The Grange at Oborne is a luxury country house hotel with eighteen bedrooms and an award-winning restaurant overlooking the floodlit gardens. Our quiet rural setting at the edge of the village is the reason why many of our guests return year after year to enjoy the peace and tranquillity that the hotel has to offer. It is a place to unwind, relax and regenerate. Family-owned and run, The Grange prides itself on its friendly staff. The Grange won Dorset Tourism's 'Best Small Hotel' in 2017.

The Grange is a comfortable, homely and well presented country house hotel. It is almost like staying in someone's home. As it was early December the Christmas decorations were up which added to the overall ambience. A lovely stay.

Hotel's Favourite
The Grange is situated in idyllic rolling countryside, near to the lovely small town of Sherborne. The hotel itself is made of the mellow local stone, and is a delight to look at both inside and out. We had booked for Christmas and wanted to stay for one night to check out the room. Sadly it was unavailable, but we stayed in a gorgeous alternative which looked out onto its own patio. It was extremely comfortable, with everything well thought out and tastefully done. Covid had obviously left the hotel staff short handed, but despite the difficult times the service was warm and welcoming. A couple of staff had badges proclaiming them to be new, which we thought was a marvellous idea. The food was outstanding. We both adored everything about it, and the wines were delectable. In short, this hotel is superb and we are busy thinking up excuses to return. Thank you to all the staff who worked so hard to make our stay such a pleasant one.

Response from Jonathan Fletcher, Owner at The Grange at Oborne
Responded 24 Aug 2021
After the year we have had, you don't need an excuse to return! Yes, staffing has been very tricky over the last few years, and over the past eighteen months, the problems have only intensified. We are doing our best, many of us are working long hours and training the new, young members of staff. Thanks for the lovely review

Absolutley wonderful hotel, friendly and accomodating staff, extremley comfortable en suite rooms. Check in/out process really simply, bar is small but very well stocked. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty with a decent varied menu. Great job all at the Grange :)

Our room was beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable, as were the restaurant and lounge areas. The food was absolutely delicious and we were made to feel most welcome by everyone working at the hotel. We were very sorry to leave.

A sad occasion was lifted by the staff at The Grange at Oborne and its serene surroundings!A Hotel of the highest quality, and staff it was a joy to meet. We loved this place and intend as a semi retired couple with time to relax - to return in the very near future.Loved the sound of the Christmas programme!
