Houston is a very large city and there are homeless people all over downtown. We had some ask for a smoke or some change but no one gave us any trouble. Also, a lot of people rent scooters at night and are a little reckless but they are just having fun. Try not to get in their way. Remember when you were young and crazy. Lol. If only I wouldn’t fall over and break a bone, I would scooting with them kids!! Lol Sorry got carried away with my review!! Just go and have some fun!…
