The Salishan Coastal Lodge by SCP Hotels garners praise for its excellent service and top-notch amenities, including a well-regarded spa, picturesque golf course, and the allure of easy beach access. Its cozy fireplaces and array of engaging activities contribute to the lodge's relaxing atmosphere, despite some rooms feeling a touch outdated. While the spacious and comfortable rooms are a hit, the need for renovations is a point of contention.
The scenic location's tranquility is occasionally marred by noise and accessibility issues. Cleanliness is consistently celebrated, yet opinions on the lodge's value for money are divided.

We stayed at Salishan Coastal Lodge in mid June and had a most wonderful visit. The continuing improvements to the facilities have come along very well since our last visit in October.
The amazing staff led by Matthew Grigg, Nickie Willett and Kenny Boyle were on top of their game! Although we were in the midst of the limited re-opening up of businesses during the Covid-19 pandemic, the staff made our stay so very enjoyable. Along with all the staff wearing masks, tables were well spaced, hand sanitation stations were plentiful and they were strictly following all safety guidelines. We felt safe and comfortable all of the time.
The beautiful 18 hole golf course, the aerial adventure park and the private beach along with the Beachcrest brewery and other shops in the resort property were all open and ready to make our visit extra special. I can't express enough how relaxing and enjoyable our stay was while at Salishan Coastal Lodge.
If you are looking for an awesome Oregon coast getaway either with your spouse or your family, you can't go wrong with a visit to Salishan Coastal lodge. Big rooms, great views of the water and forest, amazing amenities, great shops and excellent service are what you can expect. Can't wait to go back soon!

Excellent stay. Special thanks to Lauren Warwick for her efforts in setting up a special room with special decorations for the surprise proposal I had planned. Karen at the front desk was also great in “delaying” our check-in to make sure the room decorations were set before giving us the keys. Wonderful setting. Plan ahead for the spa, it was booked during our stay. We will be back again!

We requested two rooms near each other (mother coming to help with kids) and they gave us adjoining rooms, both with bay views. It was the perfect set-up. Our arrival was great. Karen was very friendly and informative at the front desk. There were plenty of food/beverage options on site - although the prices of some things were a bit exorbitant (6 packs of beer in the store). Overall, everything was great.

I had never stayed at Salishan before. I was really looking forward to it. I was disappointed at how far away the beach actually is. It was a bit of a hike to get to the ocean. It's nice that they promote their private beach, but not how far the drive and walk is. When I checked in on Friday Karen was friendly, but didn't do a complete job. I wasn't told that in order to access the swimming pool and spa I had to make a reservation! That would have been very helpful to know. I didn't learn about the pool restrictions until I called on Saturday afternoon to find out the pool hours of operation. At that point it was too late as all of the time slots were taken. I was told that frequently people with reservations were a no show and I could call back at 7 for the last time slot of the day. The pool apparently closes at 8:30 pm. Most resorts don't typically close their pool until 10 or 11 so it was additionally frustrating to learn that Salishan closed their pool so early. I did call back at 7 in hopes of getting in if someone was a no show. No luck. I was told that there wouldn't be cleaning services over the weekend and that if we wanted more towels we could simply call the front desk. The only problem with no cleaning service for 2 days is that the trash doesn't get taken out. The 2 trash cans in the room were very small and were overflowing by Saturday night. My suggestion to the management is to put in larger, or more, trash cans. I'm sure in its heyday Salishan was more impressive. It's starting to show its age now. The shower curtain rod was chipped and rusting, the air grate in the bathroom had something yellow and nasty looking on it, the visibility of bare PVC pipes under the bathroom sink simply made me think "cheap". And the toilet was super short! Like something you'd find in an elementary school bathroom! The King Room was nice enough and the fireplace was beautiful. But overall, if you're going to Salishan for the ocean try someplace else. If you're going for the golfing you may find it acceptable.

We just returned from a weekend at Salishan and mostly had a great time. We've been to the hotel on several occasions and each time I'm just enamored with the grounds; it's super secluded and lush and well maintained. Due to COVID, the pool and spa were closed and dining options were super limited unfortunately. I'd really like to see some room upgrades in the future. They're starting to look a little dated and rundown and they do tend to smell a bit when you first walk in, so I always bring a candle.
Again, in the time of COVID, they're not offering housekeeping during your stay. It was a bit tough as there were no wine glasses in the room so we had to use two of the four paper coffee cups offered for wine, then eventually ran out of paper coffee cups. Went to the front desk and they only had some plastic cups, which they told my husband would work for hot drinks but were labeled on the bottom as "cold drinks only." I feel like they could do a better job of anticipating these needs as we're relegated mainly to our rooms for eating and drinking now. We opted to go to the main lodge for coffee on the last day, which is overpriced ($6 for a not-so-great Americano).
The new decks they added are awesome and I continue to love the fire pits, though it felt as if some of the other guests weren't as in to social distancing as they should have been right now. They added some BMX bike thing, which is kind of weird and a staff member told us they were turning the tennis courts into laser tag? Hoping that's not happening. The complimentary bikes were a nice touch, however.

