Overleaf Lodge & Spa is lauded by many travelers for providing a valuable stay, with plush amenities and breathtaking ocean views, despite some opinions of it being somewhat costly. The hotel's atmosphere and rooms receive high marks for their spaciousness, cleanliness, and features like fireplaces and jetted tubs. Guests have called out the spa and the well-equipped rooms with balconies as highlights. While the service is generally celebrated for being friendly and helpful, a handful of guests have had less enthusiastic encounters. The hotel's prime location near natural wonders and town amenities also garners appreciation.

In the past we've stayed at Fireside, then at Overleaf to avoid pets (yay, pet free!) This trip we stayed at Overleaf a week, in 3 different rooms due to limited availability. I'll review each room, since ambience is quite different. We love this hotel and would like newbies to have the best experience.
Our 3rd floor Inglenook room #315 was very clean and functional. I'm not sure why the railings on the North wing are higher, but the upper frame is just at eye level, which is unfortunate considering the incredible ocean views. Railings on the other, longer wing are lower, allowing unobstructed views. Although the N wing buffers the prevailing winds, one cannot see the sunset from the balcony.
Our #101, Sunset I believe, was ground floor, which is less private, tho more convenient for beach walks. It was my least favorite, as the views are less spectacular. The suite layout was overkill for the two of us, having 2 bathrooms and a very large separate bedroom, reached from a large central hallway.
Our Cook's Galley #204 was what we remembered from prior stays: an entire wall of windows overlooking the surf - breathtaking. We prefer having our own kitchen.
Overall, the hotel was quiet and desk service was adequate, though perhaps a bit impersonal. Rooms were very clean and well appointed. Breakfast was delivered to the room and was somewhat mediocre, tho plentiful. Considering all the covid rules and stress I think it was quite acceptable - we just warmed food in the microwave. The gas fireplaces are so cozy, especially during foggy days.
The landscaping is lovely and well kept and the 804 trail/Oregon Coast trail along the shore was beautiful and different each day. (and dog owners from next door Fireside did keep dogs leashed and poop picked up). One can follow it South to walk to town (30 min). And following the trail North 15-20 min joins miles of sandy beach.
Tide pools are interesting and local sites like Cape Perpetua and other beaches add interest to the visit.
In town there's a good (expensive) little grocery store that has everything and good restaurants, and Luna Fish has fresh fish for sale. Town was full of people and wait was long at the Yachats brewery, but food was good and staff very friendly.
Overall, I think the owners/managers have done an admirable job coping with the past 16 months of uncertainty and stress. We're glad Overleaf is still just as we hoped to return to. We'll be back, and friends have already booked a house here.
Good job, folks.

Thank you for your amazingly thorough and thoughtful review!!! The information you laid out may very well be helpful for both new as well as returning guests who may not have visited us for awhile, due to Covid-19. Though there have been notable changes (such as breakfast being brought to your door versus our lobby buffet), we remain dedicated to providing guests with excellent guest service, exceptional rooms and views, and an overall atmosphere of relaxation and comfort. We’re sincerely grateful for your support of The Overleaf, and for your recommendations to others! And we are very appreciative of your rating and review of your recent visit. Please always feel free to ask the staff if/when you’d like more suggestions of what to do in the area, as well as local restaurants! There is always more to see and do on the central Oregon coast! Once again, thank you for your feedback, and for making The Overleaf Lodge your destination for relaxing getaways by the sea! We’ll see you again, soon.

We had a lovely room with killer views of the water. The room was large and had a king-size bed and 2 comfortable chairs for sitting in front of the fire or for looking out the big picture windows. The room itself was very clean and nothing looked worn or dated. The bed and the linens were comfortable. Breakfast was included in the price of the room and was delivered each morning at a time of your choosing. The breakfast was good and plentiful. Coffee was provided in the room along with coffee being available in the lobby. Each room had a nice-sized small refrigerator and microwave, and a small sink where you could wash items with the dish soap and towels provided. That was a very nice detail! Another great service provided was the free washer and dryer along with free soap on the third floor of the property. We didn't use the spa services. The spa tubs were only available by appointment ( due to COVID restrictions) so we didn't get a chance to do that on this trip. Other amenities were a small gym with views of the water, and areas where you could sit inside and relax with a book or with puzzles or games available in the guest library room. The walk around the property was very beautiful as was the walk along the coastline. It's a great place to stay, and we highly recommend it!

