#7 of 10 B&Bs / Inns in Lititz
Welcome to the Lititz Springs Inn and Spa. The Inn was built in 1764 and originally named The Zum Anker. Over time the Inn became the Lititz Springs Hotel, then in 1930 the name was changed to The General Sutter Inn to honor John Augustus Sutter, who lived his last seven years in Lititz. Little was known of his full history at the time, only that he was instrumental in the Gold Rush in California. Recently, it has come to light that John Sutter’s legacy did not reflect modern values. After being informed of this, the Inn’s new owner, David Stoudt, decided to rename the Inn to honor the heritage and history of Lititz. “Since 1764 we have stood for hospitality, kindness and inclusion. We have worked to foster a welcoming and inviting experience for all. And while we have a lot to learn, this is an important first step to a better and more just future.” – David Stoudt Come check us out and enjoy the shopping and attractions of beautiful Lititz, Pennsylvania.

Stayed one night with our 2 Boston terrors, Enzo and Mona Lisa. Had a lovely dog friendly room. Clean and nicely appointed - we did not want for anything. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a small issue with the entertainment system and they got it resolved lickety split. Wife did not want to leave the dogs and travel for dinner so she booked a reservation at the hotel restaurant. Glad she did. Food and service were excellent. I had the best tomato bisque I have ever tasted. We will be back if we ever need to stay in or near Lititz (accent on the first syllable, just so you know in advance).

Wife and I arrived at this electric historic inn and were warmly greeted, given keys and cookies and recommendations for breakfast. Room was spacious and quiet (214) and really dark at night despite being in Main St. Third floor was from a nearby parallel universe, same base decor but heavily tributes to concert sound, much of the tech invented in Lititz. Really fascinating!

Staff was wonderful, glitch occurred in reservation system. The manager was very accommodating and sat us all at the bar. We picked from the menu and we all shared apps, entrees served at the Bar, very friendly and not rushed despite occupying the bar. We had the most fun with live classic rock band in the background on their famous Patio. Bye the way creative stylings of classic grille menu take it to another level. A must do when visiting Lititz.

We stayed here this past weekend for the stay and play. They allowed us to check in early and the staff could not have been nicer. The room was super comfortable and quaint. We stayed on the 2nd floor to enjoy the deep bathtub. The mattress and bedding were amazing. The 4 course meal included was excellent. Service and quality was great. The ghost investigation was fun and informative. The guys with thru the veil we’re exciting and knowledgeable. We had a great time and it was a perfect thing to do over a chilly Halloween weekend. It was a great deal. I hope they do it again next year. We also loved the cute stores/boutiques within walking difference of the inn.

First time we stayed here it was very nice. Room was nice, shower was small but adequate. Seemed like detail was put forth. This time the bathroom was huge and beautiful but had a claw toothed tube with a shower surround with shower curtains. The problem was you need 3 shower curtains. the curtains were not large enough to either spray water out the back or splash water out the front where the faucets were. Plus not sure why the room had only one waste basket. if you have a coffee maker there why can't there be a trash can. also when we did make coffee we had to use our toothbrush handle to stir in the cream. No stirs. I really did like the mini-splits for ac/heat but you should have instructions somewhere on how to use them. Bed was very comfortable. Seemed like a lack of detail to me. I would assume management has changed from last visit. The parking also is a problem. They have designated spots in a lot beside the building but all the people that come to the restaurant are parking in them. Had to move my vehicle 2 times so I wouldn't get towed. Maybe a parking voucher to put on your dash, but others will probably still park in the spots. Overall just ok.

Dear Terry P., Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We appreciate your feedback. I apologize for your experience during this visit. We do not have instructions on how to work the heaters as they are not typically needed and our knowledgeable staff is always ready and willing to assist. Thank you for the recommendation regarding the trashcan. We have since remedied this. I apologize for the parking as this is a town wide issue. We have 10 spots specifically for hotel guests and we do our best to police them. We are always happy to guide guests to our employee parking when asked. We only have 2 rooms with clawfoot tubs so, if you stay with us again, I would highly recommend room 304; the shower is fabulous. Sincerely, Erin Stroyan-Peduzzi Assistant General Manager.
