the classic style of every inch of this hotel set a great mood for our entire stay. The rooms while cozy were designed with mood and comfort in mind, and we're memorable with a great view of Mt Hood to the east. The curated art was perfect as was the unbelievable lobby/restaurant/cafe area. we spent hours lounging and reading there. The best part though was the staff. They went above and beyond at every step of our stay, which certainly offset any covid limitations. Thanks to Sarah, Elli, and Vannoy for making our stay amazing. The recommendations, accoutrements, and all around friendly and helpful interactions were worth the stay at The Hoxton. Thanks again, Greg & Rachel

My husband and I spent 3 nights at this hotel during our honeymoon and had a wonderful stay. Van checked us in at reception and offered lots of tips on places to go in the city and made us feel so welcomed. The room was very well designed, we loved having the bluetooth speaker with the radio on when we came it, it was a nice touch. Also, the Hoxton staff left us a gift of some wine for our honeymoon and a lovely note which made us feel extra special. The hotel is in a great location for sight-seeing and access to downtown. Walking distance to Powell's, Voodoo Donuts, the Chinese Gardens, and more! We will definitely be staying at the Hoxton next time we are in Portland!

My BFF and I were going crazy from the pandemic and decided to book a girls trip. She lives in Austin and I live in Orange County. We both agreed to meet somewhere we’ve never been before that is nothing at all like where we currently live. We settled on Portland and I managed to find this cute little boutique hotel for us to stay at: The Hoxton. Not only did everything go smoothly, it was seriously one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The staff was incredibly hospitable and friendly, quick to provide recommendations on everything from sites, to restaurants to coffee and everything in-between. Van, at the hotel desk, always remembered us and often checked in with us to see how our trip was going. A few things to note: this is a boutique hotel so the rooms are on the smaller side. If you see a room called a shoe box it’s literally like a twin bed and a cozy room is just that. It’s cramped for two people who aren’t intimate, so go ahead and book the larger room with two beds. Also, the hotel is decorated and designed beautifully in a somewhat modern style but it’s still very warm and inviting. You will not get a top sheet on your beds (unless requested) and if you need extra blankets they will just give you more sheets. Rooms come with a mini fridge, lots of closet space and cable TV. If you want to watch Netflix or something you’ll need an adaptor or a tablet. The location could not be more perfect. It’s within walking distance to so many places and the public transportation system is also very good.

Thank you so much - this is an incredible review and it brought me so much joy to read. I'm so happy that we were able to offer a warm, welcoming reprieve after such a difficult year. Our team is dedicated to providing outstanding service and Vann is always top notch - thank you for recognizing his hard work! I apologize that we did not bring you another blanket - there must have been a miscommunication from the desk to our housekeeping team. We totally have extra blankets that we would have been happy to bring to you! Next time :) Stay tuned - we are working on a solution to our TV selection. Netflix and such may be in our near future! I love that our location met your needs - there is so much to see and do here! Great food, shopping and sight seeing within walking distance - I hope you took full advantage of it all. Thank you for your kind words. We hope to see you both again soon! Best, Elli Blakeman Director of Rooms

We visited Portland to see a show and chose the Hoxton because it was very reasonably priced and right by the venue. We were greeted by Van at reception, who was beyond kind and helpful. He had all the best tips and tricks for staying in that area. He even upgraded us to a bigger room for a VERY fair price. Let me tell you, that room was beautiful and clean! We felt luxurious without breaking the bank. We were in and out most of the night since the hotel is so conveniently located, that we could pop in to grab what we needed, then move on to our next activity. Every time we came back, we were greeted by a very friendly security gaurd named Zach. He knew the best places to eat and even offered to set us up in the lobby where they would serve us drinks while we ate our food. I highly recommend The Hoxton and we will definitely be back!

From the time I checked in to the time I checked out, my experience here was fantastic. The lobby was warm and clean and inviting. The staff were friendly and helpful. The coffee shop has great coffee. The restaurant was closed during my stay so I didn’t get to try it. The room was well-furnished and the bed was very soft and comfy. I have a bad back and I’m a side sleeper so beds are very hit or miss for me, but I slept like a baby. Also, the front desk sells a variety of beers and ciders for those rainy nights in. This place hits all the right notes for me. The only thing that was a little weird was there was no clock in the room? And the in-room fridge is a little small, so I had to get creative stuffing my Star Pizza leftovers in there. Also: if you like chow fun, the little Chinese place across from the front entrance is killer!

Thanks so much for hanging out with us and sharing this awesome feedback! I'm thrilled to hear that our team went above on beyond - service is our main priority and it's always so rewarding to hear that we've met the mark. I love that you had a great sleep, too! Our beds are truly my favorite. To shed some light on your note about the clocks - our vintage radios should have tell the time and if you need a wake up call, just let the front desk know. We're here 24/7 to help out. We can't wait to welcome you back again soon! Elli Blakeman Director of Rooms
