Shattered by the time we got here, to be greeted with a very sympathetic welcome. Room on the 5th floor and it was fine. Comfortable bed, plenty of space, decent bathroom and impressively quiet from the airport and other guests.
Breakfast provided and was surprisingly good. Full buffet style breakfast with cooked English, cereals, muffins, croissants, fruit, toast etc. much like a 'proper' destination hotel. Juices and hot drinks also available and attentive table staff clearing effectively and offering help, including encouraging us to take some extras with us in the provided paper bags - a very nice touch and meant we didn't have to stop for snack on the journey home.
For the relatively small cost, the convenience and comfort this provided compared to driving from the plane, it's worth every penny.

Unless you sleep in the terminal itself, it's not possible to find a closer or more convenient place for the night.
Regardless of which terminal you arrive at, simply take the free airport train to Terminal 4, and then proceed through an enclosed walkway directly to the hotel. Check-in was fast, efficient, and friendly. The climate control system requires one quick phone call to the front desk to be up and running. The heating and cooling system is centralized, so when guests notify them about the desired temperatures, it is quickly taken care of.
The room and bathroom were spotless. The furniture looked new and was in fabulous condition. The bed was a typical European mattress, harder than is usual in the US, but immaculate and comfortable. Linens were clean and wrinkle-free. The pillows were plump, clean, and fresh-smelling. There was a writing desk, ironing board, iron, closet, teapot and beverage choices, and a large television in the room. There was plenty of light in the bedroom, and USB charging slots were on both sides of the bed.
The bathroom towels were soft, thick, absorbent, and brilliantly white. The shower had plenty of hot water and good water pressure. All the fixtures worked well, and the soap/shampoo were dispensed from bottles attached to the walls. The only negative about the bathroom was the lack of additional products, such as conditioner, hand/body lotion, shower cap, etc.
Breakfast choices were plentiful, with selections of cold cereals, porridge, breads, yogurts, fruits, and traditional English breakfast items such as beans, delicious sausages, ham, and scrambled eggs. The choices and the coffee were quite good. If you're in a hurry, they have Grab and Go bags to put your breakfast selections in to take with you, a very handy perk for guests on the run.
If we ever have another overnight layover at Heathrow, we will definitely stay here. It's close, convenient, clean, and comfortable.

Excellent FREE Buffet Breakfast with Bacon, Eggs, Sausages, Pastries, Juice, Coffee, Tea, Hot Chocolate (the BEST croissants I've EVER had). We saved so much money and were so full that we usually would skip lunch and have an early dinner.
All of the staff were so fantastic!!! We arrived early at 10am from Australia with 2 kids and they made a few phone calls and had us in a room within the hour. So grateful for their thoughtfulness!
The room and bathroom was sparkling clean, the aircon/heating worked well, rooms smelled fresh and plenty of room for all of our luggage without feeling cramped!
Because of the fantastic service we received at this Holiday Inn location, we have now booked into the Holiday Inn Suites in Orlando Florida Universal Studios! And will only stay at Holiday Inn Suites all over the world where ever possible!

As an IHG spire elite member I stay at IHG brand hotels throughout the world and have to say this is the best Holiday Inn express that I've ever set foot in. The facilities were of a much higher quality than most full service Holiday Inns and this is without a doubt the best IHG property on the heathrow hotel scene.
Its located adjacent to terminal 4 via a covered walkway which takes you to an esculator that leads into a spacious atrium lobby with a very high end hotel feel. Convenient whatever terminal you fly into since you can use the heathrow express to move between terminals for free which also saves the rip off heathrow hoppa hotel bus fees.
We were allocated a top floor room. Although we were directly overlooking terminal 4, we did not hear 1 bit of noise either externally or internally. One of the quietest hotels that we have ever slept in. The bed was super comfortable and everything in the room fely completly new and spotlessly clean. We later went downstairs to enjoy drinks in the beautiful destination bar. The atmosphere was lovely and the service was first class. One of the nicest bars I have ever been in at a Holiday Inn express. The following morning, we enjoyed a lovely self service buffet breakfast where the food was fantastic.
This is now my hotel of choice when in transit at LHR

