All around lovely experience. Beautiful property, as well as rooms. The family room I shared with my parents was the perfect fit for three people. Modern, rustic decor. Quiet location. Peaceful sleep.

We chose this backpackers from the website, which said, "walking distance from beach"...
Hmmm... 1 1/2km (we measured it) down a precipitous road to the beach. "Hiking distance from beach" would be more accurate... And if you were to hike back with your surfboard, you'd need a support team coming behind you with resuscitation kits...!
Having said that, the facilities were fine - it was clean enough and the rooms, though small, and windowless, were comfortable.
We were lucky to have convivial fellow travellers and we had a great evening.

Surfari is the price of a hostel, but the quality of a nice hotel. The location is stunning, the building is beautiful and the rooms are exactly what we needed for our visit to Vic Bay.

The whole experience was pulled together by the front of house manager, Sylvester. He couldn’t do enough to make our stay comfortable, and nothing was too big an ask. Thank you Sylvester!!

Unexpected surprise. Beautiful views and stunning interior. Love the communal space in different areas, levels and scenery. You can hide in your own private space or share the vibe of youngsters in one of the communal areas or more quiet visitors in other areas. Would be a stunning place to share as a family.

Beautiful place, run by the extremely hospitable Marissa. From putting blankets on guests in lounge area, to lending us her car when we lost our keys! Special place, surrounded by beautiful forest full of birds with sea views. A bit like staying in a 5 star boutique hotel rather than backpackers. Makes me proud to be South African. Kids didn't want to leave : ) Excellent surf just down the road too. 5/5!

Place looks amazing. Got a great kitchen a pool table, table tennis a cheap bar. We slept 8 people at the dorm room, only problem was that one of the bed planks was broken. The place is secured by a fence had great view for the beach and great for the price. Very close to the beach and the old train tracks hiking route
