The manager of transportation went above and beyond to ensure we got out and enjoyed the river. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable.I would highly recommend thus location for the staff! We will be visiting again!
This place is literally a sewer. Disgusting in every way. The complex was apparently bought recently by Northgate Resorts, and rather than do the right thing and just shut down the facility until they do their grand makeover of the place, they decided to just keep operating with a mentally checked-out staff and zero customer service. So, campground and facilities? 0 out of 10 there. We arrived to an annoyed teenager checking us in at the front desk who from the very outset explained that they had been bought out and to not expect much. Then there is the campground. We arrived to find litter and trash all over our spot, with dozens of cigarette butts surrounding the fire ring. The fire ring itself was full of half burnt trash and ash and had to be cleaned out before we could even use it. The previous campers' trash was also in shredded bags right on the edge of the site, attracting animals and bugs. And it was still there when we left, they did not come around for trash once. Facilities wise, it is sad to say that the porta-potty by the site was the cleaner of the options for bathroom facilities. :O The actual restrooms and showers were beyond disgusting. They had bugs and flys all over, and I am hoping that the brown stuff tracked throughout them was mud, though I highly doubt it. See pictures below. It was a disgrace. And needless to say, the stalls were completely not usable. Beyond disgusting. So why did I book Kittatinny in the first place? Oh, right, it was for the activities. They list paintball and ziplines on their website, and as these were things my kids wanted to do, seemed like the perfect place. But no. On our first day there we stopped by the activities window and were told that paintball is closed for the season (great to tell us now, but their website shows it open). Also, zip lines? Nope, no appointments available for at least 6 days, which was longer than we were staying. The funny part? Our camp was right below the zipline. They said they were booked solid until Friday, yet we saw no more than 2 or 3 people go down the line each day. Plain and simple, the staff just did not want to be bothered. This was a failure on all fronts, and the staff at the camp could care less. Northgate should be ashamed, for this is the image they want to portray? The honorable thing to do would have been to shut down until whatever makeover they plan is complete. Not take the money and waste the precious vacation time of people when they are not going to provide the promised services. Do your self a favor and stay far away from Kittatinny and from Northgate!…
The campground is small and extremely crowded. The pricing is one of the highest in the area. The staff is extremely unaccommodating. The noise from the highway is VERY loud all night long, and that is in a camper with the air conditioning running, not a tent. I found another place to move to and even with 3 days notice for early checkout they refused to refund me any of my money. Extremely disappointed with the customer service!!! Will be sure to let all my friends know not to come to this location for camping.
Quiet time if advertised as being enforced..from 11-7. This was not even close. There was screaming and partying until 2am one night and 4am the second night. We actually left a day early because it was so bad. Someone was cleaning the bathrooms every two hours, even overnight, so the campground was well aware of the noise and no one did anything. The sites were crammed together so we almost tripped over the ten ropes of our neighbors. We're in the middle of Covid and the campground has people on top of eachother. There was no social distancing and very few people were wearing masks in the restroom. One of the store workers never wore a mask, even when she was interacting with customers. Absolutely no privacy at all. There was only on bathroom in our area and they took forever cleaning it. They could have cleaned half the bathroom at a time so the line of women could use the other half.…
I rarely ever leave bad reviews but felt that I should so that another family didn't end up in the same situation. My family camps a lot and this was by far the worse camping experience I've ever had. We booked for two nights and left after the first. The campsites are on top of each other and people pile in multiple tents, cars, grills, games, and more, so you are literally on top of each other. There is no privacy and no seclusion. The next person's tent is literally a few feet away. It's like camping in a parking lot, or sleeping at a tailgate party. On top of that, people were up partying, cursing, and playing loud music until 2am. No joke. It sounded like they were right outside our tent. I'm all for people having a good time but this was excessive. Only pro is that there is river access but the site is SO crowded, there are people everywhere on the river, too. Very unpleasant. Found a much nicer nearby site for our second night and ate the cost of the reservation. Very disappointing.…
