First time at Woodloch and our family had a great time! My husband and I traveled with our five year old daughter and my parents. I will breakdown each category for review. Room: We stayed in an edge water suite in the Springbrook building. The room was clean, comfortable and the perfect layout for our family. We had 2 full bathrooms, a bedroom with two queens, a living room and a balcony overlooking the lake. I requested child bed rails on one of the queen beds and they were installed when we arrived to our room. We were also placed in a suite next to my parents which we requested when we reserved. Food: The food was delicious and plentiful. We had the 2 meals a day meal plan and this worked perfect. We filled up at breakfast, would grab something light at the pool bar for lunch and practically rolled out of dinner. Tons of delicious food! I particularly enjoyed the different salads and soups each night. My husband who is a big meat eater had some sort of steak every night. Plenty of options for my 5 year old. Dinner service ran like a well oiled machine. One person for soft drinks/coffee, separate cocktail server, main server etc. Dinner ran quickly and efficiently which is perfect when you have a young child with limited attention span. Cocktail and wine choices were great! Pool/Lake: Pool area is huge with lots of options. Indoor pool, Outdoor pool,Indoor/outdoor hot tubs, splash pads, water slide and kiddie pools. Towels are provided and pool bar has drinks and snacks. My daughter had a blast! The lake is gorgeous and we enjoyed a peaceful paddle boat ride one day. It was a little chilly so we did not swim in the lake but the beach area is immaculate and the sand looks cleaned and raked. Also a nice beach bar for drinks and lunch items. Activities: My daughter had a blast with the kids club activities, craft room, carnival, and playgrounds. As a family we enjoyed mini golf, bumper cars, bumper boats and go carts. Everything was well set up and organized. My husband and I really enjoyed the horse racing at the nightclub one night. We used the app for the daily schedule. Golf: My husband is an avid golfer and he and my stepfather played 18 holes at the springs one day. He reported that the course was beautiful but very challenging. Spa at the Lodge: RUN do not Walk! I repeat RUN to this amazing piece of heaven. My mom and I tried getting an appointment months before our trip and we were put on a wait list. We received the call the last full day of our trip and it was like Christmas morning! Hard to get into but well worth it. I have been to spas all over the world and this is at the top of the list. The Lavender Garden Dream treatment with Samantha was heaven and put me into another state of consciousness. Afterwards I enjoyed the pool, steam room and multiple whirlpools. The spa is immaculate and you could eat a meal off the locker room floor. I saw attendants cleaning and wasn’t sure what they were cleaning because the place was spotless. Well worth the splurge!! Service: 5 stars for everyone we encountered. Special shout out to Gabby at the indoor playground and Cole at the go carts. Both said they were new but seemed like seasoned pros. Both were friendly, engaging and informative. Gabby actually played with my little one in the indoor playground and my daughter asked everyday to go back to see Miss Gabby. Another shout out to our main server Hailey and cocktail waitress Awesome!! Owners were always around and accessible! All in all a fabulous trip! A few minor suggestions for improvement. 1. Updating the app earlier in the morning. Sometimes it was close to 9:00 before the activities for the day were posted. 2. More lighting in the indoor playground. It was really dark inside the play structure and my daughter would be scared to explore because of the darkness. 3. Possibly offering some matinee performances in the nightclub for the kids. The shows didn’t start until 8:15 and my daughter was out by 8:00 every night after going all day. 4. 7-8 horse races instead of 5. My husband and I were having so much fun and didn’t want it to end!! Just some suggestions but overall this is a great place for a memorable family trip. We hope to be back someday! Thank you Woodloch!!

Hotel's Favourite
We visited Woodloch for the first time last week and liked it so much we are returning tomorrow. It is a fabulous family resort that makes things easy. The edgewater suite could perhaps benefit from a cosmetic refresh, but it is the perfect layout for families, with a beautiful lake view as an added bonus. The activities are plentiful and the app made it easy to schedule. We did all of our meals take-out to avoid indoor dining, and the system the resort set up for that was seamless. The staff were all consistently pleasant and professional, and whatever capacity limits have been set make it possible to responsibly social-distance. It is evident how thoughtful and dedicated the management is to making this a great, safe experience for guests.

