Dropped in on a Monday night mainly because other restaurants were either closed or fully booked. Very glad we did though. Excellent service, extensive drinks menu and clearly marked GF items on food and drink menu. Was about to order a burger but asked if they did a GF batter which they did and so had a lovely fish and chips. Staff very knowledgeable about dietary requirements and so finished with a lovely baked cheesecake as pictured. Forgot to take photo of the main but very good portion indeed. 2 drinks and mains, shared dessert for £40.
Stuck for somewhere to eat on a rainy day in Stornoway and came across The Crown Inn. Lovely food, excellent view of the harbour and great service. A but of a hidden gem - will be back on our next trip. Thank you
Having eaten here during our visit last year, we returned - twice - this year and both times were really pleased with the food. There's a decent amount of options, including for vegetarians, and although on the first visit the two veggie burgers weren't available they did have another (homemade) alternative which was very tasty. Portion sizes are generous, and be warned that if you're having the Pizza they are absolutely huge! Neither of us could finish ours, which was in no way a reflection of the quality. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and it was easy to book a table, which we were glad we'd done as it was busy both days. They also still have Track & Trace as well as a one way system, and mask use enforced inside. Really nice food, large portions, good value for money, and a nice view out on to the harbour. We would recommend.…
This was our base for 4 nights in Lewis and it proved more than up to the task. Reception were friendly and the room was acceptably clean if a little smaller than ideal. One challenge was the lack of onsite parking which meant we had to move our bags from a carpark some distance away. The TV in the room had poor reception meaning that there was limited choice of channels and the covid restrictions meant there was no apparent refresh of refreshments to cater for those stating for 4 nights. Breakfast was a mixed affair with a good selection and large portions, but on one morning in particular it was badly overcooked despite there being very few people to cater for.
We went at lunch time on a week day, despite being busy we were offered a table in the residents lounge which we happily took. Had a lovely meal and we were made very welcome as was our dog. The staff were incredibly friendly food was great very happy to recommend to anyone.
