Found it hard to find accommodation in Harris. Few hotels and this was all we could get. Staff were lovely but hotel was very tired and needed a lot of money thrown at it. We were in a room on top floor. If you have any mobility problems be sure to check you re in a lower floor as stairs are plenty and very steep. Dinner was fine. Pub grub really. Nice breakfast. It was very busy but there wasn’t much competition. Let’s say I was glad we were only doing one night. So we’re my knees!!!!
Stayed one night whilst on a tour of Lewis/Harris. The hotel is rather old worldly and this reflects in the décor and layout. The interior is very old-fashioned (beyond nostalgic) and the stairways to the higher rooms are difficult to navigate with any sizeable luggage. Our room would welcome a refresh. Whilst sizeable, it felt a little neglected especially the bathroom with an out dated shower and black mould around the bath. The hotel's gem is its restaurant and dining room. Evening dinner food was well presented, reasonable priced and the puddings were very good indeed. It was a similar story for breakfast which was done very and served with real politeness. We have little interaction with the staff but where we did they were friendly and welcoming. This could be a really nice hotel with some internal investment and refresh though I imaging the impact of Covid 19 will have hit establishments like this hard when it comes to revenue…
Stayed here for one night and couldn’t fault it. Good location, plenty parking spaces and the staff were all very friendly. We had dinner which was really nice and breakfast was equally as good. Would recommend.
The Harris Hotel offers an old-fashioned hotel stay in a good way. Our room was comfortable, and the service was friendly and helpful. Evening meals were excellent with a good selection of local produce, especially seafood.
We stayed for 2 nights during our Hebridean Tour. Our room (Room 2) was beautiful. Staff were so attentive and the restaurant dinner and breakfast food and service impeccable So handy for both the ferry to Skye and for touring the island
