Beaverbrook’s story is one of English high society at its most charismatic. Defined by colourful personalities, power politics and literary greats. Today, Beaverbrook harnesses this energy and charm and blends it with beautifully designed spaces and places in which to dine, unwind, rejuvenate and indulge. The House is quintessentially British with many original features combining with modern touches ensure we created the perfect opulent yet homely atmosphere. The high attention to detail has been carried through from the Parrot Bar in 1920's colonial splendour through the 18 bedrooms to the Japanese Grill all whilst enjoying views of the Surrey Hills. The Garden House is a tranquil haven surrounded by a beautiful walled kitchen garden where the Estate grows it's vegetables and a wild meadow. The Garden House has a cosy and friendly ambiance, with the feel of a charming rustic English country home, providing 11 delightful bedrooms and a delicious Anglo-Italian inspired seasonal menu.

Beaverbrook - Country House Hotel is frequently praised for its spotless premises and high-quality room amenities that contribute to the property's impeccable cleanliness. The atmosphere merges classic elegance with modern touches, though the music selection may lack variety for some. While the attentive staff often receive compliments for their service, there are occasional reports of delays and perceived indifference. Rooms are celebrated for their unique themes and comfort, yet a few guests recount less satisfactory experiences. Despite the commendable amenities, such as the diverse dining options and tranquil spa, some visitors find the high prices do not match the value offered.

This place has informal yet lux service down to a fine art.
We were greeted at the gate by a chap who took our reservation name and temperatures.
After driving up the stunning mile long driveway we were greeted at the door by a valet who already knew our names and which accommodation we were staying in, very impressive.
The reception staff were excellent, they knew it was my birthday and a special celebration weekend. In fact wherever we went in the hotel the staff seemed to know it was my 40th Birthday. Adrian in the bar congratulated me and made me my favourite cocktail on the house. The team in the restaurant for dinner gave me birthday brownies and in my bedroom there was complimentary petit fours. It’s this level of attention to detail and an incredibly personal service that makes Beaverbrook so special.
I also adored the fact that it is undoubtedly a five star resort, but has a wonderful informal feel, with crackling log fires, board games to play, books to read and a casual yet elegant atmosphere everywhere you go.
I also adored the quirky details they have, and a nod to Beaverbrooks famous history.
The spa complex is out of this world, I had the biodynamic massage that was incredible. There is a large indoor pool and heated outdoor pool that was wonderful at 8am for a peaceful pre breakfast dip with the singing birds.
We ate in the Japanese restaurant in the evening, wowzer! The stand out dish for me was a fatty tuna tartar covered in generous shavings of black truffle. And they have their own wine too, we tried their blanc de blanc fizz and it was delicious.
The breakfast was great, I had smoked salmon, eggs and avocado and a super spicy Bloody Mary.
Our room was beautiful, great king size bed and a huge marble bathroom, I cannot fault it at all.
The only negative thing I saw during our stay was that there were some stains on our bedroom carpet, but that’s such a small little thing.
I will definitely be back at Beaverbrook it’s an absolute treat of a hotel.

We stayed at Beaverbrook for a family break over the summer. We were very impressed by the two men working on the valet parking as they were very welcoming and helpful. The house and grounds are lovely and I particularly liked the pool and spa area. What was great about the trip is that it suited us with a baby and there is plenty to do for families with older children too and yet it still feels luxurious and relaxing for adults at the same time. The only downsides was the cost/value. It was a lot of money and while the room was beautiful with amazing views, having stayed in a number of other hotels at a similar price level, I do feel that the standard in some areas needs to be higher. For example, the breakfast room was lovely but looked a little tired already and the portion sizes was rather small and the service was not as good as in other areas of the hotel. We were also not able to have afternoon tea one day as it has to be booked in advance which was a little disappointing since we had not been warned about this and there is not a whole lot else to do. There is a nice quiet family friendly atmosphere and which was nice and relaxing. We did have a few large spiders last in our room but I suppose there is little that can be done about that!

I would definitely like to go again although the cost is a little off putting.

Since the arrival at the property, we felt like we had chosen the perfect place for a relaxing getaway from the city. The whole property is beautiful and the grounds are astonishing! We were given a lovely room, elegantly furnished with a balcony overlooking the grounds - could not point a single fault to it. Our bed was so comfortable and the pillows made us feel like we were laying our heads on top of clouds. We were tremendously delighted by its cleanliness as well as reassured of our well-being by all the health and safety measures adopted on site. After a pleasant meal in the evening, we got to enjoy a cocktail watching the sunset from our balcony - the weather was lovely that night. We regret we had only booked one night, but we cannot wait to return! A special thanks to all the staff that took such good care of us.

This was the first time that we’d been back to Beaverbrook since COVID and had really been looking forward to eating in the Japanese Grill.

The precautions in place make you feel really comfortable, the majority of staff are wearing masks - although not all and there is hand sanitizer all around the building.

We had asked to sit outside when we had booked, but typically it was raining, so they were able to put us into a private room for the evening. This was great, however, I would say that either due to COVID changes or due to the fact we were eating somewhere else in the building, I did feel that the service wasn’t quite as attentive as it has been previously.

