Absolutely terrible. So many things wrong with this condo. Dirty, extremely worn out, no dryer handle, dents all over refrigerator, showers take forever to drain. No housekeeping at all. You cannot sweep your floors. Several missing light bulbs, and the couch’s and chairs were very worn. Way to expensive for what you get. The website looks so nice. We were very disappointed. This was our seventh trip to Myrtle and never have stayed where it was so bad.
One of the best resorts in myrtle Beach always clean and feels just like home I will always stay there staff is great and they have everything you need again one of the best and I have stayed at a lot of great resorts in myrtle Beach Ocean one is top 5
We have stayed many times at Ocean’s One over the past 20 years. Prior to this stay the last was Oct 2019. It was always a lovely, well decorated, clean facility. Nothing could be further from the truth now. This is a thorough review to help you avoid major disappointment. I did contact the GM who moved us on day 2 and gave a 1 night credit. I offered for him to come and see how bad the room is so he would know the extent of the cleaning and maintenance issues. He declined the offer. Service • We were driving from Canada and called at 12:30pm as we were arriving early and wondered if our room would be ready. The answer was a flat no without even asking our name to see if our unit was even occupied the evening before. • When I went to ask about cutlery for our initial room, the employee stated “you’ll have to call the GM. I don’t have any money to purchase anything for you”. I found out later from the GM in fact there is an inventory of these items on hand. • No towel service for the pool area any longer. Guests must use their shower towels from the unit and wash them themselves if they require more. • Supplies like toilet paper, soaps, dishwasher tabs and garbage bags are not replenished during your stay. You must go to where you check in and stand in line like an inmate, request additional supplies. They ask your room, mark it down and often give you a dirty look like you’re stealing this stuff. Unbelievable. • Apparently the first Monday of the month the building access code gets changed, but nobody lets you know this in advance. They change the code and suddenly you can’t access the building. When I did get in and I called the office the guy said “ya I’m calling everyone now to let them know the new code. You’re on floor 19, I haven’t got there yet.” Why the hell wouldn’t you call everyone in advance and let them know what the new code will be and when?? Unit • Our first 3 bed unit had drywall patches in many places with no paint, the carpet was filthy and frayed, the floors were filthy, black mold around the air vents in the master and bath, there was what appeared to be a large mouse hole chewed in the baseboard of the kitchen cupboard, the upholstery was worn and ripped and stained. We had 6 adults staying and there were 2 forks, 1 knife 5 plates, no baking sheet • The second unit at first glance was better. It had utensils and no unpainted drywall patches. It also however had: o Filthy floors o Worn upholstery o Oven knob with temperature numbers worn so no idea what temperature oven was set to and only 2 burners worked o Cupboards were so dirty that your fingers stick to the knobs o Master vanity cupboard door crumbling along the outer edge, whirlpool tub does not work, retractable close line stuck and won’t extend o Toilet seat stained yellow o No dish detergent provided o Dirty coffee pot o 2 hangers in 3 closets except for plastic ones from clothes previous guests had left o TV remote was not for that TV and was stuck on close captioning o No blanket in the spare bedroom room o You are expected to tidy your own room. We found a vacuum in a bedroom closet that does not work. There is also a broom in the kitchen that has a broken handle only 2 feet long and duct taped to the base and no dust pan. You must launder your own towels, and you used to have bedsheets changed once during your stay, however we were there for 10 days and that didn’t happen. Facility Maintenance • Pools received maintenance daily which was great • Pool and beach gate are opened at 9:00 am. Day 2 it was 9:45 and the gate was still locked. I had to call and ask for it to be opened. The alternative is to walk through a parking area that has broken glass, garbage and a pair of men’s underwear that sat there for 3 days. • Kids pools and hot tubs had garbage in them including cigarette butts, garbage bags, water bottles and what appeared to be a dissolved diaper that had settled on the bottom • The outdoor seating area there was a tooth flossing stick that sat there for a week. Empty beer cans and bottles (although glass is prohibited in the area). There is a decorated fire pit filled with glass balls that were scattered on the ground and stayed that way for a week. • One woman on the elevator said she had what she thought might be cat vomit outside her room for the previous 4 days. (no pets permitted). We joked about how many days it would likely be there before someone cleaned it. • In order to access the ice machine, you are required to reach over a pile of garbage to get to it. • The GM explained that cleaning had been outsourced. They need to rethink this as vacuuming within the building happened once in 10 days that we could tell. Elevator doors, walls and floors were filthy. • There was a chocolate cookie on the floor of the indoor pool area that sat there for 5 days • This is a “no smoking” building. People openly smoked and vaped in the pool area. There were cigarette butts all over the pool area floor both indoors and outdoor. • There was often a strong smell of marijuana on many of the floors and in the pool area. • There were often boom boxes in the pool area playing loud music which if you liked the tunes was fine but this was one of the things prohibited in the list of rules at check in. • No staff ever visited the area to enforce any of the rules meant for the comfort and enjoyment of guests. This review is completely factual and we have posted just a few photos. We paid on average over $200/night to stay in what I would describe as something that you might rent by the hour in a seedy neighbourhood. Do yourself a favour. There are lots of places to stay in Myrtle Beach. Don’t even think about this one.…
We really enjoyed our stay here. This resort is clean and our condo was well equipped with everything we needed. The pool area is awesome. Our grandson enjoyed playing in all the pools every day. Even though it was chilly during our stay he felt the water was just right. Check in was smooth and the employees were nice. Our grandson commented the last day “ when we come to Myrtle Beach again can we stay at this same hotel”? The location is nice. It’s within walking distance of shops and restaurants. We felt safe in this area. Also the beach is well maintained.
