This is not a review of the casino. We spent 2 nights in a 19th floor 2 queen room. We were very surprised and pleased with the size, layout and furnishings. There was a bit of a delay getting a bellhop but for our entire stay that was the only glitch. Staff were very friendly. We wanted some extra towels and I was very impressed when they were delivered less than 5 minutes after I hung up the phone. Room was very quiet as well. Everything about the hotel exceeded what we’ve experienced at competitors like Winstar Choctaw. The Fireside cafe served good lunches and dinners. Didn’t try breakfast.
Before Covid we got lots of offers for complimentary rooms. We live in Texas and were getting tons of offers for free rooms at all Choctaw Casino's and Winstar Casino. So guess were we go? I called and asked and was told that it was based on my play in the last 3 months. I was there in the last 3 months and I still haven't gotten any offers. Were not going to drive further and spend more just to play. If you want our money, you have to give us a comped room. Soon Texas will vote on 5 new luxury casino resorts to be built in our state and if that passes all Oklahoma casinos are going to suffer. So we'll keep going to Choctaw and Winstar until River Sprit loosens up!
Contactless check in: Great experience. Didn’t even have to deal with the front desk at all. We loved this option. Hotel Room: hotel Room is very, very nice. Spacious and clean. Loved the couch by the windows and the seating in front of the bed. My one small complaint was the water pressure in the bathroom sink. It was literally painful to wash hands, try to brush your teeth, anything! The water pressure was way too high! Otherwise, the room is beautiful! Dining: We ate margaritaville and the steakhouse. Overall, the food was great at both places. Margaritaville could use some customer service training with a few of their host staff but our server was great. Steakhouse was delicious and a great experience. We also ate at the coffee shop daily. Their custom, made to order breakfast sandwiches were very good!! Casino: Had a great time at the casino! Walked away a winner, so I was happy. Definitely lost money fast but I was able to win it back over the long weekend. I will say their mask policy is definitely not enforced. Take that how you want. There’s definitely signs around listing the mask policy but no one is complying and definitely no one is enforcing it. Didn’t bother me either way, but someone else might? Overall, this is a beautiful property and a great casino. Would absolutely recommend and would stay again if we were in the area! …
In my opinion River Spirit is probably the best casino in the City of Tulsa. With that being said, Tribal casinos are nothing more than a sink hole for your hard earned money. With Covid, they have limited restaurants, and what is open is over priced and not that good compared to the finer restaurants around Tulsa. And we don't even have to say anything about the machines, they are a losing proposition. I mean casinos are here to take your money. Hey, but if you have more money than sense, River Spirit would be the best destination on Tulsa. They are the only casino is Tulsa that does take your temp before entering. That does say something.
There are plenty of other options in the area, places that truly care about your business as a customer. The staff at 5 O'clock Somewhere target and harass women. The security on the property are egotistical jerks who can only communicate in a threating way rather than having a rational educated conversation. If you are an adult whom relishes the position of being treated like a child through the incompetence of others, THIS IS YOUR PLACE!
