Four of us (two couples) travelling together. We spent a very comfotable couple of nights at Doune Braes. Comortable beds. Very quiet location. Clean. Good food. What more do you want? And the owner was very helpful, even asking the cook to make a cake at very short notice for my husband's birthday! Everything fine. We stayed in the annexe which was easier for dealing with our little dog. Staff wearing masks indoors. Everything fine.

We stopped for a late lunch, which was, at best, uninspiring. We did not see any staff wearing face coverings, in spite of current regulations, which caused some anxiety about other Covid measures. Please, at least put that in place.

Apart from friendly staff there is nothing positive about this hotel: grim exterior, porch full of half dead plants, dark corridors, room over looking service area, bathroom light broken, radiator dirty, bed creaky, cheap worn sheets & bedding, mismatch worn furniture. And expensive.

Great location on the spectacular west coast of Lewis. We used it overnight on a cycling trip. Nice big shed for getting the bikes away overnight. Decent place, quite big and old and I can see it would cost a fortune to fully modernise. Decor is good overall, plenty of space in the lounge/bar etc. Enjoyed dinner and the breakfast was very good. Some staff were attentive but lack of covid awareness in general.

We liked it's décor from yesteryear and its charm. The service was very welcoming, quick and friendly and the restaurant food was much better than expected. The rooms are quiet and we had a relaxing stay.
