My wife and I ended up at Hush Maderas after spending a few days in Granada Nicaragua. Neither of us surf but we fell in love with San Juan Del Sur. The hotel is about 15 minutes from the town and has access to (from what we were told) the famous Maderas beach. It was awesome walking down and watching the surfers while we sipped on cold beers. The hotel itself has an awesome location and the on-site restaurant is very solid. The prices were very reasonable, double check your room type though if you require air conditioning since not every room has it. If you are looking for a secluded spot that still checks all the boxes without being overly fancy, go ahead and book with confidence.
We decided to visit Nicaragua after realising how expensive Costa Rica is. Wow are we glad that we did. Tobi and Soba are super nice and do an amazing job. The double beds are super rare for a dorm which is great for travelling couples and they're really good value with breakfast included. The view is amazing. We spent a week at Hush and were more than happy to stare at that view all day long. Very cool space and much nicer than staying in San Juan.
The title says it all. We knew we didn’t want to stay in downtown San Juan Del Sur or take part in any of the big parties so we looked for something on the famously beautiful Playa Maderas that is about 20 minutes outside of town. We saw the picture of the infinity pool at Hush and decided to book it thinking that it probably wouldn’t be as good as it looks in the pictures. We were wrong. This place is a secluded paradise with everything you could possibly need. 4 different levels of views, a projector screen movie area, hammocks, laundry service, yoga, a workout area, easy access to the beach and a huge infinity pool and deck looking out over the ocean. We stayed in the dorms which were the first double bed bunk beds we had see and were extremely comfortable and clean, each equipped with its own person fan and power strip to plug in all of your devices. The only thing it doesn’t have is a kitchen for cooking your own food, but the restaurant is fantastic and the free breakfast is more than adequate. To top it all off, the hostel is run by some of the nicest and most welcoming people we’ve met. We only booked one night but ended up staying 3 nights because we loved it so much. I would urge everyone who is thinking about visiting San Juan Del Sur to book a night here, or at least visit for sunset and drinks. Absolutely incredible!…
A stay at Hush bring you back to your senses. A chill atmosphere, lovely staff and hosts Toby and Sanne. The beach within 5 minutes walking distance. The view is really amazing. Food and drinks are great. There is really no reason not to go there.
Margarita Monday’s . Taco deliciousness 👌 What a great location and view. Unforgettable and amazing evening. Will definitely be back for the view and the taco / drink combo specials on Monday evenings.
