We had the breakfast on the first night but based on the price and quality, we decided to visit the Wetherspoons round the corner for the rest of the visit, we managed to get 2 breakfasts there for the same price as one at the travelodge! The location is below the path from Heathrow, didn't bother us once we got used to it but something to consider.
Good for your basic needs.
I have stayed at lots of different Travelodge's mostly around the West Country, and this one was pretty standard with the usual comfy bed and hot shower - and given its location, excellent sound proofing. There is a restaurant and bar onsite, but I had eaten earlier in the day and didn't want breakfast when I left at 3.30am, so I bought something en route and just ate in my room. The menu looked okay for those who can't be bothered to go out, but of course there are loads of restaurants close by if you want something different and it is a perfectly safe area to walk around at night. For me it was really just somewhere to crash before my early start the following day.
The wifi is expensive and overly complicated to log on. You only get two devices and the signal is so weak that it barely works at all. Don't bother with it.
The extra beds for the kids are very uncomfortable. There are no tissues or shampoo or bathmats provided. These are pretty basic things for a hotel to provide, even a budget one.
The towels had stains on them. Absolutely disgusting to think it is okay to give them out to guests. The overhead light shade in the room was FULL of dead bugs. Gross.
The hotel is very close to the train station (all steps so quite a chore with luggage) and a short walk to shops, restaurants and buses to Hampton Court Palace.
Check in was quite fast. It took like 2 minutes to get checked in.
I got a room on the second floor facing Bulstrode rd which wasn't a busy road and so it was quiet. The windows are also sound proofed which was great! The room is also heated / has heating.
The room was clean, the bathroom also appeared new / newly renovated. There is a table / desk and a chair, actually two chairs in the room. There was also an electric water kettle and teas, coffee and sugar. They do not provide water though, but the water from the tap is clean and safe to drink. There is a small flat screen TV in the room as well with a couple of channels to watch.
There is no wardrobe for your clothes and bags, but there is a hanging bar with five hangers which you can use. The bed was nice and comfortable, big enough for two people. The bedding are changed once every 5-7 days, the towels are ok they are changed upon request so you can have them changed daily if you wanted.
WiFi is free for only 30mins everyday, otherwise you can pay 3£ for unlimited WiFi per day.
There are lots of nearby shops and restaurants to have your meals or do your shopping. There is also a bar and restaurant at the hotel itself. It is generally safe to walk even in the evenings and at night. There's construction works going on at a site just next to the hotel.
Checkout time is before noon (12pm) and its strict. You can choose to extend your checkout time to 2pm for 10£
Special thank you to Manisha, she was great!
She was at the reception and she was helpful and always smiling and friendly. She would always take care of any requests i made when i left in the mornings and she made sure they were done / provided when i came back to the room. I stayed there for two weeks and i enjoyed my stay.
The area around the hotel is univiting and we had difficulty finding anywhere half decent to eat out. For one night booked at low cost for onward travel to Heathrow this hotel is perfect. For multiple nights we would recommend going somewhere other than Hounslow.
We would like to recommend anyone looking for their value of their money and to have their restful nights on a comfy bed etc.
The only drawback is that they do not provide Wifi and that we had to pay for coverage.
Staff at the Travelodge Hounslow are always welcoming and friendly. I am a frequent visitor and will carry on using the hotel as it's lighter on the wallet than hotels in Central London. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable.
