Gaia was a one of a kind experience and during our stay we were treated like royalty. Gregory, Christian, Rudy, Izzy, Shaun, and Freddy went out of their way to make sure that we were cared for and entertained. From customer service all the way to knowledge of the culture, we were well taken care of. We plan to revisit and would recommend anyone and everyone to experience this hidden jewel in Belize!
Absolutely the best service we have had on a vacation. All of the staff we very friendly and did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable and relaxing. Freddy, Sean, jazel, and Calbert were rock stars! Can’t say enough good things about them. Highly recommend Gaia!!!
This place is stunningly beautiful! Love the easy access to the waterfall and love the attention to detail by the staff. I’ve travelled to many places and loved them but the Gaia staff truly gives you the care and attention. When we first arrived to Belize airport, we were met by Darrel and he is so knowledgeable in all things Belize, Gaia, and the culture. While the drive to Gaia was a little long, we stopped at a local convenience store where he introduced to us, plantain chips with ketchup. That was an interesting combo but surprisingly good. To mention the roads to Gaia, all were paved except for maybe the last 10 minutes. During COVID, I believe the roads were paved and so there are no pot holes and crazy gravel other than the last few minutes of the drive. Once we arrived to Gaia, we were met by Kobi and we complimentary fruit juice mixed with rum (super yummy!). Normally, when met by staff at other hotels, you’re rushed to check in and get to your room. At Gaia, we were given time to eat lunch and see the overlook of the Five Sisters waterfall before checking in. Once we were checked in, we were led to our rooms and the landscape is well kept and gorgeous. Luckily where we stayed, wifi reached our room. Originally, I did not think we had wifi in our rooms but maybe they all reach the rooms now. Lunch and dinner is delicious but a little pricey so be prepared for the cost. I would say all the food is freshly made and fruits and veggies are from their garden which is organically grown. We met their gardener, Sam, and wow did he blow my mind with all the gardening tricks and new plants I can grow. I would definitely recommend trying at least one cocktails at Gaia as they are uniquely made for Gaia so you most likely won’t find it anywhere else. The rooms were packed with towels for shower, towels for the waterfall, extra soft blankets, big spray, umbrella, and of course, all the bathroom necessities. I believe all the soap, shampoo, and conditioner were locally made and smell like menthol so if you don’t like that smell, bring your own! Overall, our experience at Gaia was great, we definitely felt safe and comfortable with such friendly staff. Oh as for excursions, we did the Mayan cultural tour and ATM cave, which I recommend the latter. If you want a jungle feel, Gaia is your place but be aware of the $ cost to meals and yours since there’s no other restaurant in the area, unless you have a car. Shout out to Loreni, Nigel, Calvert, Lucy, Darrel, Azel, Chris (great magician), and the rest of the staff for taking care of us.…
Cannot express enough how amazing the staff and lodge is. The food, service, views, experiences exceeded my expectations. Gaia is a very special place. I spent 3 nights on my own and walked away with new friends, relaxed and happy. The excursions are so much fun and perfectly coordinated. The knowledge of the guides made every minute entertaining. Highly recommend.
Our experience at Gaia was by far the most personalized of the 3 experiences we had in Belize and the staff made us feel like family during our stay. The property overall delivers the guest experience exactly as advertised. We felt bathed in casual luxury and naturally beautiful surroundings. We will happily recommend Gaia to anyone asking us about Belize in the future.
Gaia far exceeded my expectations. From the incredible natural landscape to the world class staff, this is a spectacular resort and experience. The resort offers both adventure and serenity. We have traveled the world and Gaia is at the top of my list.
Wonderful experience! Superb location, great accommodations and atmosphere, incredibly nice stuff. And tasty food! Great for relaxing, having a wonderful time in the jungle, by the river and the waterfalls
We are SO glad we decided to do a weekend at Gaia lodge on our trip. This was by far our favorite part of our trip to Belize. The amazing views, landscape, people, and the food made it an incredible five star experience. The team at Gaia is amazing and so accommodating and the food is incredible!!! A special thank you to Calbert who was our guide for our stay, Nigel was a great host, and Chris with the surprise magic show( it’s soooo worth asking to see it). We had a incredible stay and would recommend anyone to see this amazing lodge and area and we will definitely be back!
Beautiful surroundings and accommodations! Sounds of birds, sounds from the river falls, the smell of fragrant flowers, the purity of the air, the diversity of trees ! The warm welcome from the staff ... and the delicious meals from the chef ! Wonderful and relaxing experience ... and memorable excursions in Beautiful Belize!
Gaia Riverlodge is the best place to stay if you want to stay in a peaceful, quiet place in the forest reserve of Belize. Accomodations are great, the view is breath-taking, being able to go swim at the waterfall just down the hill is a treat. The staff is lovely and extremely friendly and professional. We had such a relaxing time there. Cabanas are very private. There were a few guests on the propriety, but we never knew where others stayed as the cabanas are located away from each other. If you can't relax at Gaia Riverlodge, you just can't relax!.. We would love to go back some day.
