Excellent location, close to town, but in a quiet street. Very attractive building. But that's where it stops. We booked a king room on the ground floor and it had been confirmed. On arrival, that room wasn't available and we were moved to an upstairs king room. Not a major drama, but not as confirmed. Hotel is clearly undergoing renovation but sadly not yet complete. Room was freezing because the A/ C had not been switched on! Comment from the staff was “ we should have asked”! There was no heating whatsoever in the (immaculate) bathroom so it was like an icebox. No clothes storage other than three hooks on the wall. No drawers or wardrobes. Breakfast was a bowl of muesli plus some yoghurt in a flat bowl, with a teaspoon! To be eaten on your knee, because there was no table or chairs, other than a couple of lounge chairs and a very low coffee table. A number of lights in the room were not working. All in all, very disappointing, but great potential.

Living in the Brisbane area and with all the Covid stuff going on we booked at short notice for a 3 night getaway. We were looking for somewhere as a comfy base to explore the surrounding area, Byron down to Yamba and inland, Ballina fitted the bill and then fortunately we spotted the Ballina Manor Boutique Hotel, so glad we did. Super easy booking direct through the Hotels online site, we immediately liked the look of the place, the reviews were positive and it offered great value for money .... especially compared to the prices in the very popular Byron area. We chose Room 12, which was top floor with stairs to climb and we expected that and it was worth it. The room was comfy and well appointed relaxing and quiet heaps of space for the two of us and a super comfy bed. Best nights sleep I have had in a long time. A little totally private balcony was an ace spot to relax with a drink or enjoy a tasty breakfast. The building has some great history as a former girls boarding school and it stands rightfully proud just a few minutes drive to the restaurants of Ballina. Byron is a 40 min drive north along the coastal road with plenty of beautiful spots to drop in on the way. All in all a splendid relaxing getaway, so glad we found the Ballina Manor Hotel and would definitely recommend to family and friends looking for peace and quiet, quality accommodation and service in a lovely building and spot.

Absolutely loved this place! The staff were extremely attentive in every way. We stayed two nights, could not have been happier. We stayed in room 11 up in the attic. This grand old house comes filled with history and charm. This time of year meant that the restaurant was shut for dinner, but they served a lovely breakfast. The room was perfectly appointed. The bed very comfortable and the bathroom with double shower and bath was perfect. Highly recommended if you want that something special!

Stayed here for a night with my partner and am happy to say it was definitely worth it! Would highly recommend the Room (number 12) given the spaciousness and unique decoration. Being on the top floor additionally provided a great balcony view. In terms of the location, the Manor was 500 metres away from Ballina's main restaurant and shopping area, which meant the surroundings were very quiet and peaceful. Of particular noteworthiness was the Manor's outstanding service! After being stranded at 7am on Sunday with our taxi failing to show up for an airport run, the Manor Owner kindly took us in his Ute to ensure we didn't miss our flight. It was this level of care that saved our holiday and would definitely make us come back again to stay. Thank you Ballina Manor Team!

This boutique hotel has an interesting history, starting life as a girls’ school, and there is a selection of items from that time including a school magazine which is worth a read. Our room was room 7. On the first floor (no lift) but worked really well for my adult daughter and me as it was like a mini suite with the second bed separated from the other one. Staff are very friendly, breakfast is good and there is free wifi, good location of power points and a mini bar and free tea making.
