Upon arriving I was greeted with the warmest of welcomes by Sarah, the lovely hostess at reception, she was very kind and informative, even took the extra time to get me signed up for the rewards program within no time had me checked into a great room with a very comfortable king size bed. I will say I have stayed here in the past and always had a wonderful visit. The showers are extremely hot with good pressure. The breakfast downstairs is always fresh and plentiful., if you’re able to request a room with a lake view, it is very serene to just sit and enjoy the view. This hotel is a prime location for those that need to get airport access early in the morning. I’ll even add they have a wonderful 24 hour shuttle. You simply sign up for it at the front desk.

The PDX Radisson was a perfect place to stay when meeting our family at PDX or dropping them off after our vacation. The property was clean and well kept. Sarah at the front desk was friendly, helpful and full of energy. She helped get my family in the rooms as quickly as possible. She also helped with sightseeing suggestions. Lauren the hostess in the restaurant was juggling quite the workload but was able to keep things organized and people satisfied. This was during the worldwide software issue that disrupted travel so people were tired and frustrated.

Lauren and Sarah —- Thanks

It’s a classic pros and cons review, folks, with one con so disturbing that it tipped me over the edge.

Pros: 1) Safe, gated parking for longer terms stays and reasonable prices for park and fly packages.

2) Frequent, dependable shuttle pickups… with a fleet of four and only one hotel involved, so waiting for airport pickup isn’t a long, worrying experience.

3) Servicable restaurant attached for breakfast/dinner with pretty lakeside views and adequate food, though woefully overpriced!

4) A select number of impeccably professional staff, including the can-do, cheerful star of the Front Desk, Sarah, Olga, also Front Desk and the charming Jacoby in the restaurant.

Cons: 1) Guest rooms are pretty grim with a 70s era Quality Inn vibe, featuring your grandma’s curtained, hand-held shower head shower, prison quality towels, 70s dorm-style chipped, cheap wood furnishings and 90s era plug ins for devices.

2) Here’s my tipping point — the Asian investment group that owns this hotel — along with thousands of chain hotel franchises worldwide — has pulled CNN, PBS and MSNBC from its TV lineup. Fox News remains.

That tells me that people like me are not wanted at the Radisson PDX. Well, I’ve taken the hint and will look elsewhere to stay during my next of many frequent visits to PDX.

We stay here as during the pandemic it was the only airport hotel supporting transfers for early AM PDX departures and they are Pet friendly ($25 extra cleaning fee). Plus there was ample parking available. Airport buses run every 30-minutes. We also enjoyed the Lakeside dining room for dinner. Had a full bar and the food was very good. Stayed in a King Suite with our dog, so plenty of room for all of us.

We used the hotel's Park and Fly program a few years ago and returned this year while doing a 3-week camper van trip. Having the controlled/monitored parking lot was key since we had our bikes on the van and security was important while we visited downtown Portland. We had a room with a nice view of the lake. Staff was friendly and helpful. The onsite restaurant has a modest menu with reasonable prices and outdoor seating available lakeside.

Room Tip: Request a lakeside room if you want a view. This is near the airport so expect airplane noise.

This is always our hotel of choice when headed to Portland. The people are very friendly and accommodating and the room is always just right! The beds are so comfortable and there is very little noise, minus the few flights that are taking off, but it's an airport hotel so you should expect to hear that!

The check-in process is quick, efficient and they take extra care with the Covid-19 protocol in sanitizing all of the common areas and the rooms as well.

Since dining options in the area are in a holding pattern, the rooms have both a microwave and refrigerator. The restaurant is not open for dining but they do have take out and room service available.

Highly recommend this property for a quick getaway and it is always my go to when we are flying out and need a place to stay and leave our car. Radisson never disappoints!

People here are sociable, helpful, and competent. Shuttle service and drivers are great. But the place is overpriced. If someone is making a killing, it should be the staff. I paid a reduced Radisson member room fee that totaled close to $200 with all the surcharges. That does not include any breakfast. The room we had was remodeled and refurbished. It has imitation wood floor with no carpets. Good or bad depending on your tastes. We liked it spare and comparatively dust free like that. However the wash basin is located in the room outside the toilet/shower room. Fine for one guest. Not for two keeping different hours. All in all there is no reason to book here apart from it being near the airport and having 24 hour shuttle service.

So I show up on what I thought was my reserved day of check-in only to find out that I booked it for the wrong month. Not only did Avery assure me all would be OK, she also re-booked me at the same discounted rate that I received when I booked it months in advance. Kudos to Avery and the management team for understanding that we all are human and sometimes blow it!

Stayed at this property due to its location The exterior of the hotel and the lobby seemed to be recently updated. Check in was quick and efficient. The staff was friendly. The rooms are seriously outdated and the HVAC system is NOISY. The mattresses are lumpy and uncomfortable. Bathrooms very very outdated. Felt a little uncomfortable. It was clean but had that bed bug feeling. They provide two bottles of water in the room for free and a coffee machine as well as a refrigerator. Towels were very soft, tho scarce Would have been nice to have a true shower rather than to have to stand in a 1970’s bathtub. There are better options in the area

Do you need to be vaccinated to stay in this hotel?
Answer from Ron S
Fort Collins, Colorado140 contributions111 helpful votes
At the time I was there it was not an issue. It has been several months since I have been there and I don't know. Your best bet is to call them and ask. I know this is not the definitive answer you were expecting but things change with Covid-19 so fast and so do the requirements. My best advice is to stay somewhere else. I did not like my experience at this hotel.
