I have stayed at Abington Farm twice now in different houses and it has been comfortable and lovely. The farm is beautiful, the hosts are really friendly and the dogs super cute. The most recent stay at The Barn was for my wedding night and everything was beautiful and perfect!
Stayed 3 nights in the 'Barn' accommodation. This rustic accommodation is very roomy and contains all amenities to make for a pleasant stay (including a large spa bath!) Plentiful breakfast supplies are provided and updated daily. We cannot speak to highly of our hosts. They are extremely attentive and helpful. (including transporting us and our bikes to/from Heyfield to join up with the Gippsland East Rail Trail.) Although the rail trail is only 6 kilometers away from the farm, you are required to negotiate a busy main road with minimal shoulder to ride on. Once on the rail trail the bike riding is a dream. The location of the farm is perfect for a quiet getaway. If desired, there are a couple of kiakis available to paddle on the peaceful adjacent river. There is a kilometer or so of unsealed road to travel on before reaching the farm - but you know when you are there as the farm is at the end of the road.…
Had a very relaxing night away on the banks of the river (and a fun walk with the resident dogs in the morning 🐕🐕). If anyone is looking for a quiet mindfulness break - with ample breakfast provisions provided - I can recommend the River House. Clean and bright with plenty of windows to allow guests to enjoy the view. Lots of Foxtel channels. Excellent large spa bath. Friendly owners. We took provisions to cook our own dinner, and spent a wonderful night watching the sunset and the wildlife.
We have treasured every moment here so far...from the friendly hosts to the beautiful landscape by the river. You could not fault it! The accommodation is clean and practical, and the catering for guests impressive. Not only have we been provided with an ample breakfast each day, but entertainment from the two dogs and one of the cats. They joined us on an evening walk by the river! Will definitely visit again. Thanks!
As I wasn’t the one who booked I had no expectations and was amazed to find our stunning studio with floor to ceiling views of the river, fields behind and distant ranges. The cottage was so well equipped with gorgeous bed linen, amazing farm fresh brekky supplies, even hot cross buns as it was Easter and I was thrilled that the easterbunny found us. The bath/spa was a bonus too! The cottage was very private and quiet and our fab host Bernie even came to rescue me and my bicycle. Can’t wait to go back.
