If you are looking for top quality accommodation , superlative service and wonderful breakfasts , you will not find a better B and B! And the views from the house are spectacular. I don’t often give a review but I cannot let our stay go by without thanking our hosts Dave snd Jane , for making our stay on Harris so relaxing and enjoyable The bedroom was very large and the bed was extremely comfortable . The guest lounge was a huge bonus and we were made to feel we could use it at any time Jane and Dave had obviously gone to great lengths to make our stay so special , and the number of extra touches which makes all the difference put them in a class of their own Oh, and the tot of whiskey in our room each evening went down a treat!

We had a wonderful stay Ceol na Mara in July when we visited the Outer Hebrides. Dave and Jane were both incredibly helpful from the time of booking by sending useful restaurant recommendations and information about Harris, and were available throughout our stay to answer any queries we had and suggest walks and things to see and do. Perfect hosts! Our room was lovely and cozy and the guest house felt like a home away from home. There were some lovely touches, such as the daily complementary whisky, the 'essentials' station with chocolate bars and the well-stocked upstairs bar. The views from the guest house were also incredible! The breakfast was fantastic with an excellent selection of options (I just wish we had been hungry enough to sample them all!) and the meat platter we had one evening was lovely. I cannot recommend Ceol na Mara enough and would definitely stay again if we are lucky enough to return to the beautiful Isle of Harris!

Excellent, first class, The host and hostess were charming. Upon arrival we were ordered a cup of tea, with biscuits, when we were given all the must see areas, Restaurant are few and far between, We were offered a fish platter,….Perfect .. They offered a choice of wine and beers at very reasonable prices ……we can’t speak any more highly of this charming guest house. It’s a must if staying in the area. Plenty of safe guest parking.

We stayed at Ceol na Mara for a few nights in August - our first holiday on Harris. From the moment we arrived when Dave came out to welcome us to the moment we left with Dave helping me load cases into the car, it was well nigh the perfect guest house experience. Completely faultless from start to finish. Dave and Jane are great ambassadors for the island, lots of local info, restaurant booking, really attentive hosts without once being intrusive. As well as the spotlessly clean and comfortable room, massive bed, superb breakfast with really wide choice of local and genuinely homemade food, all perfectly presented and cooked, all the facilities you could need, some additional touches stood out: phone charging plugs and cables, mini bar and two lounges, the complementary whisky, every type of tea and coffee, chocolate bars and sweets to keep us going (not that we needed the calories tbh!), accommodating our early start one morning by starting breakfast early, I could go on. And don’t forget the views. They really are amazing from all sides of the house. All in all the perfect place from which to explore the island. Dave & Jane - thanks so much for having us.

From initial booking enquiry, through to excellent pre-arrival services including booking restaurants and taxis for us, to top class accommodation and delicious cooking, Dave and Jane are the full package - hosts par excellence. We loved all of the little extra touches e.g. 2 residents lounges, honesty bar and the complimentary daily supply of whisky. Dave and Jane were also highly responsive to a couple of requests which we made during our stay. We stayed here for 4 nights and were sorry to leave. Sure we will return and will certainly recommend to others. If there was an award for the Outer Hebrides Top B&B, I think Ceol na Mara would be a runaway winner!
