Had a comfortable and cosy overnight stay . Rooms were spacious and plenty of amenities. Electric blankets and oil heaters kept things toasty. Service was friendly and personable. Breakfast was a treat and table served so very pleasant. We also had a couple of people not come along and they reduced the price ( which they didn’t have to) but very much appreciated!
My family organised my 70th birthday in the Cybil Room of the hotel. Sandy the events co-ordinator met us for our pre-event and we had a good meeting going over all the points we felt important. Sandy was lovely and very easy to talk to and organise. Nothing was a problem. The evening went smoothly and the food was very good. The staff were very helpful and friendly and even loved our Scottish bagpiper playing away on everyone's arrival. There is a lovely comfortable and inviting lounge area with fire although we could not use this as there was another 60 person guest group arriving or a wedding too. We all used the bar area and although a small area, it all worked well and everyone was happy. The rooms were lovely, clean and well appointed. We have no complaints whatsoever and Links House made my big birthday memorable ...quite amazing! Thank you Joe and Sandy! June-Rose…
We stayed at Links Hotel for a family reunion at it was fabulous. The team catered for us with finger food and it was delicious. The team that Jo has are just fabulous and are willing to have a chat with their guests at anytime. Accommodation was great with the whole atmosphere so welcoming. We will definitely be back. Jo, Tracy, Michael, Bella and the rest of the team, fabulous.
The property's website plus many of the Trip Advisor reviews led us to believe this would be a slightly old fashioned, but extremely comfortable place to stay in Bowral. As we paid exactly the same per night as we did for the Hyatt in Canberra the next three nights, we were extremely unhappy with the experience. The bed was comfortable, but the furnishings all need cleaning, renovation and repair. What looks like a cupboard door leads into the bathroom that is the smallest possible. We understand it's an extremely old property, but possibly the solution is to renovate into larger rooms with larger bathrooms, and leave a couple of rooms for a single person. No particular comments about the breakfast - but the service was haphazard. The staff were friendly and willing, but items were brought out in the wrong order and often forgotten. Dinner one night was extremely disappointing.…
Proximity to town and their excellent outsourced restaurant Ethos lifts this hotel rating to 4 stars. Think old country motel and you won't be disappointed! But, think cool autumn evening, it’s 5.40, unable to read in our room because the lights are so dim! Let’s order a pre-dinner drink in front of the fire in the main lounge before the restaurant opens at 6.30 pm. Splendid idea, but the lounge is not open to guests although we can see lots of people inside. More guests arrive, we are all cold and waiting. Finally, someone comes to tell us that they’re having a staff meeting about a meditation group arriving the next day. Around 6.10 the meeting is over. My question is: why not have their meeting earlier or in the conference room? Good hospitality is people-oriented, it follows proper management practices and trains staff properly. We are paying guests, not your friends, and guests come first or they don’t come back.…
