A warm welcome in the heart of real Highland wilderness. Kylesku is a delightfully peaceful village on the shores of two large sea-lochs, Loch Glendhu & Loch Glencoul. Set in the heart of real Highland wilderness, it makes a perfect base for exploring Sutherland and North West Scotland. The Kylesku Hotel itself is an old coaching inn dating from 1680, and is situated by the former ferry slipway on the shores of the loch. The hotel, bar and restaurant are open to residents & non-residents alike. It is an independently run small hotel with current owners Tanja Lister & Sonia Virechauveix eager to provide a warm welcome. The views from the hotel overlooking the loch and the local mountains are awesome with the bar, restaurant & lounge providing a perfect vantage point for overseeing the local wildlife - an abundance of seals, red deer and birds, or even our more elusive neighbour, the local otter. We are passionate about food, and with local fishing boats landing daily in Kylesku, seafood is a speciality. Fresh langoustines, lobsters, spineys, crabs, mussels and haddock are available, alongside quality meat & game. We also offer a choice of vegetarian options, all of which can be washed down with wide selection of wines, beers & malt whiskies. We are proud to be included in the 2012 Michelin Guide to Eating in Pubs. Our aim is simple: to tempt you with the freshest, local, quality food, in welcoming, friendly and comfortable surroundings. We hope our wealth of local knowledge will help you to get the most out of your stay here. There is something for everyone, be it walking, climbing, fishing, wildlife watching or simply combing the many deserted white sandy beaches of the North West Coast. We are happy to help you to plan your itineraries whether by car, on foot or pedal power. Our hotel is also featured in the 2012 Good Hotel Guide and in Claire MacDonald’s famous recipe book Scottish Highland Hospitality, where she states that “Kylesku Hotel combines everything I consider to be essential for a visitor to the Highlands - comfort, really good food in an old hotel with all the present-day amenities, and truly spectacular scenery wherever you look.”

Dear Food_Blogger5, Thank you for taking the time to write your review. I am delighted you enjoyed your time with us. We aim to offer the best of what our area has to offer. This means a small army of suppliers who work by themselves in challenging conditions. We know them personally and we know their connection with their environment is one of great care, consideration and responsibility. This has a price tag attached to it, but we know our produce is excellent. In terms of service, we have a team who loves being here and who are just as passionate as Tanja & I are. It shows, and they will share with you a "slice of Kylesku life". Come back soon for more! Kind regards Sonia Owner Director Kylesku Hotel

Memorable place to relax and enjoy the stunning views across the Loch - coffee was excellent too. Very friendly and efficient service - shame we had to move on and missed out on trying the menu but we needed to reach the beach at Sandwood Bay

We have had several visits to this delightful remote getaway from it all hideaway. With plenty of home comforts the rooms are always immaculate in presentation and cleanliness. Even though dogs are welcome the standard of cleanliness and presentation is second to none. The

We only called into this hotel for a drink but on looking at the menu decided to stay for dinner. We were really glad we did. The staff were most helpful and friendly and explained what some items were, i.e. Spineys. We shared a portion of the aforesaid spineys and they were

Dear Beryl S Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. Its great to read that you had such an amazing time dining. Being able to introduce our guests to a new dish or experience is something we love to do. Especially when the dish is caught in the Loch outside the hotel. I look forward to welcoming you again. would you provide vegan food if we request prior our stay?
Hi there, We already have a few vegan options on the menu, however if you were to stay for longer than a couple of nights you may exhaust the list! In this case we would be able to liaise with the kitchen to provide food that suits your dietary requirements. As suggested, if you gave us a call we would be able to give some more information. Thanks for your query, we hope to welcome you to Kylesku soon.

it says the hotel is pet friendly. where are pets allowed?. I have a very quiet shih tzu (hypoallergenic).
Hi LewisMo81, Dogs are welcomed throughout all areas of the hotel. To stay there is a charge of £10 per dog, per night. There is no specific area where you would need to sit in the restaurant. Where we seat people depends on a variety of factors, but if it was a larger dog (not in your case!) we would suggest tables with more space around them so everyone is comfortable. Thanks El Johnstone

Where is the ease of access for the disabled ?
We have a disable access room in Wilie's Hoose and there is a ramp to the hotel entrance accessible. In the main hotel, part of the lounge is accessible as well as most of the dinning area. However, the toilets are not accessible in the restaurant.