I used a Travelzoo voucher for my stay, otherwise it would 100% not be worth it. It's priced like a fancy resort, but the rooms are mediocre and not worth the $300+/night. They also charge $30+ per day fee for things like coffee in your room which is usually included in hotel rooms. The room is fine (I'm in the "Deluxe"), but the bathroom is disappointing and gross. It looks like they don't clean between guests because I found hairs. The shower curtain is moldy. They don't provide individual soap/shampoo, but instead there are bottles attached to the wall. That's always nasty, but during COVID that's unacceptable. One bottle is empty. There is no water pressure in the shower and the drain doesn't work. The toilet is very low as well. Salishan offers "adventures." They have access to a private beach, which I enjoyed. It's across the highway, so it's a drive or a long walk. There is an activity called "Salishan Seekers." Supposedly there are glass floats hidden around. They say you get to keep it if you find one. I looked for hours and never found anything. The reviews that mentioned these glass floats also mentioned kids and how staff "helped" them, so I think the staff only hides floats when they know a kid is looking. It's disappointing. It seemed like a fun activity and I wanted a souvenir. This property is a long way from any towns. It's 20-25 min, so prepare for quite a drive if you want other food. Overall I wouldn't recommend Salishan unless you REALLY like golf.

This was our first time stay and we would absolutely return! Everything from the room to the food to the staff exceeded our expectations. It was raining so we didn’t get to experience all the activities available but did take the Nature Trail down to the beach. We were the only ones in sight! Curtis made the check in process a breeze & provided the best info! Due to COVID housekeeping doesn’t come into the room but will bring towels/take trash etc as requested - which was totally fine with us. The gas fireplace made our room so cozy and we were plenty warm with the option to open our patio door for some fresh air. Next trip we plan we are aiming for some dry weather so we can take full advantage of all the activities! Can’t wait!

I received a gift for a night away and chose Salishan because we have a 16 week puppy that we wanted to be able to bring. We only stayed one night but had a relaxing and perfectly lazy stay. A huge storm rolled in that afternoon and I loved being curled up in our cabin-like room, fireplace on, watching movies and listening to the wind howling!
The bed was super comfy with luxurious pillows. Always a huge plus for me. They also had 3 chairs and a cushioned bench in the room so lots of nice seating options.
We really took advantage of the COVID-cation and spoiled ourselves with room service for breakfast, lunch and dinner! I was SO impressed by the quality of their food considering 1.) it wasn’t even coming from their fine dining restaurant and 2.) it always came beautifully prepared despite being delivered. I ordered a medium-rare steak for dinner and it was truly medium rare. That can be hard to get even in a restaurant! My husband had the salmon sandwich for lunch and gave it rave reviews. The dinner salmon filet was also a hearty portion of perfectly prepared salmon with delicious veggies and rice. And their rosemary fries... so delish!
I visited the little shop they have and looked around. Great place for local treats. I bought a bottle of wine and she was nice enough to give me plastic cups to bring back to the room (something to note is that the rooms do not have glassware so bring cups if you plan to enjoy some wine by your fireplace or balcony!). As others have mentioned, the wine prices are pretty inflated but that’s just how it is purchasing at any resort or hotel. You pay for the convenience. If you want to avoid this, BYOB!
The room had floor to ceiling window which is always nice, and a great balcony with quality rocking chairs! Such a nice touch! We didn’t get to enjoy them given the weather but we will definitely be back!!

This is a great place to stay! The rooms are so clean and comfortable. They have covered walk paths all over to make it easy to navigate around even on a rainy November day. This was a perfect location for our family trip. We were close enough to the Aquarium, Tilamook, Canon Beach, Sea Lion Caves, etc but felt cozy and secluded at the wooded lodge. We especially loved their helpful staff, large indoor pool and awesome food!

Our family road tripped along the Oregon coast and we found this gem of a place online. Since we were moving along the coast we only stayed one night but definitely had regrets of not staying longer. Upon arrival we drove on to the property and we were amazed by the beauty of this place. The gentleman at the front desk was very kind and took the time to explain all the amenities, restaurants, activities the hotel had to offer. Amazing service through out the entire hotel. We were here during the pandemic but the hotel did an adequate job at keeping everything safe and clean throughout the hotel. We stayed in King Premier view Room it had a king size bed and a comfortable queen pullout couch for the girls The room was clean and the views were amazing they could use a bit of updating in the rooms but we didn’t mind and enjoyed our stay. We sat on the porch in rocking chairs and enjoyed watching the wildlife eat wild berries. We walked the ground of the hotel and were stunned by the incredible views all around this gorgeous place we ordered pizza (which was delicious) and some signature cocktails (which were even better) and sat on the back patio over looking the golf course next to the fire pits. RELAXED is what we felt! They have free bike rentals and you could pay to rent some mountain bikes as they just recently put in a pump track which looked really cool. One of our favorite things we did was drive over to the private beach which is for guests and residents the beach was completely empty we had a great time taking pictures and collecting diftwood and shells. Overall our family enjoyed our stay here and we will definitely return and recommend this place to family and friends.

Hello Matthew,
Yes the Beach is walking distance from the lodge! One of our many nature trails on property leads you directly to the beach. Just ask the Front Desk when you arrive. Looking forward to welcoming you.
When we stayed in January, our room had a tub/shower combination. I'm not sure whether all rooms are the same or not, but at least some of them will have a tub.
