The only downside to this hotel was the extremely long elevator waits. Too many people and not enough elevators for a 14 story hotel. The whole hotel was clean and the few people I saw upfront were friendly and helpful. I felt like there weren’t enough staff but other than that our stay was perfect! Everything we expected! The hotel was in a convenient area for us right across the street from the convention center!
I have previously stayed at this property, but on the Homewood Suites side. On my recent trip to Houston I opted for Hampton because it was such an exceptional value. It's hard to find a good deal these days, especially at a downtown hotel, so I was appreciative of that. Overall the rooms weren't much different than those at the Homewood. Roomy, comfortable, and great views of downtown (at least ours did, we were room #1111). Breakfast was an actual buffet which, if you travel often, then you know this is pretty rare these days. The only thing to be aware of is that valet parking is your only option at $36/night. They are upfront about this, so it's not a hidden fee or anything, but it's worth noting for those people that don't pay attention to such things. A helpful tip about parking: The lot across the street costs less but has all kinds of rules about the start/end times you are paying for, and it does not allow in's and out's. I found the lot to be super shady, so I don't recommend parking here as you will likely opt to move your car to the Hampton parking option due to the hassle. Just pay the $36/night and enjoy the convenience.…
This hotel was awesome! I used the Hilton Honors app to do pre-check in which included getting to select our room. My son wanted to stay on an upper floor & we selected a corner room. It had an amazing view of downtown Houston. We went to the Astros game and the field was just two blocks away. Perfect for a night game. Even paying for valet parking, we saved money on game parking. The continental breakfast has hot items and was consistently stocked and refreshed even though we were were there in the last 30 minutes of breakfast. This was definitely the nicest hotel we stayed in of the six on our roadtrip!
room was not clean! female hair in sink and red body wash in the shower! i called the front desk at 9am because i was checking out early due to the bad experience. i was assured i would receive assistance with the matter before i checked out. however, no assistance and i was charged full rate for a dirty room. not a way to treat customers who are paying for service.
This hotel was great, perfect location if attending astros games and within walking distance to several great restaurants. Short Uber ride to galleria. Most of all the staff was great and the hotel felt and smelled very clean and santi tired. I will be staying here again
