Costa Dulce ( the sweet coast in Spanish) is a true eco lodge integrated with nature. Much thought and consideration has gone into the location of all of our buildings keeping the jungle undisturbed and vibrant. To preserve the natural beauty of the jungle the entire place has been has been hand built using traditional construction methods. Spread across a jungle hill rising up from the from playa Escameca Grande, Costa Dulce consists of 11 individual Bungalows and Cabins and 1 room, two yoga shalas, a large lounge/common area , wellness centre and a restaurant the Dulce Cocina. Enjoy ocean views from our eco friendly pool or while relaxing in a hammock or sofa from your front porch. Open air design in all of our unique rooms keeps you cool while connecting you with nature. The Dulce Cocina keeps you healthy and happy with delicious family style meals. Delicious is an understatement the food is amazing! Traditional Nicaraguan food blended with yoga inspired healthiness.

Costa Dulce was an incredible retreat in breathtaking nature on the southern coast of Nicaragua. The beach is steps away and you practically have it to yourself every time you visit. Sunsets are unreal. The views are also awe-inspiring. Staying here is the perfect way to be embraced by nature and live the calm, coastal life in Central America. It is the perfect mix of quiet retreat and engaging activity. There are yoga classes and other events like hiking throughout the week and you can surf at the beach or a nearby beach whenever you like. The activities manager Juner is super knowledgeable and is open to planning any activities or day trips that you want (for example, you could go to San Juan Del Sur, Masaya, Granada, Ometepe, etc.). The surf instructor Freddie is excellent. I had the best times on the water learning to surf with him and watching turtles and rainbows form behind the waves. There is also an amazingly refreshing pool with an incredible view to enjoy andh a bar next to it for enjoying a cocktail or coconut whenever you please. The meals are fresh, local, and nutritious. Meals are served at the same time everyday and you eat with the others staying at the hotel. This was a beautiful part of every day - coming together with the community and sharing meals. I met the most amazing people there. I really liked the pace of things - everything was calm and very informal in a way that you felt like you were at home. Everything was peaceful and you could spend time on your own wandering or doing whatever you needed to do and also opt into more social time if you wanted to, with other guests or through activities. We also did a lot of special events like a Full Moon Ceremony, sweat lodge, ice bath, bonfires and cacao scrubs hosted by the manager Tara and also salsa, boating, hiking, and party trips nearby. I can't forget to mention the incredible massages offered here - please do yourself a favour and get a 4-handed massage at the spa! The rooms are really separate bungalows and all have a different style and set-up. However, most if not all have an ocean view from the bed and from the shower. I stayed in the room called "Congo" and found it to be amazing. The staff comes and cleans your room everyday like a normal hotel, which was nice as I stayed for over one month. You can also get your laundry done, which was very convenient. It is about a 30-minute drive to town but most people only go once a week at most, as they prefer just staying in nature and relaxing and enjoying the amenities. It is best to go here for a retreat, to relax, or for a longer stay when you feel like being in nature and not having to worry about anything, but you could also get a ride and trek into town as much as you want if you wanted more city-type action, but it doesn't make as much sense to do that while staying here. Overall, Costa Dulce was definitely my happy place and home away from home in Central America. The beautiful community spirit made such an enjoyable experience. You end up becoming friends with everyone. It had all the elements of a good hotel, but down-to-earth, nature-focussed, informal, community-based and totally in the wild. This review doesn't even mention the really inspiring values of the owner Tyson in building the place, really in harmony with the land and local people. The owners are also involved in many other initiatives that support the environment and local people to build a sustainable community going forward. The owners bought a lot of nearby land for reforestation, built a community/local-centric natural foods company using local sustainable ingredients and co-op type ownership (called Nica Naturals), and support turtle conservation etc. There is a turtle sanctuary right on the beach and we saw so many baby turtles get released into the wild. Therefore, not only are you going to have an incredible stay in Nicaragua in nature, but you are supporting people that are doing really outstanding work for the planet, starting right in their backyard and people that empower others through food, work, community etc. I'm nothing but impressed with the owners' vision and dedication to amazing values. Thank you so much to these amazing dedicated people and I encourage you to support and visit!

You’ve already spent too much time reading and not enough time booking. Just go! These reviews are all legit. I went as a solo traveler and had an incredible experience. It’s yoga and surfing and great food in the jungle in Nicaragua with some of the coolest people you’ll ever meet while traveling the world. The owners are VERY dedicated to keeping the premises eco-friendly and treating their staff with care and respect. When you go, remember: chill. Take a load off. Soak it in. You’re literally in paradise. And it’s all very affordable. Go! :)

My husband and I traveled to Costa Dulce after reading an article about it in an online blog this spring. The glowing reviews are spot on. We wish we had stayed for a full month while they still offered their residency program, however a week was all we could manage. It was like going to summer camp, in all the best ways. We were there in May and it was beastly hot, but the gorgeous infinity pool is the perfect place to spend the hottest part of the afternoon. The massage shelter is a close second. The yoga teacher team was transitioning while we were there, so we got to experience multiple styles and teachers, and all of the classes we took were wonderful. The surf lessons were a first for us and were a lot of fun. The waves were too big on the beach out front while we were there so they took us to a beach about 30 minutes down the coast which was a fun way to see a bit more of Nicaragua too. We rented a sailboat the last night we were there, which was such a relaxing way to see our last Nicaraguan sunset. We are still missing the food. It was absolutely wonderful. Not having to think about when or what to eat was bliss. We flew in and out of Liberia, which is only about a 2 hour drive away, but crossing the border on foot is a unique experience. The rules are changing constantly about entry and testing requirements, we kept up to date on a Facebook page recommended by CD, we had one hiccup coming back over the border and their driver save the day. I would definitely recommend letting CD arrange your transfers, they made everything like that very easy so that all we had to do was relax!

I’ve literally lived in hotels and hostels and bnbs for the past 15 years. In that time I’ve probably visited over 80 countries, and over a dozen eco/yoga type resorts. And I can easily say Costa Dulce is the most perfect. If Lothlorien and the Ewok Village had a baby on that beach where Morgan Freeman goes after he finally got out of Shawshank - it would be Costa Dulce. So be happy, you no longer need to think about it, Costa Dulce isn’t just the best place for your money, it’s the best place, period.

I spent a fabulous time in Costadulce, a magical place outside of time. Everything's was perfect and beyond my expectations (very high 😅) Wild beach, lovely, flexible and very professional staff team, amazing food (healthy, organic, local...), super easy to plan outdoors activity and arrange private transportation, great spot for surfing, great yoga teachers. I hope this place will remain as special as it is for long years. I will come back for sure !