Clean, amazing view and that’s about it. I f you’re looking for a place with amenities this is NOT the place. It’s worn and next to nothing, so plan on bringing your own soap, salt pepper and any other basic kitchen utensils. The refrigerator made an annoying buzzer sound and the lights on the stove never turned off. The couch had white duct tape and there was no soap to be found in the place . The sheets were clean and the beds were ok, not the best but not the greatest either. So why 3 stars, because the view is absolutely gorgeous (room 802) and it didn’t smell musty and moldy.
Zero rating if possible! I've just returned from a visit to Oceans One Resort in Myrtle Beach which was described as luxurious and new (condo 1608). There were descriptions of enhanced cleaning processes. I have stayed in rentals across this country and internationally and occasionally it was necessary to stay in less desirable accommodations due to immediate need and knew we were staying in a sub-par place. We were deceived into thinking this was a higher quality condo through pics and site info. There is no parking on-site but across the street where a separate building houses check-in. The resort proper has no staff. We saw no security nor a concierge. We observed occupants who happened to be in the hall push the button to allow people entrance without them entering a code. The "lobby" was dingy; the elevators old and noisy. When we entered the condo it smelled of stale cigarettes (sold as non-smoking), walls were dingy and marked up, the carpets were dirty and wrinkled in places, the kitchen was filthy and understocked with old worn appliances and food service items, all the fixtures in the bathrooms were old and looked stained, floors were sticky, the mattresses were ancient and everything was dusty. Astounding was a toilet that ran constantly and had a bowl and tank filled with hot water! No repair for the duration. There was no room service; if you wanted clean towels or sheets, you had to trek across the road with dirty linens for fresh. Drawers on the buffet wouldn't stay closed and knobs were missing. Some innovative person used a string as a pull. Light switches and wall plugs were dirty not sanitized. There was little evidence of cleaning nor care. I feel it is useless to complain. The owner of this condo should be ashamed or not allowed to rent under Condo-World or Oceans One. For the money plus hefty cleaning fee we paid, this place should have been spotless. Staff were pretty useless. Never would I stay there/recommend it. Beware!…
no early check ins or late check outs allowed. the place was outdated and filthy. no remotes for the bedroom tv's. the wall between the toilet and the spa tub in the king bathroom was cracked and peeling. you can see this all in the pictures i posted. it reminded us of a sleezy motel.
Great staff, excellent breakfast the site is dated (which we knew) We liked it but if you are looking for topline new accommodations then this is not the place for you. The beach is marvelous. Not much to do around the resort however shopping is accessible as city is well laid out and easy to get around.
Had blood stains on the wall. Paint peeling off the walls. Tile come loose from the floor and old dingy sheets. Not to mention the whole in the couch. Called front desk and they brought up disinfectant to clean the blood off the wall ourselves. They didn’t even offer to refund our money! 😡 Not worth the money!!!
Good location in Myrtle Beach near many restaurants and places of interest. We rented from VRBO and our room was very clean and had a great view. The worst part is the small elevator lobby and the wait time for an elevator. Overall, I would stay again and we had no issues about the property.