We just came back from a wonderful weekend at the Overleaf Lodge. We had a room overlooking the ocean and it was clean and spotless. The bathroom could use some updating, but even though showing it's age, it is well maintained. We also loved the small sitting are in the room as well as the mini fridge and microwave. They offer a free bag of popcorn and some drinks for the first night, which was a great touch.

The service was outstanding, with very friendly staff and we also loved the way they resolved the breakfast issue. We had travelled earlier this fall and had none/bad to mediocre breakfasts, the Lodge delivers in this aspect too. They have a "main" dish per day and offer additions you can choose from (cereals, yoghurts, juices and fruit bowls) to add to your main plate of food. They also deliver that to your room at the chosen time, what a perfect way to start the day.

They are also very covid aware and require masks in all areas of the hotel and offer hand sanitizer. I'm already thinking of coming back again in spring, this year was hard on everyone and a nice weekend with long beach walks just helps with all the stress.

Thank you for rating and reviewing your enjoyable stay at The Overleaf Lodge! The COVID-19 epidemic has certainly made day-to-day life quite different for all of us. The health and safety of our guests and staff is of the highest importance, but that doesn’t mean we want to compromise the quality of guest-experience! Therefore, we have made some changes and additions (such as complimentary popcorn and beverages at check-in, as well as a customized breakfast brought to your door at the time of your choosing) that we hope assure our valued guests of our ongoing commitment to excellent guest service, as well as our ability to adapt to the realities of change. We know how powerful of a healer the ocean is, and wholeheartedly agree that a long stroll alongside the beach is a great stress-reducer! We are proud that The Overleaf Lodge is your lodging of choice when it comes to relaxing safely and peacefully by the beautiful Pacific Ocean. Thank you again for all of your feedback! We look forward to seeing you again in the Spring!

Spent two nights at the Overleaf Lodge & Spa, this is our second visit and it was a bit disappointing. I forgot my toothbrush and every hotel I ever stayed at has items forgotten as complementary. Hotel guests be aware you are charged for a toothbrush. The room is clean and nice amount of space. Breakfast is complimentary. The spa prices are very pricey so we did partake.

The Overleaf Lodge and Spa's lobby has a fully-stocked pantry with a variety of affordable hygiene and health items, as well as snacks, soups, crackers, cheeses, frozen meals, cookies, and much more! We aim to offer all the essentials so that guests do not have to leave the coziness and calm of The Overleaf Lodge if they don't want to. The toothbrush kits - which cost $2.00 - come with a toothbrush, mini toothpaste, protective toothbrush cap, and resealable case...a very handy (and TSA compliant) kit for future travels near and far. We're very glad you enjoyed your clean and spacious room, and hope that you also enjoyed our unique, hearty, and tediously prepared guest breakfast buffet.

Far too long since we have stayed here. With the COVID-19 restrictions, they are doing a fantastic job. The breakfast is still included, but it has to be delivered to your room. You are given daily sheets upon check-in to make your choices of food and beverage, and a half hour delivery window. There was a different daily hot item on offer which we found to be very good. The delivery was always cheerful and on time.

We felt very comfortable with their safety protocols, and you can really social distance on the Oregon Coast. The room has Aveda shampoo/conditioner and body lotion. The room was spotless and the beds very comfortable. Since there is no housekeeping service during your stay, when you need something such as new towels, soap, or any amenities, just ask and it is delivered promptly. The only thing I would like to change is to have a larger shower head. But that doesn’t deserve taking a star off for.

The Overleaf Lodge & Spa is a beautiful property overlooking the ocean. I would love to go back after the COVID restrictions have been lifted so we can take advantage of some of the property amenities like the pool. Even with the COVID restrictions, there are lots of things to enjoy. We booked a one night stay. Once there, we wish we could have stayed longer!

