Loved this place. Great staff. Breakfast yummy. Location perfect. But folks, this is a noisy little town. So wear earplugs for sleep. The place reminded me of something out of the Great Gatsby. The hotel, at night, there is like a Chunnel of wind vooshing along side the hotel. Sounds like a hurricane but is lovely. If on main floor, hear all movement on second floor, so try for 2nd floor.
After checking out of another hotel in SJDS due to excessive noise, we feverishly searched for a new place to stay (smack dab in the middle of Xmas!). And our search led us to Coco Azul. A charming, breezy little boutique hotel just seconds away from the beach and the main street of SJDS. Let me begin by saying the staff are truly lovely and so helpful. They greeted us every day with a smile and did an incredible job of ensuring the hotel was clean and tidy. We opted for a three-person room on the main floor. It was HUGE - with windows facing the back courtyard, loads of space to hang clothes, store our bags...basically spread out for four nights after living out of a backpack. The rooms upstairs have balconies, but we didn't mind since we were out exploring all day. While we had to share a bathroom, it wasn't an issue. The bathroom was located right outside our door, and the staff kept it super clean. The hotel is so bright and airy - with bright white painted walls and blue accents. Large windows open up to a small patio out front where you can swing lazily in a hammock, or sit in comfy chairs and watch people go by. It's almost like a little courtyard, with a gated entrance that is locked at night (but you have full access to come and go). Breakfast was different each morning, but good and filling - fruit, coffee, fresh juice and some version of eggs with toast, rice and beans....no complaints here. We did have a rather loud couple upstairs who stomped around and practically screamed when they spoke, but security was all over shutting that down. So more props for a hotel that encourages a quieter environment after 10pm.…
It is batter to book when you arrive because prices on internet is 20% higher some times all over SJDS. SJDS is not busy at all all year so you will find place any where accept Dec lat 2 weeks. breakfast is good always make sure you mention num,ber of guest at the time of booking and include breakfast.
We stayed here for over a week. The rooms are the cleanest we've seen in all of Nicaragua. The staff is super friendly and helpfull. Breakfast was included in the price and when we mentioned we were fed up withh the rice and beans, they made the effort to serve us fresh fruit and pancakes, granola and yoghurt for breakfast. Would definitely stay here again. Location is also great, right in town but far away from the noise and nightlife
That New Hostel is well equipped, room are large and clean and some of them with balcony. we shared the bathroom but it was always fresh and clean. you can enjoy some rest in the outside hammock hostel located close to the main street overall is nice but bit expensive to be a hostel
