This is an off the radar hotel that did not disappoint. It is not your typical business hotel but the staff was A+ and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay of 4 nights. We could walk to just about everything and when we had a little trouble with Uber/Lyft cancelling on us, the staff was quick to help arrange cabs for us. The unlimited bottles of cold water and cookies were a great treat. The bathroom has been updated, but it is is a little on the small side - so great on the style, but tiny. All in all, a thumbs up!
If @staypineapple is available as a choice in whichever city I am visiting, I will be there. It is all of the personal touches that make this hotel so great. I had stayed twice in Portland, Oregon, and was pleasantly surprised to find this note and chocolate bar in my room when I arrived (see picture). I had requested extra pillows upon arrival, and was very pleasantly surprised to see that they were actually on the bed when I got there at almost midnight. I have stayed in numerous hotels, I always request extra pillows, and I don’t think they have ever once actually been there upon arrival, I have always had to call. For me it’s the little things.
My husband and I stayed here for 4 days for our anniversary trip. From check in to check out this hotel was spot on. They offered sweet pineapple cookies at check and were so kind to bring up a complimentary bottle of champagne and 4 boxed chocolate truffles. The bed and pillows were so comfortable. Everything in the room of course was themed pineapple, even the phone charger. The first night we dined at the their hotel restaurant; Kitchen & Bottle. Highly recommend their tacos. Even their bartender was awesome with great conversation. The hotel is right on the river front with lots of places to eat and close walking distance to shopping. Would definitely come back and stay there again.
I had a great stay! I love all the puppy amenities! Cat was very accommodating, she also helped my husband and I find some really cool restaurants. We will definitely be back to stay again. Thank you Hotel Rose!
Once again we enjoyed the Hotel Rose on our May long weekend getaway to Portland. We've stayed here before and really like the location near the waterfront and Saturday market. We used the hotel bikes and went across the bridges and paths on both sides of the river. We love the Saturday market, shopping, and food trucks all nearby. Perks in the hotel include free welcome drink, cookies, Keurig machine and fridge in room, bottled water daily, good wifi & streaming, free use of the bikes. We didn't eat in the hotel because we came for the food trucks & breweries, but they do offer a breakfast and dinner menu, not expensive. We also found Luc Lac Vietnamese restaurant within 1 block which was excellent. Overall Portland has some pockets of despair and disrepair not unlike any city but we really enjoy it and will likely Stay Pineapple again. For anyone going on Memorial weekend they are located across from the fair and rose festival celebrations on the waterfront. Should be fun.…
Fantastic hotel in a great central location. There were some homeless around the area but that is all of downtown Portland. Walking distance to everything. Our wifi unfortunately did not work well and we were immediately returned our resort fee. Free water, coffee, cookies, some drinks and a good parking garage made this an awesome stay. Clean rooms and awesome pineapple theme. We absolutely would recommend this and would stay here again.
We brought our little dog and she was treated like a queen when we received the pet package. Seeing her name in the entryway always made me smile! The front desk staff was always amazing and Jacob was extremely helpful and polite and went above & beyond to make sure our stay was perfect! We can't wait to stay again in the softest beds ever, like clouds. Thank you Hotel Rose!
The hotel staff was very good and the location was excellent, however, the building is extremely old. The photos do not look like the actual rooms at all. The vents in the bathrooms does not work, room window would need to be opened to air out the steam. There are no room air conditioning controls. The entire building is controlled regardless and the best that can be done is to close or open the vent. One night it was 82 degrees and nothing can be done. They only clean every other day and several times they missed the cleaning. We were there for 12 days and only had 4 cleanings.
Had a great stay with my son. Very close to everything (walking distance too) I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel. Unfortunately, for this hotel, the homeless have set up camp around the sidewalks nearby. If this was disclosed at time of booking, we would have opted out of the balcony room with overlooked the camp.
This was our second visit to the Staypineapple Hotel Rose. Both times we have found the staff at the desk and in the bar to be super friendly and helpful. We had a lovely view of the water and the room was so inviting with the wonderful comforters and cozy robes provided. We just had drinks and appetizers in the bar this time but they were delicious. The cookies were a yummy addition!