Service is amazing. Check in was pleasant and efficient. They took care of the luggage and allowed us to park the handicap van close so we could access it easily. They recommended delivery options for dinner since we didn’t want to sit in a restaurant. The room was spacious and clean. We had a sliding door leading out to the gardens and the bluff top walkways. It was so relaxing and beautiful. The hotel has DVDs available for guests. We were able to watch the movie of our choice in the evening. Breakfast was delivered to our door. The room has a min-fridge and microwave. There is a large closet by the door.

Can't say enough about the Overleaf. The staff are welcoming and helpful. The whalewatcher rooms are amazing and we were surprised at how many whales we saw, The room was exceptionally clean and having breakfast brought to our room was very good. Even the small coffee maker made wonderful coffee.
We really enjoyed the walking trail and loved the beautiful landscaping around the property. Thank you for this restful getaway and we will diffently be back soon.

Spent two nights at the Overleaf Lodge and Spa in a second floor balcony room. First and foremost, the dramatic view of the coast is spectacular from each and every room. Every room's entry is on the east and the west side has either a large picture window, or a private balcony. When first entering, the room was a bit stuffy, from being closed but was just fine after cracking open the sliding door to the ocean air. Service at registration was superior. Every employee we interacted with was pleasant, cheerful and helpful. The common areas were well maintained and attractive. The morning breakfast buffet was of high quality, plentiful and tasty.
I found the spa to be of the highest quality, clean and the attendant continually on station.
If I ever have the opportunity to visit again, it will be for a week instead of for a couple of days

The location and view of the hotel is lovely, but there are several other properties right next door that have the same view, but not as pretentious, much less costly and much better customer service.

The "gourmet" breakfast consisted of reheated eggs, brought to the room cold. Orange juice was store bought from concentrate and fruit was canned. In all, more like hospital food. Room charge was higher than quoted, beware. Management cutting costs while trying to maintain an upscale attitude.

We’re happy to know that this guest enjoyed the view and the location. And we’d love for the reader of this review to know that our staff works really hard to make a hearty and filling breakfast, which includes several items made from scratch. We try to get to all of the guests while it’s still piping hot. Prior to Covid, we had a fresh buffet-style spread where it was easier to keep food warm. Please note: there is a microwave in your room. We’d also like guests to know that if you choose to upgrade your room, it’s going to cost more. We never hide costs. At any point during your stay, you can see a printout or be sent an email to see the breakdown of your visit. Our staff would be happy to help you understand it, if needed. If something looks amiss to you, please let us know right away! We appreciate the opportunity to make your Overleaf visit even more relaxing and enjoyable. We stand by our ongoing commitment to transparency and honesty, excellent guest service, clean and cozy rooms with stunning views, and a welcoming and spa-like atmosphere.

Where do I even start? So we normally stick to a budget and this was just slightly over our normal nightly vacation lodging budget; but I would do it 100 times over and over again. You get your money's worth and then much much more!!!! Let's start with customer service. We had wanted to do this trip and I must have called them 30 times with questions, as things kept changing with our schedule on our end. Not one time were they not kind to us. They spent many times on the phone with us, taking other calls in between, and coming back to answer my million questions. On arrival they gave us a welcome gift and a menu for breakfast. You get made to order breakfast delivered to your room to enjoy on your balcony. Can it get any better than that?! And the food was delicious!!! So many choices I had trouble eating it all. The room was spectacular. Amazing very large balcony rooms overlooking the ocean and crashing waves. You can't get a better view than this on the Oregon coastline. The rooms were clean, large, and had everything you could think of that you needed. Even a dining area to sit and eat at. The entire room overlooking the ocean was glass so you had complete unobstructed views of the ocean. Many nights we enjoyed hearing the crashing waves. So peaceful and just beautiful. Right outside there are gorgeous flowers and the 804 walking trail; it's GORGEOUS!!! Want a picnic, well they've got you covered with their variety of baskets to purchase. My favorite was the local fresh ground Oregon coffee served in our room, so delicious. They offer so much at this resort from massages, to spa treatments, wine selections, fresh caught seafood to purchase, and a gift shop. There was not ONE thing that I could say that I did not enjoy.

Hello, and thank you for your question! Our tranquil spa is for guests 18 and older. However, there are rooms available for booking at The Overleaf Lodge with spa tubs in them, so perhaps that would be the best option for you and your children. I hope that's helpful!
