We stayed in the “Hedgehog “ lodge for 4 nights with our 2 small dogs ( 19-23 sept 2021) our 2nd time here, previously stayed in “hare” lodge . Everything was lovely and we enjoyed a relaxing break, and looking forward to visiting again. Just a couple of points for owners to possibly consider ; 1. A front & back door restraint to ensure they don’t bang shut when windy ( dogs got fright of their lives, not to mention me too) 2. A small table to pop drinks snacks upon within the lodge 3. A small table or free standing lamp in the sitting area ( under lights beneath kitchen units nice touch but quite subdued lighting for us oldies) 4. The knives were particularly blunt ( I enjoy cooking at the lodge, so proved problematic) also the lack of cheese grater was an issue ( grating cheese, garlic / ginger ) 5. Upon checking out I stripped the bed as requested , unfortunately I found stains on the duvet & on mattress protector, I appreciate this can be difficult to manage when using white linen but stain free linen and towels should be a must .…
From arrival to departure the experience of staying in Balmeadowside Farmhouse was exeptional. The property was clean and comfortably furnished with all homely touches to make our stay that more special. Well stocked kitchen area with plenty of pots and pans etc and with a big range cooker. A separate games room with a pool table and access to the hot tub area was well used by all. Not only was the farmhouse lovely but the location gave beautiful views across the valley to enjoy when having an outdoor breakfast/dinner. This base was also great for getting out and about exploring the area - St Andrews and Edinburgh to name a couple are very easy to get to. Will definitely check out the other Solid Luxury accommodation if planning a trip to Scotland again.
We stayed at Rowan Tree Cottage for 6 nights and could easily have stayed longer! The spacious, comfortable cottage has everything you need. The views were simply stunning, nothing better than sitting on the decking or in the hot tub with a cold glass of wine! Great woodland walks for the dog and we loved the animals being so close - the llamas, deer and the baby goats were especially cute! Only 5 mins to Cupar, 15 to Dundee and 20 to St Andrews so very central for exploring. Some recommendations - Shenai Indian Restaurant in Cupar, Balgove Larder in St Andrews, strawberry picking at Cairnie Fruit Farm and Cluny Activities for Segways/Golf Driving Range. This was our second visit to Balmeadowside and certainly won’t be our last!
Just back from another stay at Balmeadowside, this time at Hare Cottage and the accommodation was excellent. I go myself with my dog and I have to say my dog loves it just as much as me, with all the different walks you can take around the site, such a relaxing break. It’s also a great base to visit the surrounding areas, just a short drive to Cupar or St Andrews. I would highly recommend Balmedowside and I look forward to returning
