Two couples shared The Barracks at Corynnia Station. It was comfortable, in the style of a small two bedroom cottage, with a bathroom, small kitchen area and seating area. It is located near the communal kitchen area, and near a great open fire pit.

Dear Sirs --- We are planning a trip to Australia which we hope to include a farm stay at a station we visited in 1976. At the time it was owned by a family of Danish immigrants who were completely charming. The father, who I recall as the twin of the Brit actor Michael Rennie, and his wife have no doubt passed away. But our hope is that one of his four beautifully blonde daughters married a lad who wanted to keep the station going --- and that like her parents she still welcomes farm-stay guests. I suspect the station we have in mind may either be Corynnia or be not too far from you. The Information I can recall that may help you identify the operation is as follows: · The station was very large and devoted principally to the raising of sheep. · To get to the station, we drove due north from Melbourne, and I recall that we cross the Murrumbidgee River at Hay, so the station is probably somewhere north of the river. · The station had pens for the sheep, bunkhouses for the itinerant shearers and a large white main house with two or three floors and numerous bedrooms. · The father of the family had an engineering background and had had a role in organizing the surrounding station-owners into a cooperative that brought irrigation to the region for the raising of crops. · I remember being surprised that it took us less than a day to return to Sydney from the station, driving pretty much due east. The return route took us through Bathurst. I know that this is a long shot, but with only the scanty information we’ve provided above, might it be possible to you to identify the station and provide its contact information? We’d be most grateful if you could. Best, David