My last stay here was in March enroute back home just before the lock down started. The airport and hotel were unbelievebably quiet as things were starting to get a little scarey but we were very well looked after and felt very safe.
This is an interesting property that consists of both Holiday inn express rooms and crowne plaza rooms, 2 IHG brands operating within one hotel.
As a spire elite member, I nearly always stay in crowne Plaza branded hotels when I travel , but not here because they don't give Spire elite members access to the lounge, which I have never come across before and I think is absolutely disgusting!!! As free breakfast is the most important benefit to me when i travel, I now have stopped using the crowne plaza here and book a holiday inn express room instead which entitles me to free breakfast as standard!!! In this location, its not an issue, since the hotel features the new style Holiday Inn express rooms which are much more comfortable than most Holiday Inn's, also if you are staying in a Holiday Inn express room you still have access to the Crowne Plaza bar and restaurants as all facilities are shared.
Rooms are exceptionally quiet which is important during a transit stop. Beds are exceptionally comfortable ensuring a good nights sleep. Bathrooms are lovely and have more of a 4 star feel with walk in power shower. Breakfast is a hot and cold buffet, wifi is free and fast and spire elite members receive the usual free welcome drinks voucher
Even if flying out of T 5 this is a good choice because you can travel around the terminals free via the train system rather than having to pay the extortinate charges that the heathrow hoppa charges to get to other airport hotels.

We had a family room with 1 double bed and a sofa bed. The room was very quiet with a huge TV screen. The room felt a bit cramped with the sofa bed made up as a bed and no chair to sit on, but it was perfect for a good night's sleep after a long flight.
All the family rooms face the internal courtyard, which means that there is no mobile phone reception in the room.
Buffet breakfast is served from 5:00am to 10:00am (hot meals from 6:00am). We were very impressed with the service at breakfast, very friendly and super efficient. We loved the warm croissants. Bacon was nice too, moist and not overcooked, but I wouldn't recommend the sausages.
Gym, at the Crowne Plaza next door, costs £10.

Hotel is a modern and spacious hotel room just a few mins walk from the check in halls of Terminal 4 Heathrow. The rooms are modern, large and well comfortable. Shower water pressure could be better, but otherwise, great for an overnight stay for early flights or late arrivals. Breakfast in the morning is very good for a Holiday Inn Express and ticks all the boxes for a simple, but well put together meal. Would highly recommend.

I arrived to the Hotel at 11:15pm and after a busy day travelling, had barely eaten. I expressed how hungry I was to the guy checking me in, asked if there were any vending machines which there wasn’t, and ordered a soup, the only vegetarian thing on the menu on an evening. All went well, and staff in reception were really polite and welcoming. Checked into my room which was lovely and clean and a nice size And impressive for the price. WiFi is a little complicated and had to call reception as I got given the wrong password. After 45 mins waiting for soup, I called reception, and the lady was polite and said she would call room service and get the food sent straight away. 20 mins later, over an hour since ordering, I’m getting annoyed so I call reception again and get told that I should have collected my food from the lobby. “Well, how would I know that if no one tells me?” I question. The man is polite and tells me he’ll sort it out. It then gets to 1am and I decide it’s too late to eat as I’m travelling in the morning so I call reception again to cancel my order. The woman is polite and apologetic which makes complaining feel quite awkward even though I’m not happy. She tells me a few times she’ll try and get in touch with room service, even though I keep saying I don’t want soup tonight/for the rest of my life at this point. Anyway now, I’m hungry, cranky, waiting for someone to knock on my door in the middle of the night with a bowl of soup and left feeling like this hotel is much worse than it actually is.

A very elegant hotel with welcoming reception staff and porter. Clean, comfortable rooms with coffee making facilities and a large shower. The short, covered walkway to Terminal 4 makes it the ideal overnight stopover for that early morning flight, at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended

I have used this hotel on several locations. The hotel is modern and of a good standard. The location at terminal 4 means that transport with the free TFL and Heathrow express trains gives good access to all terminals. The only down side is the reliability of the TFL service. I have on a few occasions experienced the train to have some large delays and even cancelled.
