Stayed here as part of party of 25 touring the Hebrides. Due to timings of ferry from Ullapool we did not arrive in hotel till 20.45 hrs. While this was only 15 minutes late the Manager of hotel made our TM made it plain he was not happy with our lateness. Given the weather you can experience during the crossing this must be a regular occurrence and was the same with another group who arrived there 2 days later. Dinner service was very efficient on all 3 days we were there, helped by the fact the meals were pre-booked. Breakfast service on our first day was good however it was a different matter when the 2nd group of 40+ arrived. It was chaotic, no Manager and the staff were left with insufficient ingredients to complete the pre ordered choices. Jessica O’ Loughlin was really helpful trying to deal with the issues but in the end, after waiting an hour for even toast, many of our group left the table without food to meet our coach departure time. The next morning we were asked to stagger our timings with the other group and arrived an hour apart. Service was superb and everyone was very happy. I’m sure the hotel had some teething problems with staffing levels and that subsequent tours will be encouraged to give the staff time to give them the service levels we received on our last day.…
Excellent hotel. Food good. Cleanliness good. Covid safety good. Didn’t get a 5 as room view was of the service yard ( hotel was empty!) parking good. Access to tow n a short walk. Ideal position to visit North/South of island. Due to Covid our 4 day stay did not include access to our room, so obviously none of the usual stuff actioned
We went to this hotel on the 21st Feb for my mother 88 birthday . They where excellent and Rebecca who was our host was great nothing to much for her .very pleasant and polite and funny . The food was great and they did not rush us at all even the chef had written a happy birthday on my mothers pudding plate nice touch . Would recommend this hotel to every one it's great .
In Stornoway on business...the room was very spacious and had everything you would need in a hotel room. The only criticism I would have was that there were no power sockets next to the bed. This meant I couldn't so conveniently have my mobile phone next to the bed to act as an alarm clock and also recharge it overnight. Breakfast was included in the room rate and this was excellent. The hotel is a 10-15 minute walk from the town centre.
we stayed here prior to Christmas and we had planned to be there with our dog. Our plans changed and our dog ended up staying with out daughter round the corner, however the staff who were lighthearted, friendly and charming still made some sausages for the dog at breakfast! The hotel itself is spacious both in public areas and bedrooms. A little dated in areas such as the bathroom, however that can be entirely forgiven as the feeling of welcome and warmth that envelopes you from the moment you walk towards reception entirely makes up for this. We will DEFINITELY return and this time the dog will stay too!!
