Stayed three nights as a mini break. Staff were excellent, polite and very helpful Room was perfect comfortable bed and very clean. Bathroom clean and the shower was perfect. Bar and restaurant were comfortable and the food was very good.
Fantastic stay, really helpful freindly staff, great price, food really good quality and reasonably priced. Well built hotel, couldnt hear comings and goings of others and dog friendly. Great stop over location ready for Newquay. Will visit again.
This hotel is definitely a dog lovers paradise. As mentioned in previous reviews there are lots of dogs. The staff in the bar and restaurant were attentive and delivered excellent service and the food was very good. The rooms are themed as modern urban chic which resembles a prison cell or an unfinished bedroom complete with concrete walls. The bathroom however was clean and well presented and modern. On balance 3 stars out of 5 is a fair reflection of this budget type hotel.
Best IBIS I’ve stayed in for a while. Chose this hotel as a stop off on the way down to Cornwall. Chose it as had car park and dog friendly. Also they answered their emails quickly compared to other hotels in the area! Closely located off M5 junction 23. Be careful with post codes and sat navs, as it instructed us to get off at junction 24 and took us to the other end of the road! Check in was quick. Keys were ready and a drinks voucher provided for being a ALL member. They even had a bag of treats for our dog ready with her name so on (which they asked for when I emailed the hotel to confirm). We were then able to book a time for breakfast. We had booked an half board rate. So after freshening up we came down to have dinner. We were able to sit in the lounge area with our dog to have drinks and our dinner. We had a steak meal and salmon meal. The steak was cooked perfectly as was the salmon. All the staff were friendly and eager to help. Also website needs to change, the half board rate says it’s a three course meal but only offered a two course meal. The bedroom was a standard IBIS room. Yes I agree with other comments the industrial look of the walls makes it look unfinished but didn’t bother us. The only negative comments I would make about the room was that the curtains in the corner room didn’t shut completely, so had light coming in. Also the air conditioning was quite loud and sounded like cracking ice, so had to switch it off during the night, which was annoying because it didn’t have any windows that could be opened. Overall it was a comfortable nights sleep. Breakfast was a IBIS standard. The host kindly offered vegetarian sausages if we wanted. Because we had booked a time, it didn’t feel overcrowded. Again was able to eat in the lounge area with our dog. Check out was quick and staff again were lovely. Overall yes would stay here again for an overnight stop! Also kudos to the management for training their staff to the Accor standards. Other Accor hotels could learn a thing or two from this IBIS!…
Stayed for three nights while visiting friends; my two sons (4yo and 6mo) and mum in interconnected rooms. Not a fan of the “eco urban concrete” feel. Personally like to feel a home away from home or luxury when staying in a hotel; just felt cold after impersonal. We didn’t eat dinner as stayed out with friends. Every time we got back the car park was full so I had to park right outside in the drop off area. But strange they don’t have enough spaces for guests. Did use their WhatsApp service in lieu of there being no landlines but it wasn’t received or read for hours and was never responded to so didn’t bother using it again. Breakfast was pleasant enough. It’s an ibis…it’s cheap and cheerful. Good if you have dog; saw quite a few.
