The hotel and amenities were lovely. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room, linens, etc were perfect. The wifi was fast. The only bad part was something the hotel had no control over...street noise into the early hours of the morning. You could hear pedestrians yelling at each other until after bar hours and motorcycles were heard racing in the streets until 3am. The city should really help downtown hotels by patrolling and shutting down the noisemakers. This noise problem would probably be the experience at any downtown hotel nearby. I am not exaggerating when I say sleeping in Manhattan was quieter and more peaceful!

This is a really unique hotel. Like stepping back in time, but with all the modern conveniences. Great location. Great service. Nice over sized room with comfortable bed, TV and shower. In room Keurig and fridge. Staff were super friendly and nice. Fitness center older but has enough to get a good workout. I typically stay at chain hotels for the points - so glad I didn’t this time as this is a real nice change from the usual cookie cutter hotels. Loved it.

I stay here every time I am in town. They are the premiere place in town. A lot of new hotels have tried to open and compete, but none come close. Dennis and his staff are second to none. The roof top car and restaurant is a must as well.

I was extremely pleased with our stay. The staff are all friendly with great customer service. We appreciate and enjoyed the luxury of valet and concierge service. The room was incredible! I especially loved how spacious it was and that it has more of an apartment feel rather than a hotel room. The room extremely clean, absolutely a great experience! I have only one complaint; we tried to shower before going to dinner, the shower did not drain and the water never got hot. We called the desk and they sent someone from maintenance to look at the shower temp and drain issue. The shower drained, but the water was freezing even after the maintenance worker said he adjusted the temp. I understand the building is old, but I still feel there should be hot water available especially for the price of the rooms. Definitely must check out the penthouse rooftop bar, the “M” floor, and the 9th floor for the pics of celebrities that have stayed at the Mayo.

The Mayo Hotel is a historic building in the city we actually live in. We have been here multiple times for attending different events, but we’re thankful to be given the opportunity recently for not one, but two couple staycations this month. PROS: Cleanliness of the rooms and common areas is beautiful, history and charm of the entire facility is fascinating, restaurant may be closed to due Covid, but rooftop bar and the Market still elevate the food and beverage experience, the large suite rooms are amazing, location is nice being downtown, valet and the rest of the staff are great, and so on and so on. More Specific Pros: we love Josh in The Market, we love the chocolate treats and robes found in the rooms, the suites with no windows in bedroom are the best because they get PITCH BLACK, and lastly, we love anytime we get to meet a resident living at The Mayo. CONS, but not really: I call this a celebration Hotel. A lot of parties staying in large groups and they may have late nights...celebrating. This does not hold us back from wanting to stay here again, just request if you want more quietness to be put in a room away from wedding/celebration groups if at all possible. Both stays this month had small issues with this, but the staff will handle for you if it gets out of hand. Note specifically about staying during COVID: this hotel is kept extremely clean in our opinion. Also, other than the elevators, we have never felt crowded amongst other guests. All staff are masked up. The only spot to be more careful would be if the rooftop bar gets busy inside, just make sure you have a mask on and then you can go distance outside if desired once you have your drink. We would and WILL stay here again. Thanks to The Mayo for always helping us relax and feel taken care of. If you book this hotel and any issues arise, just get with the Manager on duty, they will do everything they can to make sure your stay is the best.
