Clean, professional, & excellent area for entertainment & food! Rooms are roomy, & overall stay was superb. Front desk made our welcome the best ever. Great eye contact, helpful with places to go, & even offered to search Google for my dad who's 80 years old. Will stay again, & look forward to next year's family vacation at this fine establishment.
I'm an owner of Hiltons Grand Vacations Club & every time I stay at one of their resort clubs it is never a disappointment. This hotel was absolutely a pleasure to stay at for our 7 day stay. Its located right in the center of Myrtle beach so tons of things were walking distance or a very very short car ride to places. Our 2 bedroom plus suite was absolutely spacious & had everything you needed & had 2 separate balconies that gave a beautiful view of the beach day or night. The only thing disappointing was the hotel can use a bit of an update as things are a bit outdated as far as carpets, blinds, doors, & elevators. The only thing that would have made it a perfect stay was they could have cleaned a little better as there were rust spots on doors & dirt & grime in the shower & water stains. Bed was absolutely the best I've ever slept in & had amazing sleep daily. I highly highly recommend…
We stayed in a 2bdrm 2ba ocean view suite, it was an excellent room with an exceptional view. The staff at Anderson was extremely courteous and friendly. I have never stayed at a hotel where the staff is attentive to your satisfaction. The only recommendation I have is to have the side doors and pool area only accessible with key-card.
I have to agree that the oceanfront room view was incredible. The hotel itself seemed like it was in a decent part of town but after staying there a while some things made themselves apparent that made me decide not to come back. First off, the parking situation is terrible. I don’t mind a walk to get to the car but parking isn’t even on the premises. It’s two blocks west of the hotel, which is one block shy of a skeevy stretch of US 17. My wife went to get coffee at the Starbucks about three blocks away and was accosted by every creep within that span. The hotel itself is fine and yes I will also agree with the dated decor. They don’t have any baggage carts you can use yourself, you have to wait on one of a couple of bell hops to bring your stuff up with you. I don’t need an escort in the hotel (outside is a different story), I need a way to get my bags up to the room, with minimal waiting. You can have one of the handful of staff valet park your car but that’s $20 a day. In hindsight had I known we were staying amongst so many local creeps and transient deviants on their vacation, I would have used that. No smoking in the rooms or balconies unless apparently, it’s weed. I don’t even have a cigar in my house or car but I would have liked to had a cigar and a drink on the balcony but that was against hotel policy. Evidently, if you wanna toke up like Cheech and Chong nothing said, because it happened often. Unlike some reviews here that didn’t have a clean room at check in, ours was at least clean upon our arrival. The hotel cleaning service is stated to occur every third day of your stay but that didn’t happen and with a large family, we did their jobs for them and as far as I’m concerned, should have had a little knocked of the bill. Speaking of bill, I guess the receipt you get when you book is all you get. I asked about a receipt being emailed to me and was told I’d get one, two weeks later I’ve never received it. The front desk was anything but helpful or welcoming. I’m not there to make lifelong friends or conversation but Jesus! It’s the hospitality industry, fake it! I felt bad for putting them out and checking in. I got the misfortune of dealing with the same cold fish with each interaction. The others “appeared” to be busy to avoid any interaction, no eye contact from any of the them. But to be fair, I did receive an impersonal text, inquiring about my stay. I think I was able to use the shower coming from the beach once. While cleaning in your room might not occur even every third day, they do allow some underworked, teenager or twenty something to hose down the shower area often and for inordinate amounts of time. It’s a shower to wash sand of from the beach! It’s gonna get a bit sandy! Get outta the way and let guests use it. I’m sure they had a lot of sand to vacuum up in the room after we left, assuming they did in fact clean it.…
This was our first time to stay in the Anderson Ocean Resort. The room was a perfect space and had a beautiful view. On the days we didn't make it down to the beach, we still felt that we got to enjoy the beach. The building is very well built and we never heard neighbors above us or out on our balcony, even though we were there for one of the busiest weeks all year. Having teenagers, it was nice to have the added bonus of the putt-putt across the street and the Grand Prix usage. 2 tips: 1)Do not plan to go on Memorial Day weekend. The streets all around are blocked off and can literally take an hour to drive a mile. This is due to it being biker week. We had no idea until a couple of days before our arrival. 2) Don't plan on parking in the breezeway of the building when loading/unloading. It is tiny and filled up most of the time. You just plan to pull up and have the rest of your party meet you at the vehicle with everything to load up.…
