Our meal today was exceptional in every way. The quality of the food and service exceeded our expectations completely. Having dined at restaurants around the world and uk this was definitely up there with the best. Our waiter Callum was a real pleasure and made us feel relaxed and was particularly attentive to my dietary restrictions. We really enjoyed our meals and if you enjoy fine dining at its best we would highly recommend you put this on your itinerary when visiting Skye. Thank you to Chef for adapting my meals so well it was really appreciated and for Callum making today really memorable. Best wishes to you all. Julie and Simon
We visited the restaurant many years ago and vowed to come back and stay this time. It was the most expensive night of our trip by some distance and so expectations were high. Unfortunately it didn’t get off to the best of starts as we found our receptionist to be on the cold side. The receptionist was pouring drinks for other guests it turns out, though we thought mistakenly they were for us, and so it was then all very awkward. We were in room 4 just off reception and the room itself is beautiful and very well appointed. There was a single set of toiletries and one serving of fresh coffee in the room. We asked for more, having used it all getting ready for dinner, and we’re made to feel like we were imposing. As others have said at the prices being charged we would not expect this to have been an issue. On returning from dinner we asked if there was any decaffeinated coffee in the room. The receptionist was not sure and rather than offer it had to be asked if he could provide some (which he duly did). Overall we enjoyed our stay but were left feeling the welcome could and should have been much warmer.…
Excellent in every respect We came with some anxiety as we had only recently gathered they had lost their head chef and Michelin star. Our concerns were totally unjustified. This place is really very good indeed in terms of both the restaurant and the accommodation. ACCOMMODATION - Rooms and public areas are comfortable and spacious. - Bathrooms are large, stylish and very well appointed - Decoration and furnishings throughout are discreet, elegant and fine quality - Rooms and all areas are spotlessly clean RESTAURANT - Interesting, adventurous menu with most ingredients locally sourced - Some unusual dishes, but a choice of options designed to cater for most tastes - Well explained flexibility within the course options, again allowing for differing tastes and appetites - Comprehensive wine list covering most budgets - Every dish was just so clever - in concept, balance, preparation and presentation - Service was faultless - Friendly without informality, knowledgeable and informative - 3 rosettes richly deserved, possibly should be 4 and surely knocking on the door of a star CONCLUSION Both the restaurant and the accommodation are pricey, but this is absolutely justified by the quality on offer in every respect. Very highly recommended. …
Nice accomodation next to the restaurant with ample off road parking. Well fitted room, nice shower and bed. At the price one would expect this to be up there with the best so no real complaints. However we were in room 1 which I noticed had had complaints back in February regarding a screaming cold water tap when you used it in the bathroom. Would appear in 3 months they still have not been able to fix it, just annoying. Also spare toilet roll just stood on the floor by the toilet? We wouldn’t even do that at home. When you pay this much it’s the little things you expect to be perfect.
Stayed for one night on a car tour of the NC500 with Skye added in. Superb room and service, food and wine of the highest order. The build-your-own tasting menu format is inventive and works better that just getting what the chef thinks you should have. Overall, by Scottish standards it's a tad expensive but by the standards it delivers to it's more than acceptable, especially as a mid-holiday treat
An unparalleled experience. First Class… from a traveler who has been to most five star properties around the world. Chef Table experience that was simply sumptuous. from the 1st course and wine pairing to the soufflé. The knowledgeable Sommelier rivaled the unparalleled Pastry Chef.
We had an excellent two-night stay, and were extremely well looked after by all the staff. The food in the restaurant is exceptional, and their catering for my wife's tree nut allergy was very reassuring. The sommelier chose interesting wines to pair with our dishes, for which she provided very informative explanations. The maitre d', and our waiters, also were incredibly pleasant and friendly, making the experience a real pleasure. The bedroom, overall, was lovely. Very well furnished and equipped, with an incredible view towards the sea. The receptionist was lovely, very chatty and helpful, making us feel very welcome. Only one issue should be noted by management, which is the incredibly loud and annoying noise when turning on the cold water tap in Room #1. We were surprised that an establishment of this calibre would not address such an issue straight away on it becoming apparent.…
Hoe do I start, other than fantastic in every way. The food is perfect and knowledgeably designed menue. Service is extremely professional and the sommelier gives experienced advice. The premises are ready quaint and somewhat isolated. If you like mcdonalds and their prices, forget it This is a top quality venue Thank you Callum and staff
Our second visit in three years. First Class. I’m not sure of the other reviews re lack of atmosphere ? Goodness me we still have covid restrictions. Friendly staff, nothing too much, kind and courteous. Evening meal, tasty and enjoyable. Waitress Iona was helpful, relaxed and lovely. Would really recommend coming here. We had long day from London and the reception and meal was well worth the trip.
Delicious food (my husband, who is much more of a foodie than I am, declared it was Michelin star-level), great wine list and wonderful service. It isn't cheap, but you absolutely get what you pay for - so if you want a special meal out, book a table (if you can - they're pretty busy!)