For the food, it is all now effectively a limited set menu, served in boxes, which I don’t mind, but I love sushi and it is annoying to not be able to pick and choose what you want to eat. The pricing on these boxes is also sky high for what you’re getting and the fact that out of 3 sections in a box, one might be a salad and they’re charging up to
£48 for a starter.
I did however ask for my favourite rolls that weren’t on the menu and they happily made them :)

Almost £700 for dinner for 4 was £200 more expensive than the last time we were here for comparable wine/courses. Love beaverbrook, but not sure we’ll be back until the menu and pricing is looked at.

This was my first time visiting the Beaverbrook hotel for dinner. But WOW! The grounds are stunning, the drive towards the country house was beautiful. It was nice to see the hidden parts of the Surrey Hills. As soon as we arrived, we felt very welcomed by the hotel staff and reception and they guided us to the restaurant. We ordered the Beaverbrook Tasting Menu and the food was not only aesthetically pleasing but really tasty too. The flavours and seasoning were very well done. The restaurant staff were friendly and explained each dish perfectly. One thing I would point out is that the waiters should wipe the table after every dish. It was not an issue but is something that is done in other high restaurants and pretty sure can be fixed quickly. Other than that really recommend this restaurant and Beaverbrook a place to visit.

A first class stay from start to finish. Everyone was very welcoming and couldn’t do enough to please us.
We had dinner in the Garden Restaurant and it was stunningly good.
Rooms were spotless and supplied with everything you would need - except maybe tea and coffee making facilities, although having said that, room service is available all day.
First rate stay and I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough.
Our stay was a present from our children for our 40th wedding anniversary, so we didn’t pay for anything. It is a very expensive place to stay, but if you can afford it, we’ll worth the money.

A stay at Beaverbrook Estate is a wonderful experience. Our Garden House “comfy” room (Chamomile) was very well appointed and the “Dine Around Beaverbrook” package was of great value in helping take full advantage of the variety of excellent dining options. Staff were extremely courteous and attention to detail was a hallmark of the hotel. A new Spa facility provided exercise, swim and “quick lunch” possibilities. The grounds are beautiful, both manicured and wild, with breathtaking views over the Surrey countryside. The perfect place to stay for special occasions!

This was our second stay and we really enjoyed excellent service and food in this country hotel.
We stayed in one of the turret rooms which has spectacular views of the countryside.

Many of the staff remembered us from an earlier visit last year and we were made very welcome throughout.

We booked a package (All dine around Beaverbrook) which included all meals, breakfast and evening cocktails. The staff were happy to substitute a different cocktail from the one included in the package.

The food at the Garden house and in the Japanese restaurant was all excellent. The Sommelier, Giovani was extremely helpful with our order of a bottle of saki to accompany the many courses.

We also had great service from Nero, Suzie & Nadia in the Japanese Restaurant.

Many thanks to Lucy - the hostess at Garden House, where we had a very nice lunch.

It was nice to run into Alan again, the estate bars manager.

Thank you also very much to James who served our delicious cocktails in the bar and to one of the porters, John.

Thank you very much for a relaxing short break in this very well run establishment.

The only good things we can say about Beaverbrook are the photo worthy grounds and the Japanese restaurant.

We selected a comfy room and it is the smallest room we have ever stayed at a price of £800+ per night. The decor of the room was tired and the floor was dusty when we arrived. Although looks good on photo, when you see the actually room, the decor was average quality that you can get in any quality B&B.

The garden house bar was tiny and again relatively cheap decor. It was disappointing to eat at the Garden House restaurant, I would not recommend going there. Our dinner was gastro pub quality but charged at Michelin starred restaurant prices. The service was really poor, we need to chase to get attention from the waitresses and they had to correct our bill twice (we had multiple additional items charged to our bill). Finally breakfast is a bit of a joke, boasting their garden, we ordered a couple of beetroot and juice smoothies and disappointed they came ready made in a bottle that you can get from a farmshop. I was hoping to have fresh smoothies made on site. Breakfast selection not great and also overpriced as well.

The spa main receptionist staff was rude to us. Its our first time to the hotel and she asked us to find a free locker in the changing room and read the instructions ourselves. We had to navigate and find the swimming pools ourselves. The spa is also very small and the relaxing area are pretty dated. I can see grease marks on the sofa chair from other guests.

They forgot our laundry. We dropped it on Friday and still haven't got it on the Monday when we checked out. They had to post them back to us at home because the company they use only deliver them back the afternoon after we have checked out.

The activities were average and they made such a big thing about the basic stuff like tennis and cycling. They never have the quaint-essentially British experience like shooting as an example, they will make excuses that only large groups can go. Even the activity staff told us they have never seen shooting taking place. If the weather is bad, you are stuck. There is not even fitness or activities classes on offer.

If you really want to go I would recommend visiting the Japanese restaurant and have a drink in the main house bar. Other than that its really not that special.

My wife and I spent a long weekend at Beaverbrook to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Having spent 6 months confined to our small London flat due to the pandemic, it was nice to escape to this lovely country hotel.

The staff are excellent and provide an incredibly high standard of service. The building is very impressive, steeped in history and surrounded by beautiful grounds. There are plenty of activities available for guests.

The main bar is very nice and offers a good range of cocktails. In terms of food, we loved the Japanese grill and ate there pretty much daily!

Beaverbrook has worked very hard to make the the hotel "covid secure" - staff wear face masks, tables have been well spaced, hand sanitiser is readily available and the hotel is frequently cleaned and sanitised. There is also plenty of outdoor seating and space. All of this made us feel as safe as possible.
