The Kimpton River Place is a very nice hotel. But the main reason I stayed there...it has the most secure parking I could find! That may seem like an odd feature, but in Portland these days it is not. The city is overun with crime. All the metro hotels with normal parking lots are having awful car burglaries, catalytic converter thefts, drilled gas tanks, and outright car theft. But the Kimpton RiverPlace has underground parking secured with a full roll up door. And it's valet parking, only employees are allowed into the garage. And my RAM 3500 4 door long bed pickup was no problem for the valet. The fact that is an outstandingly nice hotel was the bonus for me.

Hotel's Favourite
As with most kimptons, it is very nice. Helpful staff, great room and a nice view. Very cool location. A bit pricey, but I can see why. It is right on the river, so it is a great place for a walk. I’m glad to see places like this back after Covid. We will stay again

Great service, location, and staff. James at the front desk made us feel welcome from checkin to checkout. He was knowledgeable and courteous. Also really enjoyed the complimentary bikes, morning coffee, and daily social hour. Will stay here again when visiting Portland!

The hotel is located at the end of a side street that opens up to immediate pedestrian access to pathways and sidewalks (take your pick). It's an open quiet out waterfront parks that can lead you up to the city or go north along the broad open walkway where there are a variety of shops, cafes and additional scenery, river views. An unexpected bonus was coming across the beautiful dragon boats while walking the various docks. Anytime for any occasion this is my #1 choice. The staff were accessible, rooms immaculate. Service above and beyond. I saw no extra chages!! Thank You!!

The whole staff (and in particular Alex) was welcoming and professional. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. The restaurant was phenomenal. I had stayed only one night but I could have used another one for sure.
