My wife and myself have just spent a totally relaxing night in Taychrregan. This was our second visit this year and again we were not disappointed. The seven mile single track road to the hotel is a lovely drive and when you reach the end of the road, there in front of you is peace and quiet...Taychrregan😁. We were checked in by Michelle and it just felt like being home again. We were made so welcome and we were also staying in the same room as our previous visit. The room (Walter Scott) is spacious with a lovely bathroom and amazing views down the Loch. We sat in the bar and had a relaxing couple of drinks. Just perfect for chilling out. Dinner was delicious with Venison and Halibut for the main courses. Really nice. Yanis (Pardon my spelling) is very sociable and attentive. After dinner we sat down by the firepits and had amazing views of the stars in the jet black sky. There is even rugs and padded cushions for you to use at the firepits. Such a peaceful and relaxing location. There is a very good choice for breakfast and the service from the staff is great. We reluctantly had to pack our bags and head for home. Michelle and all of the staff deserve credit for the way in which they make you feel so welcome and help you to relax and enjoy your stay. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

This is a hotel that we simply return to again and again, it truly never disappoints. The staff are first class, and cannot do enough for you. I really have to give a big shout out for the utterly delicious food, the chefs creativity and devotion to their craft is of the highest level. This hotel is a gem, yes it takes a wee bit of effort to get there, but the rewards are worth it, this is a MUST VISIT!

Wonderful experience from start to finish. Fantastic room with excellent Loch view. Massive comfy bed and huge bathroom with shower and roll-top bath. Savoury Platter and G&Ts on arrival were outstanding. Dinner gave us another brilliant experience due to the friendliness of the staff and the quality food from the à la Carte menu (Pig Cheeks, Roast Lamb, Wild Venison) Ended the evening with a few drams in the cosy lounge bar. Lovely view and quality food continued at breakfast. Highly recommend for that special occasion and ask for the Fyne Loch view room

We had a wonderful stay at Taychreggan. From the moment we arrived with a lovely warm welcome from Michelle, we guessed that our stay was going to be great and we weren’t disappointed. Our loch view room was perfect with a large en-suite. We loved the fluffy dressing gowns and the home made shortbread. The food was excellent and all the staff, including Rebecca and Michael in the dining room were outstanding. We had a lovely chat with the lady behind the bar about different gins and whisky and really enjoyed sampling some new ones which we had never tried before. The berry cocktail highly recommended too. Lovely too to be able to enjoy our drinks seated on the barrels in the garden too, enjoying the beautiful view. The weather was perfect and a beautiful sunset left us wanting to return soon. Thank you Michelle and all your staff.

We spent three nights here and it didn’t disappoint from the point of view of being a relaxing break and being a very dog-friendly space; our three loved it. There’s an unfortunate and at times noticeable lack of staff but the folks that are there do really well. The two regular breakfast ladies are really lovely and the two bar staff are great too. We had rooms Fyne and Tromlee and both were very spacious, very comfortable and well appointed; both also had lovely loch views and were clean and looked after by the domestic staff. Really no complaints with the accommodations at all. The one thing that lets the whole package down sadly, is the food. Both the Supper menu and the A la Carte menu were both very tired and limited and certainly don’t reflect ‘The Foodie’s Haven’ as has been described in other places, nor the prices they are charging. Although none of us are veggie, we all remarked that there is an extremely limited choice for anyone who is. We had hoped that by the third night there was some variation in the choices available, as by then we’d truly exhausted the quite limited menus. Of the options that were available, we all felt that the prices being charged were very far in excess of the quality and choice served and this was across the whole menu’. The pricing infrastructure of both the food and the drink certainly does not encourage our return. “What a shame“ as otherwise it could be a real wee gem. “

Visited this hotel on a short break with my wife over the weekend and what a find it was. The location is stunning on the banks of Loch Awe. The hotel itself is amazing and everyone is so friendly, very warm and welcoming. We dined in the restaurant on both nights and what a joy, hats off to the chef, should be an AA 3 star. Breakfast was great and really sets you up for the day. One the few hotels I’ve visited where I could not find a fault. Excellent

Fantastic hotel in exceptional location on the shores of Loch Awe. The level of service is outstanding, from management, to restaurant, to bar to room staff. This is an "old" hotel that has however been maintained meticulously and is decorated with taste, aesthetics and in harmony with the stunning natural environment. Spotlessly clean, excellent food and well-stocked bar with some exceptional whiskies. To top it off the manager who is clearly on top of it, arranged for us to each have well appointed rooms at the same price as the single room we had originally reserved by mistake. This is the kind of intelligent and authentic service that has become a rarity, with the result that I highly recommend this lovely hotel, have told many of my friends and colleagues to go, and will be returning at the first opportunity.

THE best dog friendly hotel we have ever stayed at. This place is our new "special place" Can't wait to get back! There's just something about it. If you want total peace and quiet this is the place to go. Excellent food and the staff were all so friendly and helpful. Our dog was treated like a VIP. Lovely touch was a basket full of tennis balls, doggy towels and doggy biscuits at the door! Room was very comfy with a beautiful view of the Loch. Lovely home made shortbread in the room. Lots of comfy lounges to relax in. Another lovely touch was fire pits being burned at barrel seating at the side of the loch for star gazing. Just blissful. 3 star hotel.....5 star service....in every way!