My mother, sister and I traveled to Myrtle Beach. I always want to stay at the Anderson because of their excellent personnel. The staff is always kind and so professional. Upon checking in we went to our room. I will note the furniture was worn and outdated. The sofa had large tears in it. The cushions were very worn. My elderly mother was very uncomfortable. We proceeded to Guest Services and spoke to the manager. He was very kind and understanding. He moved us to another room, the same category, but this one had better furniture. I have always enjoyed staying at the Anderson. One bad room does not ruin a vacation. The manager corrected the problem immediately and efficiently. The Spa at the resort is extraordinary. All employees are so nice. I look forward to my spa day each time we visit Myrtle Beach. Lenora is the best. The hot stone massage is so relaxing and worth every dollar. The Spa is beyond excellent. If you need a day of relaxation and spa treatments, book yourself a "ME" Day at the Anderson Ocean Club and Spa. You will not be disappointed. Love the Anderson and the Spa.…
Came across the Anderson Ocean Club by shear chance. The lobby and the building itself is very impressive. Everything was in excellent condition. The staff at check-in were very efficient. Our 1BR unit, #1001, was in good condition and the balcony was small but very private. You did not look onto other balconies. The kitchen had everything you needed. There were 2 large 65" TV's. The bathroom towels almost seemed like they were brand new. We had ocean view vs. ocean front which I prefer as your balcony is over the pools when you are ocean front. That location is very noisy with all the kids screaming in the pools. It's a terrific beach and the water was very clear with no seaweed.
I was disappointed with my recent stay at the Anderson Ocean Club. The staff was friendly and helpful. We did a couples massage at the spa and it was wonderful. We stayed in a studio room. It was my husband and myself. There was a small full kitchen with oven, full refrigerator and small dishwasher. The room had not been updated and had ceramic tile and carpeting. (I was told they will be updated next year.) I understand carpeting would be hard to keep clean with sand and the beach. I requested the carpeting to be vacuumed and they did the best they could. I kept shoes on the entire stay. My biggest complaint was the room always felt damp. After arriving home I unpacked my clothes. The items I had hanging up in the closet were DAMP! I did mentioned the dampness to the front desk at check out and she was not concerned about it. The parking garage is over a block away. Memorial Weekend is bike week (motorcycles everywhere) and we couldn't drive into the building to check in. They have the road blocked off for some traffic and emergency services. Let me rephrase that, you could drive into the building but if you got caught in the traffic it would take you an hour to get out of it. We lugged our luggage down the block from the garage.…
It was my 5th stay in Anderson Ocean Club as a member of Hilton Grand Vacation Club. Overall service level was deteriorated a bit and room amenities were reduced to so-so quality. Pillows were not very comfortable. Kitchen supplies were bare minimum, but provided when requested for more.
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! Let me start with saying I don't give reviews often but...If I could leave a 1 star I would. We book our reservations in January and was told it was a 3 bdrm penthouse. I decided to call 2 weeks to arrival only to be told that I would be given a 3 bdrm oceanfront (penthouse wasn't available). We arrived at 2pm and was told they would call us when our room was ready. No call...arrive back at the hotel at 4:15pm and was given room key to 6 floor. We get in the room and and it's a 1 bdrm NOT a 3 bdrm. The sofa had bodily fluid stains all over it...we waited another hour only to be told that our room is no longer on a top floor. Unacceptable we were assured that they would be able to move our room on Sunday. You might be asking WHY is it so impo6to have higher floors? Because there were a ton of drunk people roaming my floor looking for a bathroom. In the interim I'm in a room with a shower that doesn't work, 2 other showers with low water pressure, cold water and slow drain. The rooms are dated, housekeeping is non existent - we had 2 broken irons and took over an hour to get an iron. Not sure why it took so long when the housekeeping staff was congregating in the hall chit chatting. The Proverbial straw that broke camel's back...is when I called on Sunday regarding the room changed only to be told by Robert Fugua (front office mgr) that they have no room. WTF...so I was blatantly lied to about a fictitious room being available. We were given the standard "I'm sorry routine and it was clear that he could care less. To spend $2000 for a weekend with this horrific experience is ridiculous. Never ever coming back here...i might not be able to get reasonable restitution but at least I can prevent someone from wasting their hard earned money on this place. DON'T waste your money or time. THERE ARE MUCH NICER and newer options available for 1/2 the price.…
