We have just had the most perfect stay at Troustrie House, everything about it was absolutely wonderful, the house itself, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, the hostess Lesley was so kind, attentive and helpful, the views and setting are so peaceful and tranquil. Although we were only there for one night, we feel rested and relaxed. Lovely ‘afternoon tea’ when we arrived and the breakfast choices were all delicious. Would highly recommend.
We have just returned from a couple of nights staying here. What a treat! We explored the area on bikes, which I’d recommend. There are plenty of guide books in the house and Lesley offers recommendations about the area. The beautifully appointed home as everything you could need for a luxurious break away. The breakfasts were FABULOUS. We tried everything! 5 stars. We hope to go back.
My husband and I ended up at Troustrie House by chance, thanks to a double-booking for a room at a different place close by!!! And we loved it. The house is in a beautiful setting with excellent views. The room itself had great views and very well presented - clean, fresh and a delight! The breakfast was superb! The hostess, Lesley, is brilliant! Definitely one to return to....I highly recommend a stay at this treasure in Fife!
Our third visit says it all. Just a perfect place to stay. Very comfortable and Lesley looks after you so well. The most delicious breakfasts. The new addition of the Butlers Pantry was great although there are so many places to eat nearby.
Every single detail of our stay at Troustrie was perfect and we can't recommend it highly enough. Arriving at this beautifully-furnished, period house, set deep in the countryside, yet within easy reach of the East Neuk coastal harbour towns, we saw hares, deer and rabbits, as well as all kinds of birds, before being warmly, but unobtrusively welcomed by Leslie, whose helpfulness throughout went well beyond expectation. Our room, with its distant views of the sea and isle of May, as well as surrounding countryside, was spotless, and the four poster bed extremely comfortable. We appreciated the Fair Trade tea, coffee and biscuits on the hospitality tray, as well as the thoughtful range of toiletries in the spacious bathroom. The range of delicious homecooked food available for breakfast was exceptional and we would highly recommend the optional extra of the afternoon tea, which was quite simply scrumptious! Troustrie is a very special place and Leslie is a very special host. Five stars don't seem enough!…
