We are one of Scotland's most stunningly situated guest houses and you will find it hard to escape the comfortable beauty that this area presents. The Ferroch Guest House sits elevated on the side of a mountain giving spectacular views of Loch Torridon and its mountains. This former croft house has been lovingly restored and extended to a high standard, thereby creating a home that is cozily domesticated and refreshingly uncomplicated.

We were traveling in Nov, so daylight escaped us as we arrived. Check in was perfect and we received a welcome phone call 30 min after arrival. Self cathering was new to us, but all our needs were available and more than ample. The room, kitchen and lounge were super. The views were fantastic. We had been told by Ferroch that nearby restaurants were closed in Nov, so we brought something to cook (perhaps the Inn was open, but we were bushed so didn't check). Again, November, so it was interesting that we had the whole place to ourselves. Torridon is a hiking mecca which we didn't do, but could easily see the attraction.

My husband and I have stayed here three times now - Ferroch is in a beautiful location, overlooking Loch Torridon. It's a self-catering B&B where breakfast is a help yourself from the fridge experience - all foods are excellent quality. A 10 min walk to the Torridon Inn for dinner.

For my recent trip to Scotland Highland, I came across the Wester Ross region pretty last minute during the planning process. Boy, am I glad I discovered this region, which is part of the NC 500. Staying at Ferroch Guest House was part of what made this journey so memorable. The whole area was so peaceful and quiet. Ferroch Guest House, being a self catered B&B, was something new for me. Other than I went to the wrong part of the building (cottage, rather than B&B), and fiddled around with the key box for a little while, everything was easy enough. The host who happened to be around pointed me in the right direction. Accommodation was first class. I had the room facing the water and mountains beyond. I could sit near the window and stared out for hours. After dusk, I saw not one, but four deers wandering around along the road. Dinner was at The Torridon down the road. It was a busy day I guess, no table available without a reservation. I sat down at the pub, which filled up pretty quickly too. Breakfast can be self-served. I made myself some scramble egg/toast and coffee. Adequate, though I do miss the full Scottish breakfast. Overall, I had a wonder stay at the Furroch Guest House.

I had mixed feelings when I booked Ferroch B&B for one night on out NC500 trip. Any doubts were unfounded. Our room was everything we could have asked for, clean, warm and comfortable. The facilities are really great and although it is on a self help basis it does give you the flexibility and choice to eat what you want and when you want it. We met some lovely people and shared a glass or two of wine whilst comparing notes on our trips. We loved it, thank you.

We started our journey in Pockleton (lovely place), visited a lovely garden and then drove around the beautiful Applecross peninsular. We stopped a little while at Sheildaig and arrived at Ferroch guest house overlooking the beautiful Loch Torridon. Claire had provided me with plenty of information about the DIY B&b snd provided us with the number for the key safe - thankfully this worked. There are 3 bedrooms of which we had booked 2 of them and we had the place to ourselves. This is a very spacious house with a large lounge overlooking the loch and a big, well equipped kitchen. Claire has thought of everything. The bedrooms are very comfortable. We could help ourselves to tea/coffee and there was plenty of food for breakfast. The Torridon Inn/hotel is about 10 minutes walk and we had a lovely meal there. On our way back, we saw red deer down by the loch. The b&b is attached to a self catering cottage and a larger party can book the whole accommodation. For those travelling the NC500 or just visiting Wester Ross this is an excellent place to stay.
