Azalea Lodge is exactly what you'd expect: a typical motor lodge of the golden era of road travel. That being said, it fit our needs while staying in Gold Beach. Yes, it's a little older but we'll kept. Yes, it is no-frills but again, that is typical of old motor lodges. It was clean and cozy. The bathroom appears to be recently refurbished and is a lot more modern. The furniture is definitely dated from the 1990s but still functional. The bed wasn't comfortable and could've used more and better pillows. Thank God for the in-room Keurig. The check-in process for us was not the best but once everything was figured out we were all good. Overall, this place was good. It has its charms.

Top notch little roadside motel. Soper clean. Exceeded my wife's OCD cleanliness threshold. Basic, but decent sized, well laid out, and quiet in the back where we were. We've tried a few places in the area in prior trips. Been disappointed. Not this time. Will stay here again.

This is my 5th stay at the Azalea Lodge - the 3rd since it has been under new management.

Each visit has been better than the last. The Azalea is family-owned and family-operated. You may overlook the motel at first in favor of the more glitzy, larger motels on Hwy. 101, but you'll be sorry if you do.

The rooms are quiet and very attractive in appearance. They are kept spotless - absolutely & positively clean. There is no smoking in the rooms and no pets, so there is no odor when you open the door. I have asthma and allergies, but have never had any problems staying in these rooms. Also, the beds are very comfortable.
Each room has a small refrigerator and some have microwaves.
Each room has its own parking space, so room access is just a matter of a few feet in distance.
The housekeeping service is excellent. Ask for it and they will get it for you, if possible.

A very nice continental breakfast is served for 3 hours every morning with fresh coffee always on hand.
Internet access and WiFi has also been added.
The rates are reasonable.

What has endeared me the most to the Azalea is the new owners. During my last visit here, I was invloved in a car accident and suffered minor injuries. It extended my stay at the motel. The concern and care given to me by these people was unbelievable. I was 2,000 miles from home and alone. They were great.
They do care about the comfort of their guests.

If you are traveling the coast and need a clean, comfortable room, give the Azalea Lodge a try. You won't be disappointed.

We found ourselves looking for accommodation late in the evening as we came into Gold Beach.

From the outset, I should say that it was never our intention to stop in a motel, preferring a hotel. We had visited 5 other motels in Gold Beach before coming to the Azalea and were somewhat shocked by the poor standard of those 5. They were grubby/dirty a few smelt of animals and there was no way we would have stopped in any of them. We were getting somewhat desperate when we came upon the Azalea Lodge and not holding out much hope.

Upon checking the rooms, we were pleasantly surprised. Albeit basic, they were all clean and tidy. We were warmly welcomed by the manager. They were all non smoking rooms

The beds were comfy without any luxury.

Breakfast consisted of fruit and pastries with hot tea and coffee but again very passable.

Forego all of the other grimy, smelly motels in Gold Beach staff by unenthusiastic staff and pull in to the Azalea Lodge and you can't go far wrong!

Sparkly clean room. Cute and cozy. Staff very friendly. Don't let the price fool you, it's worth it!
Stayed in the back rooms away from the traffic noise because we are light sleepers. I don't think the road noise would be a problem in the front rooms now that I have been there. Will definitely stay again when we are back this way.

I am American, but I live in Italy. I brought my Italian son to America for a car trip up the West Coast in July. This was the nicest place we stayed in, and the ladies who run the place were the nicest people we met in America. The room was clean as could be, modern, the TV stations were unlimited, and the wifi was strong and fast. But most of all, these ladies were so very helpful and sincere. I hope to be back in America in November, and honestly, I will make a point of coming to Golden Beach just to visit them again. The breakfast was great. Of all the places we stayed in, this was number one.

This modest hotel is excellent value for money. The room was very clean (a high priority with us) and had a very comfortable bed. The owner was just lovely and very helpful. We could not recommend this place more highly.

This lodge is immaculate. The rooms have everything you need to be very comfortable. The continental breakfast is complete and the service is friendly. As a couple and 1 teenage boy, we had plenty of room to move around and the beds were like new. We will definitely be staying there again. Highly recommended.

This small, family-owned motel was clean, comfortable, and friendly. We stayed in a two-room family unit. The rooms were large, but the motel offered low prices. There was a small continental breakfast.

I was there with my son, we are from Italy. I was just looking for a place to sleep after a long drive up the coast. Man, did we ever hit the jackpot. I know five-star hotels globally from my work. We were treated like VIP's at this place. It's just a motel, but I will never forget the kindness that we experienced. We had to move on, but frankly, I wanted to spend the rest of our vacation there. In retrospect, I am sorry we didn't.