WOW, we love that you decided to return for a second stay in two weeks! We're very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your first visit to Woodloch so much and found the new protocols that we've implemented to be seamless. We thank you for your feedback regarding our Edgewater Suites. We re-invest well over a million dollars each year on improvements and renovations and take great care in maintaining immaculate and comfortable accommodations for our guests. We're fortunate to have had gorgeous weather this summer, and the beauty of the takeout meals is that you can enjoy them anywhere across our 1,500+ acre property. As you noted, our staff are crucial to our success; they have done an amazing job of adapting and implementing our new policies and procedures during these challenging times. Thank you very much for your kind review, and we look forward to seeing you again in the near future!

Woodloch is amazing! Great amenities, fantastic food and so many fun things to do. This was, by far, the best vacation I have ever had with a young child. All you need to do is wake up, decide which activities you want to do and go have fun. No googling activities or what is near by. No worrying about where to eat and whether or not they have a kids menu. No worries about forgetting towels or anything else you may need for the day. It was absolutely wonderful.

We returned to Woodloch Pines Resort after an absence of about 20 years and were delighted to see all its charming features remained the same along with many improvements. The setting is ideal - on the shores of a beautiful lake. Lots of water activities available on a first-come, first-served basis. The food remains outstanding - delicious meals served in an extremely friendly and gracious manner. The servers work as a team to make sure service is impeccable but our main servers, Hannah and Carol, were delightful. They always tried to accommodate or anticipate our needs and the food was always served quickly. There are almost too many activities going on at any time but we enjoyed the pool, beach area, water sports (kayaking, paddle boats, paddle boards) and mini-golf especially. The evening shows were a little corny but lots of fun - our Saturday entertainer was John Higbee, Yo-Yo Master. Where else can you see this type of All-American entertainment? It's like a nostalgic visit to the days of the family resorts in the Catskills. We highly recommend this resort to families or for family reunions. Couples would also have a good time.

We went to Woodloch for two nights over Mother's Day weekend. This was our first Spring trip to Woodloch, as we typically go in the summer (and one time in the winter). Since the resort was at half capacity and we booked late, our usual suite by the pool was unavailable; there was only a 5 bedroom house and a three bedroom Tall Woods available. We booked the Tallwoods townhouse. While we will probably return to the suite next time, the Tallwoods was great. It was just too much space for our family of four! The townhouse seemed brand new and it was no problem calling the shuttle to get a ride to the activities/dining. We have had the same waitress, Carol, for five years now and it was great to have her again, like seeing an old friend. This was our first visit since Covid. The rules were laid out and clear, however, not every family followed the rules, particularly at the indoor forest. The attendant must have told the children ten times to keep their masks up, while the parents sat and looked at their phones. I blame the parents, not the resort for this. We had a great time at cupcake wars and the horse racing. They had a show with a world record yoyo guy and the kids liked it. My six year old twins did really miss the characters, but I understand the Covid precautions. My husband and I missed the theme show. The only negative was that the ice rink was closed, when I had assumed it would be opened. Maybe it is not open in the Spring? My daughter and I love it. But overall, it was another great trip and of course we will be returning! Can't wait for the theme show to return! If you are a first timer, be sure to get the teedy freeze coffee drink at Gigi's. I'm obsessed with that drink!

Response from Brooke James, Owner at Woodloch Pines Resort

BSquared0115- Thank you so much for your (5th!) visit, and for taking the time to share some feedback on your stay with the TripAdvisor community. We are so delighted to hear that your first springtime visit was a great experience! Each season at our resort is a little different from the rest, but that's the beauty of things! Flowers begin to bloom, nature truly comes back to life and we of course welcome it with open arms as we spend more times outdoors! With warming weather, guests can take advantage of amenities like boating, rock climbing, go carting, bumper boating and more- and certainly, team events like our Olympics are not to be missed either! We have had great feedback about our newest accommodations, the Tallwood units. These 3 bedroom townhomes are perfect for travelers that favor a little bit more space and privacy than our traditional hotel units. Plus, each features it's own kitchen and outdoor screened decks! After a challenging year in 2020, we found that keeping ice skating seasonal opens up our ice rink as a wonderful "field house" of sorts that will help us with rain contingency through our summer season. We are hopeful to have our Theme Show return to the stage in the near future. We are slowly working our way back to "business as usual" and we thank everyone for their patience and understanding through it all. Thank you so much for the kind words- we hope to see you again soon! Sincerely, on behalf of the Woodloch Family, Brooke James, Owner
